Quote:Or the entire car. In which case I wouldn't be too upset unless the new car were was worth less. Just saying >.>No one's complaining that a primary was nerfed, they're complaining that an entire powerset was nerfed when only a single power needed fixing. It's like taking your car to the shop and having the mechanic say "oh your oil needed to be changed but we replaced your entire engine." Reading comprehension, yo.

Quote:I did perfectly fine with a rad defenders in zone. In this order, Rad/psy, Rad/fire, Rad/Sonic Defenders. I also have a rad/dark which does pretty well too, but the tk snipe spike is most effective with psy and fire.I've played corruptors, defenders, and controllers with Radiation. Which would be most effective in zone pvp, and why?
Thanks...
I don't have much experience with corrupters so can't speak on that other than the fact that the Psy for corrs is far inferior due to scourge not having good synergy with delayed damage.
I have played a few rad controllers and they are cool for duels but in zone situations you will find trouble solo killing, but will be effective on teams. -
Clearly, but come on a nooby blaster is far more likely to get slaughtered than a nooby tank.
Ultimately though it is certainly to each its own. RV is teeming with the melee types and they seem to do just fine. Hell, seems fiteklub has more participants than any organized PVP or arena duels. -
Quote:Going to try to be nice? Lol, relax this isn't as important as someone may have led you to believe. The OP simply wants a melee toon. You factor in your damage while disregarding any sort of resistances/destiny powers, namely Barrier.going to try to be nice for a second....
ok...
with incarnates, everyone is a debuffer.
you can grab as many as you want, and then switch them according to the situation. example: going against a blaster with a rad with reactive is generally dumb, use diamagnetic. regen? ok maybe go reactive... playing a therm? preemptive.
let me put numbers out... my earth/fire's initial volley against a regen goes for 800 points minimum and animates in 3 seconds, every 10 seconds, i can dish out 500 points of damage to a regen in a 3 second volley which i fill in with a bunch of fast attacks in between that proc 75% of the time because reactive is beast. wdup?
Also it is a far less hostile environment for a tank than any ranged toons and is inherently easier for a new player than bringing in a ranged toon. -
-
With everyone playing poisons, therms, and blasters with an OP recovery debuff i'd imagine so.
But that is true vs anything not just melee. -
If fiteklub I agree with Morti go with a nearly unkillable tank or brute. For general zone PVP and also for duels I would recommend a regen scrapper of some sort. I prefer either MA, Fire, or Spines paired with Blaze mastery. It does pretty well.

Quote:Ver well said cant get too into detail im on my phone lol.Its been my opinion that the reason that the i13 changes were so 'horrible' is that the devs actually tried to listen to people (note: not saying pvpers) who claimed to know what would work best for pvp. They also took peoples claims that "yeah I would try PvP if only xxxx were in place".
What worries me most about these changes (stalagamites- yeah that needed to happen) (KM- I'm not too sure about, I will crunch some numbers soon) is that I fear they listened to the people screaming "omg nerf KM" rather than actually looking at the numbers and understanding that KM was only 1 attack, rather than an entire chain.
If its true that the devs asked a specific player "hey what changes needs to be made to make pvp viable" and that person asked their friends then reported back, wow that makes me really fearful of where PvP is going in this game.
PvP is has so many facets- zone, duels, team arena, and even fiteklub. I certainly am not an expert in all those different aspects of CoH PvP and I'm not sure any "one" person's opinion is credible to suggest changes.
During the last few weeks of PvP Bootcamp Z asked all of us (players new to pvp as well as a few pvp vets) what we thought needed were top issues. Honestly, while there were some good suggestions and some that just didn't make sense at all, the one thing that I kept thinking was:
You are asking the wrong people.
As a mostly team arena PvPer any suggestions I made would have totally been slanted towards that aspect of the game. If Z had asked someone like Merc maybe it would have been slanted towards fiteklub. If he had asked someone like Suckafish it may have been slanted towards duels. The point is, its nice to take a poll of what people want, but you have to sample the whole population not just one aspect of the PvP spectrum.
The aspect of PvP that I find most enjoyable- team pvp- is such a small population, and we do it so infrequently that potentially its needs/wants should be placed last.
The largest population of people pvping would probably be zone pvpers so changes that affect them (ie... km changes) could potentially lead to more trouble and rage than the few who scream "OMG NERF KM" when they probably would have been screaming "OMG NERF BS" or "OMG NERF CARP MELEE" if they had been hit by it. -
Can admit when i'm wrong and yeah you're right about "over doing it". LOL, they bring guns to a knife fight essentially. Though I still feel no sympathy for any KM players. The set may get a buff next time around. Only reason they likely even let it go on like this was so that it they could sell more KM etc...#justbusiness

Quote:Why not? lol.how could you have been so stupid as to spend any money whatsoever on a melee toon?
Long story short though you all HAD to see this coming. KM was mad overpowered and now has been nerfed into irrelevancy and youz kinda deserve it. "Oh KM is working as intended!" yeah which would explain why it was doing auto crit damage.
The devs got this one right. Plain and simple. -
It appears that KM has had its damage reduced across the board by 10-20pts and then CS just got murdered. So long story short, RIP KM.
-
It would appear that CS has had its base damage cut in half.
Mind controller Aoe Mezes are at 4 seconds now.
Also, the patch notes claim to have fixed the duration for fossilize in PVP but it appears it was referring to stalagmites as it is the only visible change. So stalagmites on the beta power details state base duration of 4 seconds in PVP now. Haven't tested it personally. -
So i have some major issues with losing something and while I admit I pay absolutely no attention to lore, id like to at least know how he died and any other info. Not really up to playing an arc that will just annoy me.
-
Yeah, maybe they will ACTUALLY be encouraged to use AS. was referring more to the HP buff. A buff to AS is always a great thing.
-
Already stated it was a pve change but still stalks need no assistance with survivabilty tho i understand they get little use out of dp and such. Already really tough to kill them in pvp oh well. Shark away.
-
ive seen it in action in fiteklub specifically and it did really poorly
-
Quote:Well that's pretty silly to buff stalker survivability but as someone said earlier PVP was obviously ignored.Yeah that was definitely just because of the Tanker HP cap, nothing more.
The new cap will allow Stalkers to reach just above 2000 hp, assuming they don't raise or lower it before release. This is obviously to mend the whole issue of +HP powers becoming somewhat irrelevant with the base HP boost but not cap boost at the same time. I can see this making a pretty big difference in Stalker survivability, as if they had problems with that anyways. -
The reason i ask is bc once upon a time i built a wp tank with 3500 + hp and it seemed dr slaughtered n i was only capable of 3500 with buffs. Seems like a good question to me...
-
It says when buffed...does this mean only via Hoarfrost and DP or will it be possible to hit around 2000HP on a WP stalker.
-
someone named blissy or something. nict and i fought suckafish and that chickdudeman
-
Both have a parry move which is exactly the same so let's disregard that.
I noticed a few kit/regen brutes and i'm in the market for a new actual lolmelee toon. I'm looking at one of these two combos.
Kitana/Energy Aura
Broadsword/Energy Aura
Scrap or Brute.
Basically this toon will be mainly to answer that "Any duel?" question.
Long story short, which is better and why? Also should I go brute or scrap? -
Is a rare/VR rewarded for every successful UG run?
-
May I ask what changes were made to Alpha and interface? Havent checked the new patch notes since they removed the emp merit requirements
