Greetings all,
I currently have a level 42 FM/WP scrapper and really enjoying to combo, however Im wondering if this is the best archetype for this combo.
Scrappers have great damage (of course), but Brute damage is great too, plus they have taunt and WP has advantages on a brute. I dont normally like chasing fury, but heck the advantages seems worth it.
I guess my real question might be with the tank. I understand the damage is less, but I forgot all about combustion. With going WP/FM/Pyre I cant help but to think that damage is going to be very good overall, even without great crits.
I understand the concept of tanks vs scrappers vs brutes, and the strengths of each class. I guess my real question is can this tank dish out the damage enough that I wont miss my scrapper?
BTW: Although I team when I can, I would say 80% of my game time is solo. Also, I dont AV hunt unless Im in a group.

I started working on my FM/WP scrapper for the past two weeks (one of my several projects) and I log him on for action about 80% of the time, which I don't have too much of. I think I'm at level 42 and I can't wait until I get fireball and really go to town.
I'm still working on the build, but this is what I have thus far in case it helps with ideas.

Scrappers,
I've really enjoyed my KM/EA toon, although he is only level 24 at this moment. I've been working on the build and made some changes, but I would like some folks to share any opinions.
I really wanted to add flight, but the problem I faced was trying to find a couple of other powers to add which did not need too many additional slots. Also, spring attack might not been needed, but I think it looks great and would be a nice first attack.
I really hate to miss, so I thought adding tactics would be nice.
I have plenty of influence and far too many enhancements stored, so no issue there.
Im looking to take vigor core
That being said..... ideas please?

Thanks folks, I think I'm going to continue with my KM/EA toon for a bit. I will always wonder about KM until I get him higher level.
I have a claws/Inv, SS/inv, WM/SD, Kat/WP and DM/WP which is why I'm not picking those primary powers. That being said, DM/EA does sound like a special combo.

oh, I forgot... I have a level 18 or so StJ/EA too. It's a nice combo, but I'm looking for something with a bit more AoE.

Over the past month Ive been building a few (too many) alts. I want to keep the /Energy Armor, but I have a KM/EA, FM/EA and a brute who is SS/EA. This is not the full list of the alts Ive created, just that I want to keep the /EA concept. I mostly solo and would like something for all content. I don't want a weapon on this toon, I already have a couple and I'm looking for a energy power kind of toon.
Help me pick!!!
Im thinking of staying with FM/EA. Ive turned the fire into a plasma energy theme. However, I guess the problem is I dont know what KM/EA is like at level 50. Its a nice set, but I just have too many alts.

Hello folks,
I've got this guy to level 22 or 23 and enjoying the game play. I am wondering if there is a better secondary to match with KM due to some of the holes, but I feel EA should be a good combo.
Anyways, I've been tweaking this build for some time and wondering if anyone hs some ideas on how to improve it. I have almost unlimited funds and don't mind working on the rest if I need to.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yup, I mostly use WP, so Im not as good with the different defensive styles.
Thanks very much for the advice and the tweaking . I have a couple more questions.
First, I noticed the LotG speed placed in Grant Cover broke the rule of 5. Furthermore, I mostly solo and with todays game being as it is at higher levels, is adding this power worth it so late in the game with so little return? Of course the extra hit points and regeneration are great, so I made some changes. I moved grant cover down and put three wall shields in there instead of LotG. This freed me up a slot since I took it away from Battle Agility. I added the extra slot into Hasten. Of course my questions would be does the Wall Shield bonus (+3 res) work even when not activated? Is there a better slot and does Grant Cover really help since I cant use it to add recharge time?
Hopeling, I see your point about Absolute Amazement. I still fear my potential overall end issues. I changed the Chance to Hit Proc to End/Stun. Since I mostly solo I thought adding in some extra stun would be a benefit and fun to watch. What I also noticed is that Mids did not show any extra bonus to the stun with the new Absolute Amazement. Is the stun effect capped to level 2? If so, any ideas as to a better slotting?

Found myself with some time recently to get some crime fighting in and been having a blast with a couple of toons. Now I want to ask about a WM/SD scrapper I'm working on. Although I've played CoH for a couple of years I've yet to make a shield toon, so I don't really know what I'm doing. I'm having a bunch of fun with this guy and could you professional advice. I took some ideas off of the scrapper section, but made some modifications for what "looks" right, but might not be.

Sorry for the delay in posting on this thread, but I lost my hard drive a while back and no longer had my build ready. Ok, so I think I got it at least mostly correct. Yes, this is an expensive build and might not be what you're looking for. Maybe gives you some ideas?
I have all of the accolade bonuses and I took Judgment and Spiritual. Remember, one of the defenses for a DM build is the healing in siphon life. Needless to say, I dont have endurance issue and I set dark consumption for AoE damage. I can get fire ball off 3 times before soul drain wears off, which is a lot of damage. I also have judgment when I want some extra damage.
What I dont like is using 6 slots for ring of fire, but the bonuses from enfeebled operations was too much to pass up.
I have not tweaked the build for some time and there is always areas for improvement, but Im impressed with this combo and build.

