Are you that afraid of missing? +72% acc bonus and 11% to hit? You basically 3-4 slotted each power with acc and are running on average at a 200% accuracy for all your attacks.
As a Dual Blades scrapper, key attacks are Sweeping Strike, Ablating Strike, Blinding Feint. You can either run attack vitals-> BF if you are on a low recharge build, or on a high recharge BF->AS->SS->AS. 1k Cuts is a great AoE, Typhoon's Edge... not so much. It's not bad... not great either.
So attack priority is Sweeping Strike, Ablating Strike, Blinding Feint, 1k Cuts, Vengeful Slice, Typhoon's Edge. Neither Nimble Slash or Power Slice are good attacks, however, you need to pick one. I suggest Power Slice because it is the middle power in the Sweep Combo (pretty good AoE).
Energy Aura does actually benefit from Body Mastery, and because dual blades has redraw and already good AoE you do not need to go blaze or mu for extra AoE. That leaves Soul: Shadow Meld to counter cascading defense failure, Leviathan: Water Spout because you can slot an AH proc and it is fun, or Body Mastery.
Unless you actually use overload a lot, I would not suggest even taking it. The +HP is awesome and the crash is completely manageable... but if you use it as an 'o carp' button, I would drop it for something else.
This is a fairly low budget, not purples or pvp ios. It can become better with work, but its something I would play.

Thugs/Cold Mastermind... or i can just wait till cold gets proliferated. Also Ill/Traps controller.
-
I will let you pay me 10 mil of inf to take the name.
-
Hyperstrike.
Note that King's Forum join date was this month. I betcha it is some one's second account, just trolling the forums. I vote that it is Santorican having fun -
One of the main reasons I fell in love with this game was the fact that I did not need to drag some one else a long to watch my health bar. How can I fully trust some one, possibly in a room across the world to watch my health, when even I sometimes miss it myself. I-trials has several spots where you need a healer and that is something I am vehemently opposed to. I will do everything in my power to avoid needing some one else to watch my health bar for me.
To me, its like building your character assuming that some one else is going to buff you. 'I don't need to soft cap myself, some one else will soft cap me. I don't need recharge, some one else will SB me. I don't need to be endurance sufficient, some one else will buff me. -I don't need to be able to take care of myself, some one else will-" -
Static Shield with one res slotted gives 43.93% Psi Res.
Static Shield with three res slotted gives 55.47% Psi Res.
Let us assume that you are being faced with a 500 damage psi attack. With the 43.93% res you will take 347.39 damage. With 55.47% res you will take 321.6 damage. On a larger scale taking a 2000 damage hit will look like this 1389.56 | 1286.42. Honestly, it is up to you. It does not effect it too much. However on big hits, that can be the difference of living the hit or not (100 hp is a difference) I would at least say 2 slotting isn't a bad idea. But if you really need the slots somewhere else, then go for it. -
I don't want Build Momentum. I don't want to have to rely on some one else's incompetence to heal me in I-Trials.
-
Anywho... This is my proposed build for my Elec/TW Tank.
I want to be able to do well in I-Trials. Hence the aid self inclusion. I am planning on using Darkest Night + selective lucks to keep myself softcapped to range. I am not too concerned about AoE. I am soft capped to melee with one def sweep. :/ I feel it should be better... but I can't seem to get it any higher. (I also want as much HP as I can fit in)

Your mindset among tankers is the reason I can peel aggro off just about any tanker with my DM/Invuln scrapper when fighting AVs and GMs. Only so much can be done with Taunt, Gauntlet and Taunt in powers. The rest is determined with damage. You have to deal damage along with those three other taunting parts that tanks get in order to be able to hold aggro in extended fights.
Besides, what self respecting tank wouldn't pick up KO Blow, Foot Stomp, Siesmic Smash? -
Quote:From my lurking in the forums, and my many times in trying to help people I have found one common thread about concepts. There are two kinds of Character Concepts. The ones that are Power driven, with a story behind them. These are usually more flexible, any power combination can be explained one way or another. The other is a story in some one's mind that they try to fit into the game. These usually do not do well. They suffer first because they are not willing to change their concept for better performance. Secondly, no matter how awesome CoH becomes, it will never be able to match the creativity and inspired genius of the mind. Your concept will never be fully revealed in some one else's game.
Yet Energy Melee fits well with a number of concepts I have. I would love to create a Energy/Invul Brute or Scrapper as a badger I want to start in Feb or Mar. I'm talking over 1,000 badges in less than 3 months type goal. But I may go a different direction since I do not like Energy now obviously and whatever proposed changes they are looking at still need to be Beta hammered out. -
Hasten and Rend Armor. Rend Armor is AMAZING! It does insane DPA!
-
I like my burning hands and feet thank you very much!

