Quote:Yup.An NDA could also mean that they're preparing some horrifying kind of punishment for us to go along with the Incarnate system

Issue 20;
NPCs:
-From now on, all NPCs hair will be animated. To countermand the increased gfx requirements, however, only NPCs will be getting them. Also, we are removing the animation from capes to bring memory use back within acceptable levels.

Don't worry, evil colleague, I'll keep some doggy bottles on hand to catch all the mortal teary goodness for later.

Quote:Not atm, noWell, I was more wondering if there was a ping or something or if it's just passive observation is all, so thanks, heh. Good to know. As for the moving part, I've noticed that, and I'd better clarify then: an individual impulse is just something a thinking creature has, like an overordered fingerprint. It doesn't have to be moving to be picked up. It does need a working brain, though - which I suspect Nightwalker doesn't have, being a mass of shadow and all.

Nightwalker is a bit of a complex mess, tbh. I think the best baseline is to treat him as a Negative Energy being. Well, he is a Nictus, so...if in doubt shout and I'll try to clarify, make up on the fly >_>

I'd fix the bumpy, un-smoothed textures in the Snakes Caves maps, and others, which I must have bugged a hundred times and yet they still look like someone turned off the smoothing code before the final render.

Oh dear, you've gone and makde me break out the caps lock, haven't you?
REVAMPED CONTENT IS NEW CONTENT!
*Ahem* Now I shall elaborate.
The vast majority of Bluside content atm is incredibly old. About 90% of that content is also incredibly dull, boring and badly written. Taking that old rust and scrubbing it up, making it shine again? That takes all the 'old' out of it and makes it new. For the simple reason that arc and contact overhauls will, or rather should, make it unrecognisable from the dross it was before.
Ideally, each zone should have an underlying theme, if you will, something both The Hollows and Faultline do incredibly well. Faultline is probably the better example, as you go from ignorance when you enter to fully understanding the messed up history of the zone by the end, and helping resolve it.
Atlas Park, for example, could focus on the gang-war between the Hellion and Skulls, introducing some main players (The Skulls leader brothers and maybe a Hellion boss too). The contacts could then introduce you to someone in Kings Row, who had you investigate further and start knocking the gangs heads together. In doing so, you'd also learn of the groups allied to them, and realise just how big this drug-war cartel is. Either the Trolls or the...other group (cant remember if its Family or Outcasts) would be your next targets, giving you a choice, and then moving on to The Family and Tsoo as the big players, bringing the whole arc to a sweeping conclusion.
And then you realise in the zone after that ends that, heck, the drug wars are a small problem (which should seem ironic, if done right) and you've yet to even scratch the surface of the Cities problems.
So, YES. Revamps are good, especially when the early content has as much rust as it does. -
Quote:Ye gods, I needed that! Thank you for being awesomeI'll buy that. Then again it might hurt alting... Then again it would probably be too much of a hassle to constantly change one's AT, so it would be perfect for people like me who want to occasionally play an AT that they can't stand to level. Or maybe OH HELL I DUNNO I'M THINKING ABOUT IT TOO MUCH
So let's think about something else. IMAGINE IF YOU WILL, City of Heroes if Jack Emmert was still in charge.
Imagine looking for a group because that -3 mission full of Hellions is way too much for you to solo. You're a Scrapper, not Statesman.
For years you've asked for Shield Defense, and finally the dev team has.... not given it to you. Because it's impossible with the current technology. The year is 2043.
Several buffs are announced for.... Statesman. Players can go piss up a tree.
Several new costume pieces have been announced for players who prepurchased Star Trek Online.
What do you want to solo things for? That's not fun. I know fun. I make video games. You don't need to solo things to have fun. Shut up and join a team. NO I'LL KICK YOUR ***.
A set of alternate animations has been scrapped as it was revealed that players already have access to a high number of perfectly good animations already.
It turns out that enhancements actually allowed players to become stronger than intended. Enhancements have been removed.
Scrappers have been removed.
Blasters have had their range reduced as it was proving to be an unfair advantage against melee-centric mobs.
All villain groups now have access to Mask of Vitiation and also now it causes your character to just straight up drop dead.
Someone commented on how capes were pretty neat looking, so we've adjusted them accordingly. By adjusted I mean removed.
The population of the Freedom server exceeded expected parameters. All players on the Freedom server have been banned.
And yes, that mental image of Jackinist rule returning DOES scare me shiteless, now you mention it

The DeFeurards have general passive senses, although it's mostly Leon who does the sensing, being the oldest and most practiced. Maria comes second to her Dad and Lawrence lags behind a fair bit. Although he's out of the league of baseline humans.
Nightwalker is mostly locked onto (or attempting to) lock onto Tomb, although also anyone he suspects is coming close to her, so he knows where to go.
Thats a more active thing, but he's fairly good at multi tasking...and is also just lurking in the deepest patch of dark he can find in the jungle, so it's not like he's putting effort into things like moving

Quote:...Why copy it?why not just copy warburg and make it where anyone can attack anyone?
Why not just use Warburg?
Theres currently a lot more stuff that has far higher priority.
Like, I dunno...making PvP not suck? Mebbe? Before even thinking about adding more zones for it.
Oh, and all that PvE stuff too. Because theres a lot of it. -
The entire base editor needs an overhaul. Just when it will happen is the question, really.

