    Appropriately - another list!

Some people's definition of harassment is "that guy glanced at my cleavage when he was waiting on me at the store, he's harassing me!"

Also, you'd be amazed at the number of women who make a big show of being offended when someone looks at their chest, who are then smiling as they walk away.

(I work at a job where I have the opportunity to observe people without drawing much attention to myself, few people notice the janitor)
I was actually agreeing with you. For myself, looking alone will never constitute harassment. There needs to be something more - a comment or action - before it reaches that stage.

That said, there's a difference between, say, checking someone out as he or she walks past and getting up and following them around making comments. The first happens, don't sweat it. It's silly to get offended or outraged about. The second is when you get security (or make sure there's not toilet paper stuck to your shoe or something.)
    Exactly!

    edit - sp.
  3. BTW - my FF/DP fender is named Tina Beretta.
  4. Nope - I stand on the sidelines and cheer. Blind in one eye means no depth perception and a really big blind spot, so letting someone swing stick at me is really no fun at all - for me or for the person who hits me so easily with no challenge.

I hate the running animation for both the male & huge models, so I will keep playing female heroes/villains/rogues/vigilantes.

Put me in the camp of people (notice the generic noun) wear some types of clothing to get others looking at them. When they do so and people *do* look at them, then the wearing of those clothes was a successful strategy.

But that doean't mean they expect to get harassed, although, I would like to know what behavior the OP felt was harassing (so far not defined as far as I can see) - one person's teasing or joking comment can be another's harassment.

Way too many consonates and not enough vowels.

On the OP - The impression I have is that CoH has a fairly healthy "female in real life" population. Harassers can and should be stopped, but what behavior did you do that made "him" (generic) think you were female and therefore harassable? I'm not saying "blame the victim, not the victimizer", but with the somewhat anonimity of a game where anyone can play a character of any gender and no one knows the true gender of the player - assumptions about the player behind the character are useless.
  7. The new plan works out great for me since I will be out of town with no computer access attending the Great Pennsic War on 8/9 (the repeat Posi week, missing out on the WST, but oh, well).
  8. I'm out for the next three Saturdays at the Great Pennsic War. See you all after that.

    Good luck & good hunting!
  9. Is this on your first costume slot? That one has to be the Arachnos costume for a VEAT.

To get the other costumes, you will need to open a second costume slot and go to the Facemaker to purchase the second costume. As a VEAT, one of them should have opened at level 10 by doing the VEAT story arc (I think, I only have a couple of VEATs). At level 20, do a mission for the Facemaker in Cap au Diable and open another costume slot which can also be customized as you see fit.
  10. Meh.

I would like to have my global name as a character there (unsure what powersets, but a blaster, obviously). I have it reserved on lowbie throwaway alts on a couple of servers and as an active character on Liberty IIRC.

But not really bad enough to take a day off work to get it.
  11. Save me a spot, please!

Don't know I will bring yet. I have a baby Bubbles/Pistols Fender, or I might start a new character entirely, or I might try to get Winter Shock thru the set for TFC.

Then he's mad that he doesn't know how many slots he'll need for the powers in the new sets, when his current build schemes don't make any sense anyways.
I *think* Rx10 was thinking that Time Manipulation was going to be a power pool that could be added to any character. If it were a power pool, he was thinking that he could add it by respec'ing, but because of inherent Fitness, etc., he was concerned that he would run out of enhancement slots .

Several of us tried to explain to him that Time Manipulation is going to be a Primary or Secondary powerset for some ATs, so he would not be able to respec his existing character into the set. That is my interpretation of his /ragequit over Time Manipulation.
  13. Do you intend that these new labels replace the current titles (taken from badges, for the most part) immediately under the character name?

I prefer having one of the badge names under my character name because usually I can find one that helps describe the character or perhaps just tickles my sense of the absurd. So I would probably set the tag to "never show" in order to keep the badge title, defeating the purpose of the change you are proposing.

OTOH, if this new tag is in addition to the current badge or other title under the character name - I don't think I would like that either, because that's potentially a good bit of text under the character name.

I guess that I don't see that much of a problem with recruiting leagues that inadvertantly include players who can't access the Incarnate content, when the recruited/leader can add the requirement of access. It's not really that much different from adding a requirement that the character must have access to Cimerora in order to run an ITF, or must be of a certain level in order to run a particular TF.

And the downside to having the titles you are proposing is that it could create some sort of twisted elitism - "Oh, I can see by your tag that you are a free player..."

