Null was the BEST THING to ever happen to CoH!
If Null is not brought back, I will never be happy again!!!
Join me at the Null protest. -
I was never told ahead of time that my paid-for booster pack travel powers wouldn't work while doing the Ouroboros badges that required travel powers to be suppressed.
I was never told ahead of time that my paid-for booster travel powers would be suppressed while attacking in PvE and suppressed in PvP when attacking or being attacked.
I was never told that the costumes I paid for in booster packs couldn't be changed into instantly but had to obey a 15 second costume change cool down.
I was never told in advance that many of the paid-for booster powers had a recharge cool-down and were not instantly available to me again as soon as I activated it. (Go ahead and look for the advertised recharge times of powers in boosters.)
And so, I never developed the idea that a pay-for extra meant that it was exempted from any of the game's mechanics that limited the usage of powers and other features.
The idea that pay-for means unrestricted privileged usage is actually quite ridiculous. -
Ya know... there used to be *daily* maintenance.
It used to be that about every other patch introduced server instability that made playing for the next few days a horrible experience (e.g., hardcore rubberbanding) and required another 'server stability' patch... or two... in the following weeks.
It used to be that by Sunday evening, going the weekend without a maintenance period would make the servers crash.
So, what we have now is a pretty good thing. -
Hey, I got one...
Fusionette, Lady Jane, General Aarons, and Lt. Dietrich walk into a bar... and agro the whole town. -

Team-only buffs are purposely excluded from League-wide application in order to prevent the League from being overpowered. This was a design goal given explicit consideration by the Devs. So, it is highly unlikely that will ever be changed. And, IMO, it definitely would be overpowered, so, I'm not on board with asking for a change.
However, the Devs are looking into making Recall Friend and other TP powers League-wide since that would not be an example of over-buffing. -
In a way, the WST has been one of the greatest things in the game for TFs and Trials. Any bugs in them get hammered and reported over and over. The Wiki pages for them get detailed updates. Players get introduced to something they somehow have missed out on. TFs get done more often on less populated servers because everyone's attention is focused on the WST which has a shiny that people want. Newbies learn from Vets how to do these TFs. And showstoppers, like the ones Eden has, finally get fixed.
Makes me hope that the reluctance of using the Shadowshard TFs because they're just to derned long will prompt a fixing for them, too. -
Z, you're just a Virtuite at heart, aren't you?
Evidence here. -

Quote:...To reiterate what Avatea said, we've been in regular communication with the Web Dev team trying to sort out the issues affecting the forums. We consider these operational affecting problems and as such are giving them the proper amount of consideration.
Thanks to everyone for being patient with issues such as the slow load times and random log outs. As these forums are a part of our day to day work, we understand that these particular problems can be very frustrating. -
This was advertised in the email as "Bring a Friend Back for Free" which made it sound like the reactivation is dependent on a player invitation; but this announcement makes it sound like a blanket free reactivation week.

Quote:I got it now, thanks! The Lucky badge should be awarding. Please let me know if you are not getting it.
But, there has been a change in the way badges are awarding:
The Constant, Lucky, and Loyal Customer all got awarded this past week without the usual splash screen and system reward message in chat when logging in. Same for all toons.
(And for those following along: yes, I did check Most Recent and Events tabs for Lucky before making this thread.) -
It wound up in my spam folder. It's from: newsletters@ncsoft.com.
And you have to have receive newsletters enabled on your account page and they need to have your correct email address. -
According to the email sent out:
Quote:However, it has not been awarded. Not on May 1 (which I thought it odd that this would start on Sunday) and not today on May 2, even though it is past 6 AM PST (even past Pacific *Daylight* Time).New 7-Year Anniversary Badge
Unlock the "Lucky" badge for each character that you log in with from starting at 6:00a.m. PST on May 1st to 11:59p.m. PST on May 31st. -
Negative Stealth removes your stealth *to foes* when you're near the escort*. It unfortunately doesn't make the escort see you better.
Think of it like clicking a glowie... it suppresses your Stealth.
*Negative Stealth is a roaming sprite that follows the hostage. It can sometimes lag behind the hostage. -
Known bug from last patch which was supposed to make temp travel powers work in Incarnate Trial.

The New York Times actually gave it a good review.
Well, they basically intimated, that as far as cinematic arts go, its pure refuse. But so is a hot dog with all the works, and yet, we all enjoy one now and then. -
Quote:Not at all. They said they should be killed if they were us. Strike one.Does it bother anyone else that the Doctor just began the genocide of the Silence?
The Doctor gave them a chance to surrender. Strike two.
The Doctor's game of last chance before you are destroyed only has two strikes. -

I made a Kin on my second account whose only job is to stand at the top of the Expert Course in the Chalet spamming Inertial Reduction while I'm afk so that folks can get the badges. Some others have joined me.

The list is missing:
11. Time Out.
Which CoH uses by having you rez in hospitals and trudge back to your fight. Sort of half of the corpse run. Toggling up and running back is the minimum Time Out penalty. Then you can add timed doors, like with the iTrials, which, depending on when you rezzed in hospital can be anywhere from 1-20 seconds. Although, since there's an inspiration vendor there, a timed door may be actually doing you a favor... -
Quote:No, it *is* a bug.I'll thank you to not put words in my mouth.
No, I wasn't being sarcastic.
The Eden Trial level limitation is an intended design feature. As such, it is WAI. Now, we can debate whether that's a good or a bad feature, but what it is NOT is a bug.
All trials and TFs in the game were changed so that someone who has outleveled them can start them through the auto-exemp feature. Eden got overlooked. But, as my post above explains, it has bigger problems than not properly auto-exemplaring.
