I didn't think I would either. My only prior exposure to them was of all things the original Doom. The ORIGINAL doom.
I bought Portal because I'd found some friends artwork and enjoyed seeing the little bits of it online, and it became a gateway drug for mePlus, Portal is set IN the half life universe (though Portal 2 will be set 'hundreds of years in the future' so it's connection is less tight). The gameplay and immersive experience is really well worth it, even if you think you won't like the FPS aspect. After all, COH can be an FPS if you just hit B.

Quote:.... Only after the retcon. No, the Council was the first group (backstory-wise). The 5th was essentially just Requiem's little pet project, but since Requiem's kinda incompetent, the Center came in and decided to assert more direct control.
And seriously people who haven't yet played half life and hl2? Buy them, and play them. Pick up the Orange Box and the HL1 anthology. You will NOT regret it. The story telling in hl2 is so rich and full, that in waiting for the latest installment of the game (episode 3) we've had a huge pile of speculative threads over in the Steam forums about who would do what, where, etc - not just 'what kind of weapons I want' or 'we need a new vehicle'. Plus, similar to the AE here, Valve offers its source engine (... Source) and the tools to use it, to the public. Thus, there are large numbers of excellent (and many mediocre) maps and mod games derived from it available to pass the time.
... When I couldn't afford COH, I could still play hl2, so... -
What specifically are the bennies from this one? Because I bought a copy AT a gamestop, but had not preordered it. I got a goodie code, however, on my reciept. It reads as a perk, in addition to the code for GR itself (cc). I certainly hope that I didn't "steal" someone's code, entirely by accident.

I can only really think of one of my heroes who might consider leaving Paragon, but it would really be a blow to his 'character'. Trickster's Jackalope might become somewhere in the middle ground, because he's never quite learned to control his burny bits, and people get hurt. That, and he's been blessed by Coyote, a little chaos never hurt him.
I am however planning on very different versions of other characters. Those remain to be seen whether they'd work or not. -

Quote:You'll be surprised to note that pretty much all the servers have almost the same population. Virtue and Freedom are generally at the top, yes, but aside from those, all the servers are, according to Ocho, essentially the same.Virtue and Freedom are the only servers with significant populations I believe.
Don't wait for others to beg you to team, make your own, and definitely utilize the global functions.
Besides, Going Rogue will be released soon - and like with most Issues and particularly any in-store releases, the population will explode albeit briefly with folks who've left and come back, or those who have been wanting to try but never bothered. -

I'm pretty sure he's on Steam a lot
Happy birthday Sage! -
Yyyyyyah. You should watch it. Get a nice copy, there are some anniversary editions around. It's well worth seeing, if anything to note that it was so far ahead of its time in terms of computer generated backgrounds and such. It wasn't the first, but it was excellent.

Thank you!
I ... trimmed the trees today!
I had fun yesterday because I made my terrarium! My cat keeps bringing me frogs (live), and so I had to get a good place for em. Because otherwise he'd just bring them back if I let them go again. -

I cannot imagine how it will not look okay
I'm no fan of 3d either, myself. But from what I have seen it still all looks simply amazing. It'll be fun just to see the world as it's developed.

Every time I passed by the Tron booth at the con this weekend I took pictures of the bike. The bike is so awesome it's beyond words. And the new Recognizer too.

When the RWZ was in beta, yeah there were a lot of unfinished text bits like
"I'm Shouting!" which i think everyone who saw it laughed atIt was ambush text.

I freaking hate it.
No search bar on every page? Why - because they 'want to encourage people to hit the front page to browse'. .... I'm not there to browse. The front page doesn't interest me for more than 10 seconds, and then I'm 'in' the site doing what I'm there to do. They want more people browsing, presumably, so that their ads get more hits.
And look at the size of the ads!Whee! Well, I don't, because adblocker plus has worked very well for me on firefox. But it's very obvious what they were doing in the last couple months. Making it harder for people to navigate, and hit the same pages over and over.
Not being able to browse at full size: they let that one slip out a few months ago, remember? And when there were 10 out of 10 new complaint threads about it sucking on their forums, they backed off and said, "oh well this is just in beta, we'll take that into consideration"... but they didn't remove it. They made it part of the premium package. A package I will never, ever pay for - particularly not if they've been giving it to me for free for 7 years.
Having to list your gender - now, while I don't mind doing so, plenty of my friends *don't* want their gender known to the world, or want to express themselves in a more specific manner than "male/female" allows. They should have kept the 'not saying'. Not sure why they bothered with this.
Separation of the deviations from comments - apparently they think this might have been a good idea now that everyone hates the new method. YA THINK?!
Cut off comments - suck!
I could probably think of a few more things, but ... the entire release is filled with fail.
... It's so slow, now, too. Slower than typical, I mean, and DA has never been 'fast' for me.
Oh well, I'm just a freeloading peon that's been on the site longer than most of their admin, I guess my ad space isn't worth as much as the other hundred million pages. -
I'd like a new day job of "baguette maker". Those guys must be freaking rich.

Hehehe, yeah I did that recently on a character to get the latest badge, even though I hadn't gotten any of the others for their anniversaries.
I love badge spam. -
Sorry robby, but the reason we haven't had base love isn't "no one uses them". It's more complicated than just trying to get Raiding back in the game, and more than just the Going Rogue and other additions are in the way.
Myself I really do hope that there is a full Issue dedicated to Base Love. I think they should call it that. Or All Your Base.
I'd love to have items that actually have surfaces on their bottom sides, so you can't see through them so much... -
Happy birthday!

You can change the lighting by the little + and - marks next to the turning arrows now.
It doesn't provide a spotlight, but it does give you a better idea of how the colors will look against differently lit bgs. (Of course, mine doesn't work right now, something with my ultramode I suspect.) The lighting in Icon isn't worth diddly either, though. Best to just ... fiddle
