Quote:What!? You didn't dust off the Double XP Boosters or at least the Shared XP Boosters!? You guys are missing out on a gold mine opportunity here! I would have bought those up like crazy for double xp weekend!
I don't expect grandness every week, but your marketing team could maximize money making opportunities a little more.Quote:XP Boosters
Please Note: XP Boosters stack with the double XP weekend effect!

I'll have to see Tech Knight before making a judgement call, but I'm not enthusiastic for more Tech pieces. We have far too many as is :\
That said, I'm liking everything else about I24 so much. Especially the zone events. Paladin reworked, a Family raid in St. Martial, and an actual prison break? Sold. -
Stop whining, please. They can't bust out a new powerset or costume pack every week. Not only that, if these items are gonna be in the market permanently now (since I'm not seeing a time limit on the forums, at least), then it's a very successful week IMO.

Oh man. Kings Row street-level content? Brickstown Prison breakout zone event? Actually letting villains be villainous in the Praetorian war? Even a St. Martial zone event? Please don't disappoint me, 'cause this sounds awesome.

Yeah, it's seriously old news. Still, it's awesome. And some of the art they showed off at the con was sweet. Here's the wiki info.
And as a special treat, they did a pic for SDCC of the adult Gaang and the new Krew.

Being a critic isn't an excuse to throw out insults and be unnecessarily harsh. Just sayin'.

We'll get a notice a week before it's due. 'Til then, chill and wait.

Quote:Apex and Tin Mage's TFs destroy Kings Row and Skyway City. But they're okay once the TF is over. Magisterium nukes Nova Praetoria, but you can still visit it and hang out with newly created Praetorian characters. Just sayin'.Lets see we are in current times indepedence port just finished ssa1 and god look both sister psyche and statesman not only alive but also giving TF's. Yeah sound more stupid than I went back in time at a place which was destroyed later than my arrival and met with people who will die after i met them in an uncertain time.
Phasing only screws with zone events when it's a portion of an entire zone being phased. But if it's just a contact, it's fine. Otherwise there wouldn't be ToTing or Holiday events in any of the Praetorian zones, or those Protest/Syndicate/Ghouls zone events. -
Quote:It raises further questions when they retcon'd States and Psyche out of RV, even though that was just a possible future, too. From Operative Grillo in the LRSF:
So if Psyche is dead in the present she shouldn't exist in a possible future, unless that future is a split from before she dies, but all indications are that it's a possible future from your current present. If Psyche is alive in a possible future then either it was a mistake or they're giving away a future plotline where they bring her back to life. -
Quote:It still can't. Not in a public zone, anyway. What the Doppelganger tech does is check whoever goes into the map and makes a duplicate of Person A. Everyone on the map sees a doppelganger of Person A, not of themselves. So if they used this in a zone, it'd only be a statue of Person A and not of yourself.I asked on the beta server why the doppel tech couldn't be used to make large statues/hologram monuments of us and was told by one of the devs it could not and they couldn't do that.
It looks like they were wrong.
So, if they can make doppelgangers transparent and invert the colors, could they also make them all gray or metal?
.
Plus this "statue" has what looks like an Invinicibility aura. So I don't think it is a statue after all. But we'll just have to wait and see on what it officially is. -
Quote:That's a lot of cool opinion, man.Actually, it says "their last action was against the Battalion". It does NOT say they won (although I assume they did).
It does not say HOW they won. However, one thing is certain: it has NOTHING to do with superior technology. The Battalion are a cosmic level threat, completely beyond any technology, just as incarnates are beyond tech origin heroes. If this wasn't case, it wouldn't be a Coming Storm, it would be a Coming Light Shower.
For the Battalion to be a serious threat to Paragon, the Rikti must have won because of what is different about them, or they could be defeated just as easily by Paragon. What is different? No Magic, no gods.
How does this connect to the Well? Prometheus, when asked about the Battalion (and this hasn't been added to Pargon Wiki yet) tells you that they gain power from Wells. He explains that they will be difficult to beat because Paragon has so many Incarnates (hence all the heroes that try to stop you in Mender Ramil's arc). Magic stems from the Well (as do the other origins). Thus, getting rid of magic is going to affect/weaken the Well. He also mentions that there are alternative sources of power to the Well: Ascended. Rularu is one. Which would explain why Silos sabotaged Dream Doctor's attempt to destroy Rularu. His plan is to use Rularu as an alternative source of power to the Well, since the Well cannot be used against the Battalion - it only makes them stronger.
This plays into what the developers have planned for the game: Once Omega is reached take away "Incarnate" status and replace it with "Ascended".
Yes. Mysterious visitors. (This was originally the Battalion, but was ret-conned when RWZ was added). Mysterious visitors from Ouroboros? -
All GMs need to be upgraded to have Adamastor-level rewards, IMO. Some would have higher rewards than others, like Lusca, but as it is now GM rewards suck.

