Quote:Paragon Studios hasn't been as clear as they should be on that issue.I still find the situation odd because if you let your become a premium and you paid for GR your not supposed to lose content that is in the game. From what i understand i will not lose all the features that came with issue 19 or 20 aside from the trial, though i've still paid for GR, why is that i have to lose this content too? I've paid for the ability to use it.
For VIPs/subscribers, everything you've bought is yours and you have access to it.
For Premium, everything you've bought is yours and you *may or may not* have access to it.
If you don't have access to it, it's essentially 'greyed out' in that it is still there, but not accessible. If you jump back to VIP mode, it all is made accessible again.
If you don't have access to it as a Premium member, you may be able to buy access to it (e.g. more character slots), OR, you may never be able to buy access to it (e.g. Incarnate content).
Although, I'll wager that within a year into CoH:Freedom, they'll allow Incarnate Content to be purchasable for Premium. -
Quote:Not purchasable. Whatever was unlocked as a VIP/subscriber is basically 'greyed out' until you re-sub.To be clear, it's just a "Sub or you're out of luck" situation? Not even purchaseable on a per character basis with Points? Or is the jury still out on that?
You did. Clockwork O1 indicated that that was a mistake on marketing's part. He's been rather emphatic that his version of reality (no Premium Incarnate content) is the correct one, and being the assistant producer, I'll go with his.

Wow. This was a really horrific OCR Event.
The first session was non-stop answering of permutations about Character Slot unlocks.
The second session was just a handful of replies and nothing from the OCR for the last 21 minutes.
It was truly a waste of my time. -
Quote:Thanks for clarifying this. Thanks for catching this Zman, marketing is removing the asterisks from the Underground Trial preview shortly.
Sorry for the confusion everyone, as you can imagine, we have a lot of moving parts going on here, sadly, a pair of asterisks ended up in the wrong place, consequently delivering the wrong information.
To clarify this definitively:
All Incarnate content is restricted to VIP players. -
And the Electric Scrapper hides how with crackling electricity?

Quote:It seems that the rule: "What has been paid for you keep always" is trumped by the rule: "But we have to make *something* off limits otherwise there's no difference between F2P/Premium and VIP/Subscription."While I appreciate your clarification is a better interpretation of the situation, there will be difficulty accepting that as 'the way it works' because unlock and access have been nearly synonymous in language and fact for such a long time *and* because all the literature and Paragon Studio live discussion hasn't really made that distinction.Quote:I think that is being somewhat deliberately parsimonious in interpretation. While there are some corner cases here and there, the vast majority of the problem centers squarely on the fact that the rule "you keep what you bought" doesn't cover access because we've never actually had the opportunity or the right to buy access. Buying CoV did not purchase the right to play a mastermind, because that right came with subscription. It unlocked the ability to create one. It did not purchase the right to play it.
Because *no* player purchase *ever* covered access the rules for what we can and cannot access under Freedom don't trump the purchase rule. The purchase rule cannot ever actually apply to access.
...
If this is not obvious, neither is it as complicated as people seem to be attempting to portray it as. And its not arbitrary or unfair. Relocating the gates in this way is part of differentiating the resources available to free players, premium players, and subscribers. You could characterize that as just the devs having to make "something" off limits, but its not just randomly chosen for the sake of choosing something: its the most logical access right somethings to differentiate in a tiered hybrid system.
Positron, the leader of enacting the hybrid model is the one who says live and in writing, without qualification, that you always have whatever you have previously purchased. Which makes it sound like, especially with the history of uniting access and ownership, purchasing stuff means always having *access* to stuff.
Paragon Studios needs to get on board with better distinctions in their own promotions in describing it as:
- You never lose ownership of whatever you purchased.
- Premium Members have access to most of the stuff they previously purchased but not all.
- Premium Members can purchase access to almost all the stuff they previously purchased but has been limited by their status as Premium accounts.
- Anything new that Premium Members purchase automatically entitles them to access to it.
- When a Premium Members becomes a VIP member, they regain access to whatever they didn't have access to as a Premium Member.

