It's like a catch-22 for me.

I go to the zones I'm interested in and ask if anyone wants to group I hear crickets.

I attempt to solo the stuff, which isn't enjoyable to me (my own opinion I know others love soloing).

I go to AP, say "lvl X Y LFT" and immediately get an invite and/or whispers.

I recently reached Cimerora and loved the build up of something sinister in the area as I talked to its citizens. Then to be unable to find anyone to do the missions sent me me crawling back to AP. I felt like I didn't have a choice.

What are these players doing that you can't explain to them how to improve?

It says Ginger has access to Invention enhancements vs. Colleen's Focus (?). Does that mean Ginger is the better contact to pick?

My personal opinion only: Make it where you have to be within a certain level to play it, just like a regular mission. Limit the autosk based on your current level. So that you can't be level 5 doing a level 50 mission.

First off, I'm not 50 yet and I'm not anywhere close to needing to go back and do old arcs. So this is just out of curiousity from reading other forum posts...

When you go back and do old arcs, do you get to go at full power? Or is it like exemplaring? Do you get the arc level influ or level 50? Just curious.

I know so little about it, my questions might not even make sense. >.<

Some days I log on and find a group almost immediately after I start looking for one. Those days I don't give AE a second thought.

Other days I can't find a group for a while, the missions I have are rough for me and that's when AE comes in. It passes the time and I get xp and influ and tickets. I usually get a level which allows me to go solo the stuff I couldn't find a group for.

I understand some of the AE bashing. I agree it would be better if more players were out in the rest of CoX instead of bunched up in AP. But I don't completely agree with the non-AE elitism that is coming across on the forums.

If someone doesn't choose me to do something because I don't have a certain amount of badges and accolades they're missing out on teaming with a (hopefully) kind, fun, willing-to-learn player.

When I do large teams as a lowbie (a rarity, I solo) I'll stick tight to the tank only leaving to pull a baddie off of one of my squishie teammates. If I see that I'm taking more damage than the tank, I'll lay off the aoes and focus on bosses/lts.

Yeah I started turning off my quills and fire aura sometimes. I just didn't know if I needed to count to 10 before jumping in or before turning them on or something.

Or it means leaving your character in the mission instance while you're busy doing any number of RL things, but don't feel like logging out or don't have time.

Simple fact is, don't make assumptions just because you /friend someone and see them logged in. Unless you see them broadcasting LFT or in the market or what have you, it's really none of your business what they decide to do with their time instead of team with you. If you have a bad experience with them, /playernote them and move on. Don't come whining about it here (same goes for the original poster).

They made it my business when they asked me to join them. I didn't even approach them initially. Only to be booted later. I'm not asking for sympathy, I'm just sharing my experience just like the OP and I think this *is* the place for it.

Hello I've got a spines/fire scrapper that I'm enjoying atm.

First of all I should admit I am a disgrace to the scrapper population. I am very hesitant when it comes to jumping in and ripping things apart.

I come from playing healers in my past and being extremely cautious about keeping myself alive and others alive.

I think my character is starting to be embarrassed to be played by me!

Now since that's off my chest I have a few questions.

What is the biggest cause of faceplants in groups?

My level being to low for the group?
My aoe?
Random villian singling me out?
How long does a tank need before I should follow in behind?

I don't mind dying (debt seems really easy to climb out of now) but I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong and could improve.

The first thing that came to my mind was improved LFT search function.

I've come to realize in order to have freedom, others must be free.

This is mostly because, after 3 YEARS he finally ran out of content that I can do solo. There is stuff I can do still, Ouroboros TFs, a couple of the Shard TFs need done, I have badges to get yet, but he has ZERO normal contacts left that he can get missions from.

I've sticked this for myself because of all the good tips.

For one the tip about SG mode. I asked about it specifically in-game yesterday no one told me about the penalty.

Speaking of salvage. I wanted to play around with creating enhancements so I haven't been selling anything yet.

Am I doing something wrong or is meant for us to hardly ever have space for recipes and salvage? I've been trying to hold on to recipes until I get the salvage to make things, but keep running out of space...

And one more question...

If you don't have much influ is it still better to keep your enhancements up to date as much as possible?

Is it better to try to get SOs, or stick to TOs when they are replaced quickly?

I guess my question is does it make that much of a difference to min/max your slots while leveling?

If they give out a free respec but I haven't used one I have already will I lose it?