Not really. Sure, you won't see any Rikti celebrities being worshipped by the masses (IMO a step up from humanity), but looking at certain arcs such as the RWZ ones or Angus McQueen's, Rikti are capable of individual thought along with being in their hivemind.
Quote:= loss of competitive drive
Quote:Meh, a few ray guns and spaceships, and teleportation? They aren't really ahead of the average tech origin hero.
Quote:Really? Not intelligent enough to avoid being taken in by Nemesis.
Nemesis brutally rampaged through a peaceful society under humanity's banner, all while using the image of the Freedom Phalanx specifically. Combine that with the fact that he manipulated the current Lineage of War, someone who was incredibly motivated even by Rikti standards, and gave him a reason to fight and an enemy to go after, and it's pretty easy to see why they became motivated to strike back. I mean, look at what Pearl Harbor or 9/11 did to the U.S. public.
Honestly, I recommend you run Angus McQueen's arc and the RWZ arcs and really pay attention to the story and clues. Maybe do a little research on Paragon Wiki, as well, 'cause there are some pretty interesting things to read that pertain to backstory, lore, and the Rikti's place in it. -
Quote:No. They communicate telepathically via a hive mind network, are naturally peaceful with one another, have incredibly advanced technology, and tend to be very intelligent. If anything I'd say they transcended past humanity's flaws rather than fell behind and became weaker.Would lack of personality in an entire races speech patterns and loosing it's original appearance count as a hollowed shell of itself?
That's a matter of personal opinion on the part of the one wielding the power. One may want to look like Galactus, another may want to look like a guy in a suit and nothing more. It all depends. -
Quote:watI'd love to see that too, but I prefer an Armor set for melees to a mastermind to really mix things up in terms of the game. That way all the clone would have different attacks depending on your primary and it would appear on 4 different ATs instead of 1. I'd be less interested in just supporting them on a MM with a secondary set since so many MM sets basically do that, just with different looking pets.
(For the Stalker version, the Hide ability could be the ability to lose yourself in the crowd, essentially.) -
Quote:It's not about luck or reflexes.Well, it usually happens when I click one of my slow animation attacks just as I get the warning for his attack. Followed by the 2-3 seconds of travel suppression. If you've gotten out of the way 100% of the time, good for you - guess I don't have your luck or reflexes.
Keep this in mind. If an AV just used their big attack that gives you the big warning, you're guaranteed to be safe from that kind of attack for a set period of time. That period of time varies based on the AV, but I don't think any of them are shorter than, like, 30 seconds. During that time, use your big, slow activating stuff, since you'll be safe. After some time has passed, start using the quicker animating attacks and be ready to move once they trigger the massive attack again. Rinse, repeat.
They don't spam those massive attacks every 3 seconds, so it's all a matter of just being prepared and paying attention. Mostly paying attention. You can't expect to just run in blind and mash keys for 30 minutes. -
Quote:An otherwordly, omnipotent, incredible being that's more cosmic in appearance than actually god-like, yeah. I always loved that about him. He reminds me of someone Silver Surfer would encounter. And considering the appearance of the new Shivans vs. the old, I have high hopes the Battalion will give us a legit cosmic threat that isn't religious or just humans from another dimension.I pictured the Battalion to be more or less similar to Rularuu in appearance. I mean Rularuu has that "Supreme God" look to him, right?
Also still waiting on a citation for the whole Rikti-destroying-their-Well thing. Not surprised, tbh. -
Wind-related sets. Wind Blast, Air Manipulation, Wind Control, Wind Armor, possibly even an Wind Melee that combines short and long range attacks.
Duplication as a Mastermind set.
Gadget Control.
Throwing Weapons.
That's just off the top of my head. -
Our devs have a habit of introducing something really new and shiny, abusing the crap out of it, then forgetting about it completely a few issues later. For awhile, it was doppelgangers. Recently it was the dog model. I'm just glad they added the doppelganger stuff to AE.
I was really hoping the Dark Control pet that was so hyped up was gonna be a shadow version of yourself with a set list of abilities. But then we got dog. Honestly I'd love to see a mastermind set modeled after clones or duplication, like Multiple Man. -
A Juggernaut mode would be pretty sick. Would require loads of testing to make sure a character wouldn't be unbeatable, but I'd play it.
Honestly, though, I'd just settle for some new arena maps. We're getting better maps than ever nowadays, and Arena hasn't been updated in forever with some of the more iconic ones. Magisterium, new AP, the Coliseum, or even space? Hell yeah.
