Despite all evidence to the contrary
I hope Desdemona will be the first to die. -
Quote:I had the same problem, but the color was red and white. I eventually fixed it after changing the color one shade darker. He might have luck trying that?My husband's having a problem with his Beam Rifle character - he's tried to change the beam color to plasma green - it shows that way in the tailor - but when he's out in the world, but beam is white.
I'll tell him to try changing a costume piece too, maybe that'll fix it... -
It hasn't been released yet, so I don't think any changes would qualify as a nerf. I'd call it a tweak, adjustment, or a fix since it hasn't gone live. Thanks for the update, I wouldn't have known about the changes otherwise.

Getting the same problems as well. Quite frustrating.

I'm having the same problem. It looks like others in the technical issues forum are having it as well. Hopefully they'll put out an emergency patch so we can play soon.

AFIAK They've been thinking about granting limited posting privileges to premium and possibly freebie players as well.

Hmm, to Gold or not to Gold..?

I was just wondering what happened to him. He was one of the posters that came to mind whenever I thought of the CoH forums. He'll be missed.

Argh, not fair. I have a test in organic chemistry the next day! This is all a conspiracy to get me not to study, isn't it?

Happy birthday you two.

Wow, I just checked out the SG page. That is superb. Maybe I CAN think of a Dresden style alt when I21 goes live..
-
Quote:You should check out the Dresden Files. They are seriously amazing books.i was excited until i realized this isn't a group for fans of Dresden Codak, and instead some show i'd barely heard of.
so, um, good for you, lots of luck?
While I only play maybe two characters and thus won't be joining the SG, I wanted to chime in and say that I love the books and if Mr. Butcher is reading, you are fantastic good sir! -
Quote:Calm down.It must be fun to live in your perfect world where everyone knows everything and how to do it.
This Trial disincentivises you to play it, period. I'm sure you might retort with 'oh, there's a strat, you can use that', but strats are pointless when there are mechanics involved that you can do nothing about. No amount of trickery, planning or anything else will prevent those damage pulses and the Time Stop and the Disintegration.
These are not fun.
Fun is being able to shut them down temporarily. Fun is being able to shut them down permanently. Not fun is being subjected to an overpowered mechanic.
Unless you'd like to provide an answer in your perfect world where players know how to play (and of course, where ones that don't are totally at blame, because being perfect it wouldn't be your fault, would it?) that this can be overcome, your statement reeks of fallacy.
S.
There are a number of things one can do to alleviate the problems faced in the trial. If you honestly cannot see that then it would probably be best if you left the trial for those of us who enjoy a challenge and active participation.
I don't know about any perfect world or have any intention of being another victim of the internet fallacy police. Every Keyes run that I have ran (including failed ones) give detailed instructions beforehand along with a questions and answer portion. If people don't know what they are doing during the trial or just screw around, then yes, I am quite comfortable stating that it is their fault. -
Good points. Hopefully the additional EMP merit will be enough to tempt some folks to give it a shot again.
What gets me though is when there is teamwork, it is amazingly fun. Last night I had the best Keyes run in my experience. It always comes down to the final fight with AM and whether people are buying green insps or if they are waiting for someone to heal them.
My last failed run was the most frustrating thing I've done in game. I'm almost certain at least 20% of people don't run with league chat on. -
I've had the same problem with LAM runs. People love going AFK during the grenade/acid part. Maybe I just need to be more selective on who I invite.
-
It's a case of going into it with a BAF mindset. Keyes runs require teamwork and an active audience. Unlike BAF if you want to be successful you can't just shut off your brain and coast.
I think the damage pulse is manageable at it's current level. The final battle is so chaotic there may need to be some tweaks there. I'd follow everyone's suggestions and get rid of the entanglement since it's just ignored anyways. The suggestion to prevent Obliteration/Time stop/Disintegration overlap is also a very good one.
Edited to add substance and reduce innate snark. -

I would prefer my villains to be glamorous. I have to play them after all.

The more Dresden files press, the better. That stuff is like crack.
