A thought occurred to me.
I hope they aren't pulling a I18 holding off the fix until the next full issue hits. In a lot of ways such an act would be too little too late since as was shown with the ally fix many won't know about it since it was buried in the Patch Notes. -

Didn't see SupaFreak but me and Bubbawheat joined TeChameleon to help test Small Fears.

This was also mentioned on the Ustream and a few others have been posting it around:
Quote:Got this straight from Synapse via PM:
-Alkaloid: I've increased the potency of this power by a fair amount.
-Envenom & Weaken: I've added a small splash around this power. The initial target receives the full effect of the debuff while nearby targets received half of the effect.
-Poison Trap: This power now has an initial hold, has a recovery debuff and deals minor toxic damage. -
I agree. Umbral Torrent will be decent if not great if the KB is guaranteed but will be suicide if random. I think that was one of the worst decisions made with Kinetic Melee yet one of the strongest things about Claws.

Quote:Actually, I could easily picture an Ice Controller going into melee and probably Fire Control as well. It would seem to make more sense as an ally targeted power though I wonder if it was made PBAOE due to thoughts of Mind (no pet), Gravity (built in repel field...though that might actually be good surprisingly), or Corruptors as a whole due to soloing. Plus, the devs may WANT some risk involved due to the controls Controllers offer and Phantom Army's invincibility. No Corruptor or Controller is going to get into PBAoe range in order to debuff enemies
Noxious Gas should gain ally targeted status, though. That would still allow it to be used on pets yet it could be applied to melee ATs. Even if the melee AT is a Stalker since I was pleasantly surprised to see that when a teammate hit me with Sonic Dispersion it still debuffed yet didn't aggro and didn't break Hide. -
What interests me is, wasn't Leo_G's proposed Ice Armor for Stalkers suggestion similar to what we're getting? Regardless, looking forward to this.

I was sitting and thinking about something concerning Repulse -> Disrupt. Is the base purpose of Repulse the KB or is the base purpose of Repulse control? If the latter, this change may be more of a forceful bend than a break. I also wonder if this is a 100% removal of the KB or will some of it remain in a low mag. Mag 1 KB would be pretty disruptive yet would be easier to manage plus it could still be slotted for those who want stronger KB.
-
I think this is just the Controller and Corruptor versions. Guess we'll see. Also, they really need to rename Poison Trap, even if it's just something as simple as "Noxious Trap".
-
Ice Stalkers sounds awesome. However, the reveal that animations can't be changed means that Gravity Control may still be in the same state that it's in. I'm also rather worried about the possible changes to Dominators and the possible precedent set by the Repulse -> Disrupt change.

If you have an SG base, the Empowerment machines offer a craftable passive that lasts an hour.

To my understanding, no such maps exist. While people like you might have perfectly pure minded intentions, the power leveling in the past has a large "this is why we can't have nice things" aspect since others would just make a farm where the enemies can't fight back.
Perhaps we can brainstorm a partial compromise. The Council Empire map (I think you have to buy it) has a lot of sandbags and barricades on it. While it won't prevent enemies from closing in, it can add a bit of an obstacle. Add in some range preferring enemies, perhaps even some Sniper class enemies, and that might work out. -
Maybe I'm overlooking it but does anyone know what they are?

Are you outright looking for villainous arcs or are you okay with vigilante arcs leaning more towards the darker side? If the latter you may want to try Operation Oedipus: Glory of our Empire (#372767) and Operation Oedipus: Day of Infamy (#505627). Mainly the sequel but playing the first arc probably places it in better perspective.

Quote:While it could possibly stand a small tweak here or there, this guide is pretty useful: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?p=3127914 A few things I slightly disagree with here or there (status protection isn't bad if it's uncommon) but it's a very good guideline. If there is a guide about balancing custom mobs, with the standard or hard or extreme settings, I'd appreciate a pointer to it.

Quote:All things considered, doesn't Carson actually make a snide comment about your outfit when you get his costume unlock mission in the actual game? I'll have to double check at some point. Though it is a valid point that even if he's a little snobbish, he wouldn't actually want to see his employees get hurt.I wasn't sure exactly what you meant by this until I replayed the mission. I'll have to rework his dialogue, because that's not the impression I was trying to get. The intention was more along the lines of "They're well-disciplined and loyal, and neither they nor I will give up the information you want." Not sure how I'll adjust it, but I'll figure something out.
Quote:And the Ascendants! WHAT WAS I THINKING?
Quote:When I made the arc, we couldn't customize power selections, so I had no choice in the matter. I didn't think he scaled up to AV; I thought he was EB all the time. I'll double check that. If you DID get an AV, that was unintentional.
I never ran into either of those powers when I fought him. However, the End drain from EB-scaled Electric Melee is nuts. I may change his power set. I'm not sure.
Whatever you finally decide for editing the arc, let me know and I'll be glad to run it again. -
A number of people I've spoken with in game have had the problem of a unique boss spawning multiple times. While it's something second nature to me, the system is not quite as intuitive as it should be for this. While I may clean it up and expand it later, this is just a quick visual guide for setting this option.
First up is simply going to a terminal (or using your accolade), going to My Creations and the My Enemy Groups tab. I'll simply select the Temp group for this.
The only two options are to Edit the group or Delete it. When you Edit you get the following screen. I've cropped it since the left side stuff isn't important for this specific guide (plus, it was large).
Custom Character Preview is usually expanded to show you the enemy but I clicked it to minimize and thus make it easier to show the enemies. They're broken up into Minions, LTs, Bosses, and a combined group of Elite Bosses and AVs. However, it doesn't show anything designated with the Person setting. For this example, I decided to right click Rose Star.
See how it pops up two options? Click the Don't Auto Spawn radio button to activate it. If successful, it'll grey out the character's name.
By doing this, the selected enemy will only show up when you manually choose them for an objective. It's actually good practice to set this for any EB or AV in your arc to prevent the random chance of them popping up in large spawns. -

Backfire was on the team. I showed up but instead wound up pugging to help someone tweak their arc. Was fun and met some people. I'm hoping similar grassroots situations are presented for people who aren't on the community team member's team.

Quote:Which makes me wonder if anyone here has been raising the question (or trying to) when the Devs do their USTREAM chats with us? They're usually all in the general area, so I wonder how many times it would take to raise the question before they realize that it still needs to be fixed. -
I think the "problem" with those is that most seem to be physical swords endowed with an element rather than swords created from the element out of thin air. It would be cool for some of those though.
-
The arc actually has two sequels if you enjoyed the first one.

That's why, when respectfully done, discussions about the various "-isms" are needed. A lot of stuff is far more ingrained than it should be and it has been shown to be harmful. As said, it's doubtful any of this was deliberate though that may actually be far worse. I'll even point to myself. Psyche's face is really offputting but I didn't even mentally register her actual pose at first. We'll see if the image remains as is or if it gets adjusted.
