    1. Because exploits keep popping up there, as much as it has been 'regulated.'

    2. Because farms, which are not allowed, are too easy to create and run through before the process of find-report-remove can take effect.

Double XP in AE will never happen under the current system. If there was a more strenuous system for vetting new arcs before they could be flagged to give rewards, then *maybe* AE would get double XP.
  2. This sounds like the bug where the powers on a Third Build kept disappearing when zoning. The last patch supposedly fixed that.
  3. While fighting BM, BHing other mobs is useful to get them from doing damage to you and your teammates... as long as you don't accidentally BH BM, too.

When BM is away, you want to kill the three waves of Champions (the female warriors). BHing them will slow that down. You can't kill what you phase. However, while BM is away, the Swords can be BH'd, since they don't matter. In fact, by BHing the last few Swords you keep dumb teammates from killing them initiating a new wave of Swords.

BH is very situational and is more of a 'buy us some time' power.

    Alpha slot.....

When I switched sides, I was able to do Ramiel's arc a second time!

    Now apologize to the Beastyle.
  7. Maybe it got on your antivirus black list. Disable it and see if you can connect.

In fact, try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can connect.

Really? Which DP attacks take longer than 6 seconds to animate?

Oh that's right, none. You just can't stop yourself from queuing up the next attack.

It's very simple: play your melee like they're a blaster. Attack - move - attack - move - attack - move. If you do that, you're always ready to move if there's the warning patch and not stuck executing the attack you queued up.

    Please help

In your CoH directory, there should be a file called keybinds.txt. Open it with Notepad.

If this isn't in that file place it in there as a separate line:

    . "++disable2D"

That is a period, a space, quote, plus, plus, disable2D, quote

Save the file (if it didn't exist in the first place, open Notepad, type in that line and save as keybinds.txt).

Now go into the game. The period key should toggle the UI on and off.
  11. Flush the DNS, that sometimes helps.

    1. Windows Start menu > Run > command

    or

Windows Start menu > put 'command' in search > choose "command prompt"

    2. At the C:> prompt type: ipconfig /flushdns

    3. Then RETURN.

    4. Close command window.

    See if that fixed it.
  12. Yes, the original meaning of 'tyrant' was one who had absolute power.

The Athenians found that useful in times of war.

Then they get all uppity when the tyrant refused to relinquish said power when the war is over.

Same thing happened entering the Age of Enlightenment when 'power to the people' hippies disparaged the tyranny of monarchs which was perfectly fine for feudal Europe... at least that's what the peasants were taught.

They are finding things all the time they used to think impossible and we really only "know-know" a very teeny tiny miniscule small amount about what's out there. So even if something is a stretch, due the the vast scale of the universe, not only could something "unlikely" or "unrealistic" happen in one place, chances are it could be in many many places.
    That's not how that works.

Sure, we get surprised by things in the natural realm quite often. But very odd things which we were surprised by are either total surprises or, they were predicted by the math, but doubted that it happened in actuality (wow, Black Holes as predicted by Relativity really do exist!). It's not the case that we envisioned a very unlikely scenario simply because it would be a neat idea and... *surprise*... it turned out exactly that way!

The very very very very very very very very very very very unlikely planetary system of BG is a particular set-up that requires 'the perfect alignment' to happen. But what makes it unlikely we'll ever find such a set up is that each element that needs to be in place is also very unlikely. And gathering together so many unlikely elements all at once is very*2^100 unlikely.

Imagine a 'story' that relied on rolling a six on a die a million times in a row. Unlikely, right? But it's possible! Do it enough times and it will happen! Right?

So, do this: Roll a die a million times to see if you roll a six every time. Even if your first roll is a one, go ahead with the million rolls. You don't get to stop in the middle if it's not going your way. The universe doesn't restart itself if the planetary system you check isn't like the one in BG. Roll it a million times. If it's not all sixes, then roll again a million times. And if that's not all sixes, roll again a million times. Keep going till you get a million sixes in a row from beginning to end.

See just how unlikely that is? Doing it billions of billions of times doesn't make it likely to happen.

Now imagine the die was loaded to favor ones. *Now* how likely are the million sixes in a row?

