  1. Great showing tonight, Pinnacle! We had three full teams to run the LGTF, with one team leaving the other two in the dust! Must have had one hell of a ghost.

Then we headed over to Skyway City to stop the Rikti invasion, and ended up with a league of three full teams there as well.

Very fun event, I had a blast running it, and I hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. We hope to get one more event going later this month before the Talsorian Guard's anniversary weekend in November.
  2. I really hope they do not expect us to go quietly.

They saw what happened when they first made the announcement. Just what did they think we were going to do when they dropped THIS bomb?!

I, for one, am done giving them the benefit of the doubt and holding my tongue.

    Vox populi
  3. An average mature blue whale is only a few feet longer than an average basketball court.

Based on the above screen shot, I'd say the Leviathan IS Sharkhead.

I'm thinking the "free-for-VIP" coding would have been included with i24's patch. Bummer, it would have been nice to get some use out of those sweet looks, if only for a limited time.
  5. A 6 hour maintenance is a little on the long side, but at the same time, nothing we haven't seen in the past. Some maintenance periods are just longer than others.

As for the times, I think that is coincidence only. 10:30am is their usual streaming time.

If there is some correlation, it's a long shot. Odds are, they are firing up Twitch to do what they've been doing: remind us that they are still here, and encourage us to keep up our efforts.
  6. I've watched both episodes up to this point. I have always said that for any movie/tv show to be successful, the audience has to be invested in the characters. Part of that relies on writing, and the other part is on the actors' shoulders. Both the acting and the writing seems about middle of the road right now, but after the last episode, I have been left wondering more about the cause of the blackout (both who and what) rather than the outcome of any of the characters. Hopefully, they can change that around in the next episode or two, because I do think that the show has some promise.
  7. Top 3: Levantera, Glacia, and I am inexplicably drawn toward Overdrive.
  8. Thanks for posting that, ChrisMoses.

Hopefully the OP gets updated with at least a link to that.
  9. I believe it is "one random city zone" which, given the co-op design of the TF, I assume to mean either a red or a blue zone. My hope is to be gathering in a blue-side zone.
  10. Make yourself a superhero. Ask for something completely frivolous, that you may not even use that much, but when you pick it up and hold it, you can't help but feel super.

For me, that is my 21", 16-gauge steel shield, designed for realistic stage combat. I could break down a door with this thing, so when I hold it, I can't help but feel super. A friend of mine has an "archery hobby" (in quotes because he goes to practice maybe once a month), but he really just likes the bows because they make him feel like Hawkeye, Green Arrow, Speedy, etc.

Find your superhero prop and ask for that!
  11. Pinnacle!

The Talsorian Guard invites you to join us for a server rally this Tuesday, October 2nd, at 8:30pm EDT, 7:30pm CDT.

The Task Force: Anyone who would like to go for the run of The Lady Grey Task Force is encouraged to gather in the Rikti War Zone a little before the above posted time. My hope is that we get multiple teams going and that we RACE each other through the TF!

The CATCH: Every team will pause once we have reached the last room of the last mission (the room with Hro'Dtohz and The Honoree), until all teams have reached that room on their respective mission instances (team leaders will coordinate this). Then we all attack the final AVs together, and finish the task force more-or-less at the same time.

The Invasion: Multiple completions of the TF should spawn multiple Rikti invasions. We will quickly choose which zone is best suited for the server to gather in, broadcast the gathering point over the LFG channel, and go to town killing Rikti!

Any questions/comments, post them here! I hope you will join us on Tuesday!
  12. It was SO good to be back this week, although the turn out was less than overwhelming (only about 4 teams).

That said, it was a very tight run. Each stage took a little longer due to our lesser numbers, but for the same reason we could afford to summon a pet-fest once we got to the bowl stage, so that was a little something new. All in all, it was a very successful raid, and I am glad that people still enjoy showing up for these. Lord knows I like running them!