Quote:1. Join your server's global TF channel.I have played this game on and off from the beginning. I have ALOT of characters (I'm an altaholic). I was noticing last night of all my characters I have no level 50s!!! All my character stop around level 32. My highest is 42.
Once you hit around 30 how do you guys do it. It just seems like I hit a brick wall and leveling speed starts to slow WAY down.
I have played very little in AE. Most of my time in game is in story arcs or radio missions. Sadly I have to solo alot too. With family obligations I have to get up at a moments notice from the computer and it is just easier to not group. I wouldnt want to hold others back because I have to AFK for 10 mins ;(.
Is there something I'm doing wrong or does anyone have any suggestions. Or since Im solo I just have to suck it up ;D.
2. Do as many TFs as you can.

OR,
1. Join your server's Looking For Group channel.

Now, with EGN, you'll be able to start new characters as Incarnates.

I get the impression that some people would starve to death if they had to rely on an occupation in international banking since, after being fired, they wouldn't be able to handle a bartering system, either.

Like "The Wiz", we need an all-Black Broadway musical production of The Hobbit that would be, interestingly enough, be called: "The Wiz."Quote:I'd say Morgan Freeman as Gandalf and SLJ as Aragorn, but that's just me. >.> -

PETER JACKSON WITH MARTIN FREEMAN
''There's no way you can pace yourself for shoots like these,'' Jackson says. ''When we were going through the schedule for The Hobbit, I felt a terrible drop in my stomach when I saw that we'd be shooting for 254 days. We're only 12 days short of The Lord of the Rings even though we're only doing two movies. When I saw that, I had to sort of pick myself up off the floor and carry on.''

Tutorial: Done.Quote:They also mentioned yesterday that they'd reworked some of the story arcs in Mercy. Part of the zone's story is going and reclaiming Fort Darwin from the Longbow.
Atlas Park & Galaxy City: Done.
Mercy: Done
Ouroboros: Done
Corrected. And seriously, folks, complaining about "that's all?" What the heck is wrong with you? Do you think Paragon Studios has the ability to stop time and put infinite effort into these things?

Quote:You mean... the *coolest*.That, is the stupidest thing I have ever seen added to this game.
That would be cool! Just like DC/Marvel has super powered cowboys, and ancient egyptians, and medieval knights, and far-future gadgeteers, and demons, and aliens, and sentient planets, and cave men, and talking gorillas, and wizards, and....Quote:But this is a western developed superhero MMO. Yes, they made a eastern version that went away. It still comes across as watching a scene from a Renaissance film and watching a guy in a space suit walk in.
It's a beginning...Quote:That's a very small level range for a zone. I'd expect something like 20 to 30 or 35
If only there were characters with super strength in the game!!!!!!!!!!Quote:Anyone wondering what wielding a sword that massive would be like will be glad to hear that the fool in the video below actually forged a realistic version of Cloud's iconic blade and, as expected, was completely unable to wield it.

Quote:VIP and Premium keep track of Open Slots using two different systems that do not interact with each other. As you go back and forth between the systems, you go to where you left off the last time you were in that system.46 Slots isn't possible, 36 is the maximum, so where do the 10 extra slots go?
Think of them as two different Character Slot Unlock Builds. -
Quote:I wish your example went further back in time and addressed these situations:So for example, if you have been a subscriber for three years, purchased Going Rogue, never bought a single extra character slot, and choose to stop paying your subscription, you will have...
- Accounts active during Issue 12 were given 2 Character Slot Unlocks.
- Accounts that added both a CoH and a CoV Serial Code, or had one of those codes and purchased GvE went from 8 slots per server to 12 slots per server. Shouldn't there be at least 4 Global Character Slot Unlocks for accounts that fit that criteria?
These previous Veteran/Paid-For slots should be honored in some way, IMO. -
-
Except when a Producer says Premium accounts don't have access to Incarnate content, without any other qualification, which throws that all up in the air. That's the statement which to me seems to be the odd man out and a misstatement.
-
Quote:Yeah, at this point I'm getting the feeling that incarnate content isn't considered part of Going Rogue, thus why it won't be included in free or for premium players that haven't specifically paid for it.
Going Rogue was simply a prerequisite for incarnate abilities to be earned.
Going Rogue was not sold with any Incarnate content.
Don't confuse Going Rogue with just "Praetoria".
Going Rogue was an Expansion to the game that included Praetoria, 4 Powersets, CoH/V Morality System, *and* the Incarnate System.
It was made very explicit that the purchase of that expansion was access to the Incarnate System, even though the first part of the Incarnate System was pushed off an issue.

(Thanks for the update!)