Besides. As constructed, that quad-star system would have gravitational tidal forces that would chew to bits anything less than giant sized planets, which, of course, couldn't support human life due to hits hypergravity.
  14. Any AoE or Cone power, especially if it already does no or low damage. On my Dark Defender, depending on the build, I have one in Fearsome Stare, Tenebrous Tentacles, and Dark Servant.

Also, since four from that set gives 6.25% Recharge, I often slot the set.
  15. Going off the PI map and zoning into Talos is supposed to be Working As Intended. Although, it was a mechanic never really used again til perfected with 'Vista Zoning' in Praetoria.

Zoning into Talos *outside* the zone wall is a bug, though. Falling off the map when outside the zone wall is typical.

Usually '/stuck' puts you back into normal zone space.

You get bonus points if you name them alphabetically and consecutively like the names in a logic puzzle: "Adam, Beth, Cathy, David, Elizabeth, and Frank sat down a dinner table..."

    Alpha
    Blasty
    Critters
    Debuffo
    Etc...

    LOL

That quadruple star system and planets are as stable as the BG plotline.

Only a angel of the One True God could have made that system let alone keep it from tearing itself apart within a year.

Alright then. If you're having trouble with ordinary spawns, then it should be expected you won't be able to defeat an Elite Boss.

First, lower your difficulty level. Find a Fortunata and set your self to one player and -1 level, no Bosses, no AV/HEROES.

Second, are your enhancements all level 50, or are they in the red?

    What's your AT and powersets?

O that's right they never have. No I'm not bitter.
Right from CoV Beta, MMs got added to the original design: Auto-TP and Bodyguard. Over time, they got not only run speed increased but they got SuperLeap. They also got one-click buffing and pet-zoning. Death penalties in PvP hospitals had their zeroing out of END removed since it's unfair to MMs. In fact since I19 Beta, certain death penalties were tried and removed because they'd be unfair to MMs.

And most recently, they changed the code so that pets level shift with their MMs and looking to make sure new buffs affect pets and not just the MM.

Also, pets were given a buff to resist Battle Maiden's attacks.

All this even though the MM is one of the quickest levelers in the game.

The Single Shoulder Mantles were available to me for all three body models with a brand new toon. Although, it's a long time bug that the Valkyrie Single Shoulder Mantle is missing.

Maybe the NCSoft store was down and not keeping track of Vet Rewards at that time?

I go from vsync cap of 60fps down to 20fps in some of those areas; and I got the same results before I changed from my 8800GTX to my 275GTX vid card. You're going to get a performance hit in those areas and there's not a lot you can do about it.
The ITF lag is caused by too many NPCs all spawned at once with many patrols trying to figure out pathing over uneven terrain. The lag is more server side than client side.

The other 'black holes of fps' you mention are caused by improperly manufactured environment. Two main causes are certain animations and 'transparent to draw' objects.

Certain fire animations create a huge fps hit. The same with the giant animated screens of Recluse in Grandville. I bug them when I find them. Most of the fire ones got changed.

Draw transparency happens when a building or wall or floor is 'invisible' to the draw engine. The engine will draw and keep track of everything which is behind that texture, even though you can't see it. In crowded city scenes with lots of shadows... that becomes really graphically intensive. An example of that was when Ultra Mode was introduced. The engine was drawing and shadowing 'rooms' that were under the map (e.g., the interior of city hall is not in the building but floating under the Altas Map). So, when you looked down at the pavement under the statue of Atlas, your fps dropped because the engine was seeing and drawing that room. They've since changed that to make flooring opaque to the draw engine.

The Grandville statue of Recluse area takes a double hit because not only do the animated screens hit fps, but there are many of them, and the buildings there are transparent to the animations. So, when you look up at the statue of Recluse, the engine is drawing the two screens in view to you, but also the five screens on the other side of the building which you can't see.

When you find a 'black hole of fps', move around and look around to try to triangulate in on what's causing the fps drop. Most places I've /bugged got fixed.

Go more to the middle of the island and drop down to the lowest level where the base of the pyramids are. And from there try to get to the waypoint.