    Updated for next week.
  13. As usual, I reserve judgement until I see their justification. Until then, it's exposure, and any chance to get our word out to a wider audience is good.
  14. Thanks J_B for posting this, and thanks to TA for the write-up! This is the kind of stuff we need to continue seeing and getting out there. Feeling a lot better suddenly. Especially with the following quote:

“Keep the positivity going for the SaveCoh campaign. Don’t let ourselves be pulled into aggressive tactics or negativity towards NCSoft, they are listening and we DO have their attention. Keep up the good fight!”

    20,000+ Strong

It is now four weeks post-doomsday announcement. The petition has reached over 20,000 signatures. Never mind that the initial goal of of that petition is no longer what we are really going for. As a simple demonstration of "numbers behind a cause," that right there is an accomplishment.

I agree that things look grim, considering we have had very little news in the past week related to a positive future for the game. But I think the above number is a milestone of which we can all be proud.

    Still keeping my fingers crossed.
  16. I'm here until the servers shut down.

(As my personal schedule allows :P )
  17. Never seen that! Thanks for the laugh, Leandro!

  19. Well done, sir! Sums up what we are doing and how it has happened VERY well. My compliments.
  20. A bit thank you to Talsors Aegis, Warmech, and Stellarum for stepping up and leading the raid this week when real life invaded the usual leader's lives. I am guessing it is a busy time for many considering it was only about 5 teams this week. But I am told it went smoothly.

After three weeks in another dimension, having seen all manner of loon and terror, and running for my life numerous times, Vox has returned. I told you I'd be back.

    Updated!
  21. Publicity is publicity! Anybody making their audience aware of our situation is helpful. The more people look interested in the game, the more valuable the game looks, the more appealing it looks to potential investors.
  22. Best. Community Manager. Ever.

Until our paths cross again, sir.

Haha! If I remembered where I had seen it, or who had said it, I would have said so! For all I know, I am making that up and just assuming we wouldn't see it based on how recently Water Blast hit the game.

Personally, I always thought Water was a great candidate for a control set.

EDIT: Hints. Tanker, Controller, Dominator, Blaster.
    My guesses:

Blaster: A Radiation secondary, given Rad Melee's development and the lack of a matching secondary for Rad Blast.

Tanker: Katana? That is the one melee power set they do not have, and it would technically be a "modification of what had been seen so far." Plus, I can't think of much else that a Tanker would get but the rest of the Melee archetypes would not.

Dominator: Illusion Control. Modification of something existing, and a long-time request of the player base (thus "obvious").

Controller: ...Traps? I actually have no clue on this one.

My other guess for Controllers/Dominators is Water Control, but I have it in my head that we received a pretty firm denial that that would make it into the game in any near future.
  25. Here's an interesting thought: would we CoH players still want Marvel to include the "create your own character" option if CoH did not have an expiration date? But that's for another topic.

Personally, I think playing as Marvel characters is very fun. I thoroughly enjoyed both Ultimate Alliance games, as well as both X-Men Legends games. That said, I enjoyed them so much because I was Silver Surfer. (Or Cap, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, etc.) Nobody else. Maybe I am just a slave to the "unique snowflake mentality," but even in co-op play on those games, no one was doing what my specific character was doing.

I can only speak for myself, but playing as Captain America on a team with 1 or more other Captain Americas (regardless of what "era" costume they are wearing) is less fun because they are the same character in essence.

Even if CoX players were to do a "Shield/SS super team" or something close to Captain America's abilities, there was likely still going to be a great variation in gender, physical appearance, origin/story, and power customization (let alone power pool choices, etc.). None of that appears to exist in MH. If two players play as Captain America, you are both "Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America," with likely only slightly varied costumes and power choices to tell you apart. Who wants to play make-believe in a world where other people make-believe they are the same person you are?

As usual, I will reserve final judgement until the game is released, but I feel pretty confident in saying that most players are going to want to play the "A-List" characters that they have heard of, and most people will probably get a little miffed when they log in to find that they are 1 of 300 other people that wanted to play as Iron Man.