The arrival was quiet and subtle, the three figures stepping out of thin air and standing there, apparently shunning gravity for now.
"Well. Quite the caffufle, this time," Leon smirked, twirling the cane he held in one hand idly as he looked around. Out of the three, he stood out the most, still wearing the white suit that he had become increasingly attached to.
"Are we going after the girl, the rest of them or the hag?" Maria asked bluntly, checking the network of scabbards that were strapped across her back and waist, jet black trenchcoat whipping in the wind as she did so. Lawrence simply smiled faintly, adjusting the mirrored glases he wore before putting his hands in the pockets of his own trenchcoat, which was dark red in colour.
"We wait until the other start to congregate. That way, we know where our targets are for certain," Leon explained, walking forward a few steps, still on thin air. "For the girl...I get the suspicion that we're just a tad late to lay any dibs there, hmm? Personally...Bathory, that headcase Lucard and the demon-thing Erez'Zul. They'll make the best examples. Nothing fancy, just lop off a limb or trinket that's hard to get. We want to make a lasting point, after all," he added with a faint grin.
"Fine, you deal with the hag," Maria snapped. "That prat Lucard is mine. If he thinks those little pea-shooters of his are going to impress, he's going to be in for a shock..."

Something moved inthe shadows of the forest.
He knew he was in the right place. He could sense the others, Hero and Villain alike.
They were an irrelevance at best, an annoyance at worst. He had his goal, and he would achieve it. One way or another.
After all, any fool knew that death was by no means a permanant factor.
"Now, Miss Tomb...let us see your worth..." -
Gek; powers work would be seperate from everything else. I don't see any feasible way that it would be all one group. Sure, coders might have to work on both, but thats their job schtick anyway, afaik.
For me? 9-10. I don't mind the EATs too much, since I quite like the colours they have now. However, I think they should get full customisation. No flipping half measures, thanks. 'They can only be one colour' is a very lame excuse.
As for pools, oh dear god... Medicine for sure, Hastens pom-poms of d00m, and Super Speed. If I jump over a high drop, SS blinds me. Freaking orange blaze trail of doom! I hate it. -
Un-needed idea is un-needed.
What I would say has been said already. /Unsigned -
To be exact, a fair chunk of the anthro art based fandom still use 'Furry' to refer to anthropormorphic art and its fans. For the most part, however, people use it as an insult and derogartory comment.
In the same way that g*y people simply used to be the life and sould of parties, happy and generally easy going, its now used as a term with only sexual connotations.
This is also the reason I refere exclusively to my own art as anthro art, because thats what it is and that is the extent of what I do; artwork. Anyone suggesting otherwise can man up and say it to my face.
They can also pay for flying to the UK to do so, giving me the added bonus of laughing at them

The DeFeurards will be showing up, count on that.
Along with a certain someone, although how visibly remains to be seen...
-
Still hoping the promised animal/anthro pack is in the works, somewhere...
Given it was pretty clearly talked about, until the posts in question mysteriously vanished overnight. -
And how's about letting us have characters with actual white skin, not some horrible, murky, off-white-pink-thing sort of colour? It's kind of annoying, the fact the skin tones are so strange because of the semi-yellow underlay or whatever it is that makes them off...
-
They've got slightly different powers, like Recovery Aura and some Kinetics thrown in, along with mental blasting. And I frequently see Assault suits trucking around near the mothership, as regular zone spawns. Albeit at level 53-4 I think. So purty nasty.

Quote:Maybe just because you and certain others find the Voids/Quants 'trivial' doesn't everyone else does?I happen to think the original level of Kheldian vulnerability to voids/quants was acceptable and valid. I managed to level up a couple of Khelds back then without extreme difficulty. It was refreshingly cool to actually have to be worried about something like a "deadly sworn enemy" that could zap you if your tactics didn't account for them. It kept me from sleep-walking through many missions because I actually had to pay attention to what I was doing.

Obviously most people didn't agree with my opinion on that because the Devs eventually caved in to all the whining about it.
They watered down the severity of that threat to its currently semi-trivial level.
If my thoughts on the matter puts me on some kind of "List" then so be it. *shrugs*
I for one despise them utterly, despite having methods of ID'ing them early (tab bound to target Kheld specifics as a priority)
Even when ID'd, if I so much as miss with Incandescent Strike or Gravity Well, I'm looking at a world of hurt from even a minion class enemy. Why? Well, first of all, Q guns have a rediculously high chance% for Knockdown, to which Kheldians have no resistance. They also have what seems to be a moderate/decent chance to stun, on top of that. The guns ALSO fire as fast as it takes for a character to get up again from being Knocked down.
So, when accuracy decides to flip me the bird, what tends to happen is;
-Shot by Q gunner and Knocked Down
-Rest of mob stars wailing on me too
-Get back up
-Q gun has by now recharged and fires again, often before I can get another attack off.
Now, I can just see what the responses will be; "Use the energy shield!", "Use Dwarf Form!" or good old "Learn to Play!"
None of those are valid. Right now Kheld builds are insanely tight, although I19 may make that a bit easier, especially on my Human PB, making it hard to justify the energy shield in the early/mid levels just to deal with one enemy type. And yes, on my PB Dwarf form isnt even an option. Not to mention it seems to do naff all in way of damage mitigation (I have a whole other opinion on that one...) -