I pulled some of the numbers off of memory. The Elec tank build I have has 2.6k hp, 85% S/L res and capped Energy. I think I was remembering scrappers' WP numbers for S/L + Tough. Usually I can build a WP tank with 3.2k +HP. (was giving it the benefit of the doubt that I could get to 3.5 if I wanted.
Thanks for the notes though. I am mainly concerned with I-Trials. So I am thinking massive hits of energy damage from AM as well as A good deal of Psi from the MoM trial. -
Always when building, start with a focus. You chose S/L soft cap. Then why didn't you stick with it? You chased some +dam, +healing, +regen, +HP, +acc. Why would you even PICK jump kick? much less slot it? Tough is empty. Shin Breaker is slotted with a defense debuff set????!!!! you have a full entire PVP set in Spinning Strike, chasing an acc bonus??
I think you should go back to the drawing board a little. Possibly look at some of the other builds posted on the forums. Feel out how most people slot things, what powers are taken, sets used.
Key sets for you will be 3 Slotting Numina's, 4 Slotting Kin Combats, 3-4 Slotting Eradication's, 4 slotting Reactive Armors. And for goodness' sake, slot Shin Breaker for damage. Always slot for the bonus you are attempting to hoard, then when you cannot anymore, slot for a secondary effect (I would suggest +HP as your secondary goal).
I feel like I am being mean, but about every other day people post builds similar to this. I'm flabbergasted and discouraged -_- -
It is being looked at. Synapse mentioned a whole list of things currently being examined. I do not have the link, but he is looking at a lot of the pool powers... and other things...

Quote:Well.. the Blessing of the Zephyr nerf was pretty nuclear. (IMO) there were people on both sides yelling at each other. Some people pleading, some people screaming.Poor CuppaJo...
I still recall the ED debacle clearly. I'd just gotten comfortable with how to slot, the standard 1 ACC 5 Damage in attacks etc, so I was right there with the fumes.
I still haven't seen this, or any forum, go that nuclear in as short a timeframe since then. Felt like the roof was caving in for weeks on here. I refused to believe it was anything more than Jack forcing more of his 'Vision™' on us.
Ah hindsight... looking back, ED was one of the best things to happen. -
I am trying to decide between an Electric Armor tank or a Will Power tank, which got me thinking. Which will help me survive big hits better? On the one hand, Elec has amazing resists, and can be soft capped to Smashing/Lethal and Energy/Negative. It has a good heal, slow resistance, and a damage aura. It lacks however any +HP. I would really want a tank at or above 3k HP. That got me thinking about Will Power which has good +HP but rather low resistances.
So. How does +HP and +Res compare. I do know they are comparative. Extra HP gives you virtual resistance. But how much? Would having capped S/L/E res and 2500 HP be as good or better than 50% S/L and 10% F/C/E/N res with 3500 HP?
This is a general enough question I thought to be asked in the questions forum rather than tanks. I'm not just asking for a tank, but as a general rule (like 1% def == 2% res) -
I prefer my DA toons as tanks >.> Not that DA is squishie, but I got used to DA's amazingness as a Tank and I can't go back :/ Higher base numbers and HP. I just don't see it as good on a scrapper.

May I ask, why Weapon Mastery?
If it is because you want it and I cannot convince you otherwise, then you cannot expect peak performance. If you just thought it was nifty... that is something we can work with.
I also want to mention. Gaussian set is a positional set, not a typed set. Why provoke? Taunt with a dark tentacle of death to the face! Also, +dam bonuses are candy not main courses. Don't go out of your way to get them. They are not really nutritious in the long run. And finally don't slot attacks for secondary effects like -to hit and -def and stuff like that.