My intent is not to cause a war of any kind. I did review other threads before posting my thread, but of the ones I read there were other requests. I did find a couple of builds, such as one you posted Twoheadedboy (thank you), but people tweak and find things to improve all the time and I enjoy getting opinions from multiple people because most creative thoughts come from different opinions. Since I like melee play style I felt someone might have seen something there that could work for my experience.
I have found most people enjoy sharing their masterpieces, because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery or just to help. Also, many folks have limited game time as it is and making builds takes time, time I dont regularly have.
Anyways, I do appreciate the positive posts and look forward to trying a few things in game for enjoyment.

Sorry, I did not know the Kheldian forum build etiquette. Im use to other forums, like the scrapper forums, where if someone had already built something in Mids they are glad to share and tweak ideas to make them their own. I fully understand if someone wanted something that had not yet been created, but . I understand your concerns for copyright infringements.
Now I feel bad about the times Ive posted helpful build ideas to others and wish I gave them an opportunity to create something from scratch when they were looking for ideas. Thank you for the new look on helping others! I will do better next time.

I know this has been posted several times, but there are so many threads with different requirements its hard to track which is what.
Anyways, I want to work on my Human-only PB. I like my toons concept and so far the play style. I just had to get away from playing a scrapper or brute, I just have too many. I have a nice concept Im enjoying too, which I need to continue playing.
Anyways, Im looking for a human only PB with unlimited funding. I dont mind any using mule slots, but I just dont like glinting eyes (for this guy anyway). Im sure there are already builds made for this exact request cares to share? Im looking for a long term build.

Thanks for the thread posts folks... I went SJ/Energy, well... because I have not tried either. I am interested in trying SJ/SD or SJ/DA and I just might. I don't have a /sd toon.

I've been a busy guy in RL and just now unlocked SJ. I'm wondering if pairing it with WP is a good option, which I'm sure it is. However, is SJ better for brutes or scrappers, or does it even matter?

I was able to log on this morning to check on promotions.... for some reason the leader switched to the toon I've had the longest. The funny thing is I'm a one-person SG and I have maybe 8 toons in the SG, so nobody else could have demoted my guy. Crazy

I just downloaded CoH on a new computer, but now I cant pay my SGs prestige, which is a bit past due. When I go to the SG registration in AP I can either transfer my own influence to purchase SG prestige, see all of the registered SGs or leave.
Did I miss a download or something? BTW I can enter my SG, if that matters. -
If I were to roll a mace guy I would try shield. First, they just seem to be "right" together, but I also guess it would be a powerful combo.
I have a DM/WP toon and my only concern has been the need for additional AoE attacks. I took blaze epic to help with that problem and it's been fantastic for damage. My only problem has been that it does not fit my concept too well. Now I'm looking into Spring Attack from the jumping power pool to see if that fixes both problems (AOE and concept).
Taking DM/WP would work great for a brute too. You would have higher HP which works great with you Siphon Life. You would also have access to Gloom and Dark Obliteration, two powers I wish I could add into my arsenal. Soul Drain works better on scrappers I believe and I hate chasing fury, so there that tradeoff. If I were to start a DM/WP I would have a hard choice between the two archetypes.
I know a few people who love the brute version of DM/FA and I can understand why! These two power sets just feed off of each other.
There are so many options, so the choice is hard. Im now playing a KM/EngA with a dark concept and enjoying him.

Ive not seen any posts about Spring Attack yet and I dont think MIDs is fixed for I21 yet. This spring attack could be just what I am looking for! I have a DM/WP scrapper and I took blaze because I needed some AoE damage. Although that works great, it has changed my concept some and I would rather this scrapper not use fire.
Anyone test out spring attack yet or know where I can get some data on it?

Hello all,
I have a few questions as to what to do with my DM/WP/Blaze scrapper. I already have T4 Spiritual and working towards T4 Judgment/Void. Im pretty sure I will take Barrier, but I have no idea what to take for my Lore or Interface. The problem with Lore is I would want a pet that goes along with a dark hero, so I would really appreciate ideas there.
I guess what I really need to know is what to do with my Incarnate Merits. I dont find enough time to do the trials, so its not like I have a ton. What I really want/need to do is finish my Judgment, because right now I have knockback and that drives me nutty for this build.
Looking at the Incarnate store I really dont see anything I want at the moment. So, should I trade the merits for threads? Should I hold on the empyrean merits until I have enough for a rare salvage? Or are there known upgrades in I21 I should just wait and see?
