  1. Well Scrapper and Brutes both tend to solo well, and work well on teams.

Masterminds solo well and are nice on teams although some people complain if you don't handle your pets well. And or course Ill/Rad Controllers

Those are probably the top ATs for doing the absolutely hardest things (soloing AV, soloing Pylons etc.)

On top of that, you'll have higher (self-)buff numbers, stronger debuffs, and longer-lasting mezzes all the time, including on a team when individual damage is less important than the higher degree of force multiplication.
Personally I think it'll be pretty balanced solo. I know that I always get a lot of usage from Scourge when soloing my Corruptor. The way I see it both Defenders and Corruptors will deal the same damage solo but Corruptors will always get Scourge while Defenders get better buffs/debuff which may or may not be useful.

That being said I do see where you're coming from. With Going Rogue the primary reason to roll a Corruptor over a Defender is that Corruptors solo a lot more easily. Defenders have always been superior on teams. I think Defenders do need a boost solo but maybe Corruptors should get a team boost to compensate.

Personally I've never liked the idea that being useful on a team has to mean that you suck solo (in any game) but that's an old argument.

Well as I said in that thread, assuming that it's a damage buff as opposed to an increase in base damage and that both characters have 95% damage enhancement it puts us at about 2% higher damage than Corruptors. Since they get Scourge they will still deal more damage solo than us.

Well I17 will likely be out sometime in April and I18 is probably going to be the "housekeeping" patch they release alongside Going Rogue.

My guess is it'll be more like the Kheldian Inherents and apply some sort of buff/debuff for each teammate present. That seems the easiest way to give Defenders something that only works solo, give them an "always on" buff then apply a debuff to remove it when teaming.

So it does work sometimes. I tested it a bunch of times and have yet to see it proc at all. In either case it's coming out once I17 goes live (I'll need to respec then to sort out my BotZ sets anyway).

It depends. If you're talking about the current ability to only retain 10 enhancements then there's room just people who support it aren't bothering to post because let's face it the arguments been made many, many times. Personally, I'm fine with the 10 enhancements rule, it's a nice compromise.

If you think the current respec interface is fine then no there isn't room, get out .
  9. Well they said it's aimed at helping Defenders solo better. Maybe a damage boost when solo (or on smaller teams)?

The -Kb IOs are globals so they work whether or not you use the power. However they stop working if you exemp more than three levels below the IO level.

You are getting them confused with Proc120s (like numina's and the kismet special IO) which require you to use the power every 2minutes in order to get the benefit (but conversely don't care about the level of the IO itself.

Ok I double checked. Basically the ones where you place the the on the ground (Acid Mortar, Poison Trap, Trip Mine and presumably Time Bomb) require you to be in contact with the ground. You can still use them with a flight power activated, you just have to go down to the ground.

You can solo 1-50 using Brawl if you want to. However, the fact that it takes a long time is not a reason to buff Brawl.

As for introducing new tools, that fact that a tool doesn't exist is not alone sufficient reason to introduce it.

I just started one a few days ago and I can safely say that at level 10 he does good damage . Realistically it's not going to be one of the higher damage controllers but it should be ok. I picked up Jump Kick at level 6 and I'd definitely recommend taking that or Air Superiority to give you a semi-decent single target attack chain.

As others said, it is extremely unlikely to happen. It would be basically equivilent to giving all charaters a free level 50 for every existing one with the only restriction being it has to have the same name and origin as the existing one. Also, it would be the AE noob problem all over again. Leveling up a character remains one of the best ways to learn to actually play it, being handed free level 50s is not.

I think there are relatively few people who do the whole two characters/one person thing so it's not something that's in high demand thematically anyway.

That being said, I know where you're coming from, I recently finished leveling my Traps/AR defender who represents my AR/Dev blaster in a different suit of armor .

Yeah, I agree. I THINK he's basically re-proposing the complete list of bad ideas from the suggestions forum (with the exception of a market price cap).

    Specifically:
Allowing us to change powesets and origin as part of a respec (for cash)

An expansion pack that turns the Shadow Shard in a PvPvE zone with pre-I13 PvP rules and very high drop rates for Purples and PvPIOs

Making the Shard villain accessible with new TFs

    An official version of Mids

This is my opinion as well. It wouldn't directly impact the price of the really good stuff, people are already willing to burn multiple respecs to unslot them so they aren't getting repsec sold anyway. What it would do is cause an increase in the supply of the moderate IOs, things like Positron's Blast, Mako's Bite, Obliteration, Scirocco's Dervish etc. The sets with good bonuses but some rarity which people tend to slot as the backbone of their build. This in itself isn't horrible, as you noted it lowers the barriers to entry. The problem is that the extra Inf from these being cheaper pushes the prices of the good stuff up even higher and makes it even harder to afford them without marketeering or lucky drops.

Fair enough. The fact remains that the tools are there, whether you use them is up to you.

Oh yeah, without a doubt +Recharge is the most useful set bonus a team-oriented Empath can have (ranged defense is also useful, but it helps more solo than teamed). Unfortunatly +Recharge is popular for a lot of builds so the price of the useful sets with it tends to be high.

If you want to get serious about IO'ing I highly recommend Mid's Hero Designer you can design your build there and then post it on the forums for advice:

Also, this page on the wiki is a useful resource when IO'ing.

That is the really nice thing about AE though. You can trade tickets for a much more controlled salvage selection. 540 tickets gets you a piece of rare salvage that you can self for at least 2million. You can get that pretty easily in a few hours play just by running some random story arcs and doing that a couple of times will easily pay for SOs to 50.

Personally? Heck no. I'd save a bit on common IOs for leveling up but at the cost of a complete inability to resell or transfer to another character any extremely valuable set IOs that I've decided I no longer want.
