I am a Protectorite, here, although I do have toons in the Envisionaries on Liberty, as well as several commonly-played alts on Victory.
Also, if you wanna be able to talk to the artists and collectors, join the global room "Paragon One". We decided to use it to organize for the Envis groups, but most of us are still in it and are willing to chat there. -

I just remembered I have one....
I might go blind
[/ QUOTE ]
Too many jokes involving chickens and choking!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, so far, I'm not blind... just nearsighted. -
Nice piece.
I'm a little sad to see that the Juicer isn't sparking, but I'm definitely impressed.
I especially like that everyone's face structure is distinctly different. And that the lighting is dramatic (helps set the mood) without being "extreme!!1!" -

Yup died flying over 2 of those Paladins, I couldn't believe my eyes... suddenly I got 1 shotted by one of them. So soon after My corpse having landed at their feet, I had extensive time to study their evil machinations!

The only use of the screenshots they don't explictly allow is to make a profit from them. Otherwise they're considered 'fan derived' and essentially are okay as long as you say where you got em.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. Just be sure to say "Screenshot from City of Heroes" and don't make prints available and you should be peachy. -

I hope this site can help anyone interested in viewing, posting or creating art.

Elfwood is awesome! I've been a member there for nearly ten years. The people are genuinely interested in helping everyone achieve the best results they can.
The only drawbacks are that it takes a while to get new art approved to post, because it has to meet a thematic criteria. Granted, they're fairly lenient on what qualifies as "High Fantasy and/or Sci-Fi" and Superheroes are definitely acceptable.
I haven't posted anything new there in a while, but my Elfwood gallery is linked in my sig. -

Many artists take critiques very well...others do not. Best rule of thumb, if the artist has not solicited for advice and critiques...do not give them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Very wise advice.
I, however, am always open to accepting critiques.
The Elfwood community which I belong to (link in my sig) was built around critiquing each other's work to help amateur artists improve. That was my first online art experience, and I totally expect and appreciate it.
All I ask is that you be tactful.
Don't say something like "That arm is all wrong and messes up the piece." Say something more along the lines of "The elbow on that arm is wider than on the other arm, you may want to slim it down a tad. "
I say if you're specific about what bothers you, it's very helpful. But if you're just gonna trash a piece because something about it irks you, then just bite your tongue.
Also, if there are multiple things that are bugging you, just choose the most bothersome one to point out. But still, be specific about it. It's easier for an artist to focus on one portion of a picture at a time, and if they are still practicing, it's good to focus on one section of their work for improvement as they continue to practice.
Also keep in mind that just because you may not like a style of a person's work does not mean it is a bad piece. It just means you don't like that style. And pointing that out will do nothing to help anyone.
But yeah, to anyone and everyone; tell me what I'm doing wrong, please. Just, y'know, politely.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was going to write something, but Aerones said it better than I could have. So, I am just going to quote him and say that I agree 100%.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just wanna point out that I edited in the following line into my post apparently after you quoted it:

Just remember to also point out what you thought was good about the picture. "Positive reinforcement" and all that...

I know I have trouble thinking of LJ and Turbo as 'guys' too. Even though they ARE... behind the keyboard.
of course, there's probably a few folks who think I'm a 30-something black woman with a serious Afro.
Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth....

I thought you were here to keep an eye on the Spartan Hate Pit in order to make sure it doesn't start growing too large to contain.
Do we have a plan for that eventuality? What will we do if it increases beyond the boundaries set up for public safety? -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd do what Rowrsie says.
Paint a blob or two of orange on a seperate layer, maybe throw some yellow in the center... then smudge it upward.
[/ QUOTE ]
...And then change the layer to "Screen."
Just be sure you have a background color other than white, though, because a layer set to Screen won't show up where there is white behind it.
Also, playing around in the layer's properties may help. Like giving it an Outer Glow and an Inner Glow... Go wild! Have fun!
