Bereavement issues
He was killed by Professor Plum, in the conservatory, with the rope.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
...who what now?
If you are referring to that other thread, then no, that is NOT canon and we have no idea at the moment. Stop believing BS, it's bad for you.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Did you also miss the 'Salute to Statesman' bit posted WEEKS AGO?

1. I don't care about this revelation in the least, as I play villain-side. The most I see him is in LRSF, so 'killing' him isn't new (or that big a deal). His absence won't be felt much in the Rogue Isles (except by Stefan, who will wear his most formal spider arms to the funeral).
2. A certain ex-senior dev must be looking at this and wondering 'They took THIS long to kill my character?' (I realise it's not 'his' character, but it may as well have been with his sense of ownership while involved in the MMO)
I also wonder if i25 will be 'Return of Statesman!' drawing inspiration from a similar signature character of a certain comic book company?

My original post was an official spoiler alert.
34 heroes,
20 villains, Victory, Justice, Infinity, Virtue, Triumph, Exalted -- some more active than others
So i have some major issues with losing something and while I admit I pay absolutely no attention to lore, id like to at least know how he died and any other info. Not really up to playing an arc that will just annoy me.