At first, I was kinda "meh" about the idea, but as I wrote this post, I have found myself thinking that it's not needed because it "solves" a non-problem that exists for several different types of content (Cimerora access for ITF, level 45 for LGTF, etc.) in addition to Incarnate content and has an easy solution in the message used by the leader to recruit the team.

    One of many

Regarding server choice - you are currently on Union - does that mean you play porimarily during prime time (evening) EU hours? If so, you may want to stay on Union for the time beeing. Prior to the server list merge adding access to both the European servers (Union, Defiant, Vigilence, & the German one) and the NA servers (ther rest of them on the list), Union had a higher number of players.

But if you play primarily during other hours, you may want to consider moving. Most of the NA servers are busier during prime time evening hours for the US/Canada time zones, but some of them also have a bit of a population concentration at other hours - for example, Justice has a concentration of players from Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, etc.) so playing during those prime time evening hours (sorry, I don't remember the conversion except that it's roughly morning in the US when it's prime time evening hours in Australia) might be better.

You can also check each of the server forums below. Ask for rough guesstimates of the number of players during your best playtime hours - generally, we are friendly and will invite strangers to join us, especially at off-peak hours. While you are there, ask for the global channels used for teaming & TFs and ask for an invite if one is required.
  15. Maurya will try very hard to make it to join you. 'Twas fun learning the BAF with you today!
  16. Remember that you will need to visit all the badge locations while in SG Mode for whatever zone you are gifting to him. Even if you have already gotten the badge individually, you have to get it again for the SG. And be warned - the message "Badge Received" won't show up for this second time around, so be very careful and pass over the location a couple of times to make sure it "takes".

As long as you get the badges/zones done while in SG Mode, they will be available to the SG even after you quit.
  17. Since I am having trouble committing in advance to be available for these - but I really like the group - I will show up at Numina if I can, without taking a spot from someone who commits to taking a spot.

    Trial acct & SG

The amount of time a Leader can be inactive is a setting under the SG Options. The longest it can be is 45 days.

When the SG Leader is inactive for that amount of time, the next character who logs on is promoted to Leader. If you had other players in the SG, one of them became Leader. I have inherited at least 2 SGs in that way, but allowed one of them to go to another active player (who was also not the original Leader).

Note that there have been several discussions in the Base Construction forum about how long to keep "founding members" in an SG once leadership changes due to the original leader's long-term inactivity. Some people keep founders indefinitely in the SG, some kick at various points in time. For the SGs that I personally "inherited", I kick any inactive character after the two-year mark.
  19. Both of you will need to be in-game at the same time. You can just use the "promote" button.

None of the guides listed in the first post go past 2009.

But the thread is lengthy and players continue to update by adding Guides by posting in the thread - and the most recent guides were added in March 2011 (a Psi/MM by Ordius & a new Elec/Elec/Elec Blaptroller by Phantasm).

If someone wants their Guide added to the first post, ZM is correct about how that happens (and I trust ZM as the guru of Guides).

Thank you clearing up what you were asking, though.

    I'm still confused.

For example - the Guides thread stickied at the top of the Blaster forum was indeed started by CuppaJo when she was here. And yes, she did move on some time ago.

But players have continued to add to the thread since then, and the last Guides added to it were posted in 2011, not 2009.

I also checked the Brute forum and found recent posts in that forums stickied Guide thread as well.

So what are you suggesting exactly - that Zwill or someone unsticky those threads and start brand new ones? To what purpose?
  22. Sign up Agoniste (fire/rad troller), unless we need MOAR DAMAGE!

In which case, I have a blaster or two who could be persuaded to take down the Spider.
  23. You know, what I am enjoying most about reading this thread is all the great names my fellow players have found for their characters!
  24. My level 50s -

Maurya (eng/elec/elec blaster) Alpha unlocked & slotted, think I put something in the tier just past Alpha
Brighid Frost (fire/ice/elec blaster) Alpha unlocked & slotted
Libby Belle (katana/regen/body mastery scrapper) nada
    Isotope 167 (rad/dark/dark defender) nada

Alts below 50 - over 65 across 10 servers, a few in their 40s, played much more frequently.

I have never done a trial on Live. I guess I will get around to it someday.
  25. If you don't have someone you can invite to the SG for purposes of inviting members, oftentimes, you can get a volunteer if you post in the Base Construction forum.

I have done this for a couple of fellow SG heirs (you inherited an SG) by creating a throwawy alt for just that purpose.
