  1. Well I wanted a Mastermind for soloing AVs and GMs just for the fun of it, I had my mind set on a Bots/Dark, and a good build already set for him (thanks to Scene)... And then I had to go and look over the froums and discover the Bots/Traps. So my question here is, would a Bots/Dark be able to solo Avs and GMs just as well as the Bots/Traps, or are there AVs/GMs that a Bots/Traps can solo, but a Bots/Dark cant?

    It's your hard hitter. Don't slot if for anything BUT a damage set. Almost as bad as slotting it with a hold set...ugh. Disgraceful.

    Ya that is what I thought, I do use mine for damage, and that is why I was confused as to why he slotted it with the crushing impact, thought maybe I was doing something wrong, which didnt make sense cause it is my only hard hitter, but I am also new to SS on a brute, so figured I could be wrong.

  7. Thanks for all the feedback guys. I will probably stick to making the Bots/Dark MM for AV/GM soloing then. I just want to solo a GM for bragging rights lol, porbably wont be doing it often.
  8. If you can solo an AV would it be possible to solo a GM on a brute; for my next toon I am thinking of making a FM/WP brute that can solo AVs, from what I have read I will be succesful at taking down some AVs, will he be able to take down a GM?
  9. Alright, Ill do that... but first I must learn how, lol. Im bad with macros, the only one I know how to make is the one that says something in the desired chat, like for SG recruiting. Would you post the macro I need to use please? Would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Ya it was yours I was looking at, looked better than all the others I saw. Thanks for the better build, I do like it. And Ive never really played MMs before, the defencive mode is the follow button with the arrow correct? And as for the alpha slot, which would be best for this kind of MM?
  11. I am horrible at building MMs, so I found a build on the forums, added a little tweaking to it, and was wondering if this build would be alright for AV soloing. Also What would the steps be for soloing an AV with a MM? I know it is going to be different than any other AT out there.

  13. Once again, I have been looking at a FM/WP build on mids for both a scrapper and a brute. The brute does a little bit more damage than the scrap when fury is at about 70, but the scrap does more damage without the brute having its fury up; and of course the scrapper will have that crit chance. I will plan on being able to solo AVs with this toon, I have most of my experience in tanking and controllers, so never really made a dps toon, not sure which one I should go with, anyone have any on input on which I should go with?

    Just make a target macro and kill the Quartz first. Or aggro from a distance - they summon the (location based) buff pets then run out of buff range to you.

    Ok so I am fairly new to SR, I am now fully slotted, capped in all defences, but I got into this one tip mission and:
    The Executioner HITS you! Foot Stomp power had a 95.00% chance to hit and rolled a 15.02.
    Deathcap HITS you! Pummel power had a 95.00% chance to hit and rolled a 55.86.

    Is it just me or should they not be able to have a 95% chance to hit someone with softcapped defence? They were only lvl 51s and I can tank an ITF just fine, mostly, but these guys I jump in and BAM dead, 3 times in a row. Anyone else see a problem here? Am I missing something? And yes of course I checked that my toggles were up.

  18. Eh I have a buddy with about 90 bil stocked up and doesnt have any toons to slot, she said shed help me if I actualy lvl the toon and not just ask for the money :P

  20. Alright thanks for all the feedback guys. So I know I have to make a shield/ or an Inv/Fire might be viable to solo an AV. You think Shield/EM would work or would I have to go with fire/dark/Kinetic Melee?
  21. Was just wondering if there was a certain tank build that would have the capability of soloing an AV, and if there is, what powersets would it have to take. Also would the build have to sacrifice survivability to solo an AV?

    Let's say you use a 33% uncommon recharge in your Alpha Slot when I19 comes out. One-third (11%) is not affected by ED while two-thirds (22%) is. With three recharge IOs, the enhancement value is 99.08%. Add in the Alpha Slot bonus and you get 114.10% recharge enhancement. Mids' would display a 131.73s recharge with Hasten on. Remember the actual recharge will be more than that because you lose the 70% from hasten when it expires. That 11.73 seconds turns into something a bit longer

    The 45% Very Rare Spiritual IO would be a different story, though. Unfortunately, it won't arrive until Issue 20, at the earliest. I'll do the math anyways. You would have 132.05% recharge bonus in Hasten with three recharge IOs. Mids' would display a 125.16s recharge.

    I realize that situation isn't giving you perma-Hasten still, but you shouldn't expect to get everything you want without spending more INF. You don't have enough global recharge bonuses to get perma-Hasten on that build. If you could farm up the merits to buy the Gladiator's 3% defense IO, that would allow you to slot more recharge. Also, picking up Maneuvers or Stealth is equivalent to three set bonuses, but you would have to give up Aid Self.

    Ya, I should save those slots for heal/stamina. Thanks for the input. Also, would giving up aid self be worth the stealth or manuvers? And yes I plan on farming the Glad +3% def in the furture. I did put all the health procs in aid self though, moved some things around to put the Numina, Miracle, and Regenerative Tissue procs in.

    SS on a Brute

    I am planning on making a SS/SR Brute, and am not very experienced with SS. Is the set worth getting due to the rage crashing all the time if you stack it more than once? Does the crashing get annoying to the point to where you don't want to play it anymore?
