Eden is such a cool, yet vastly under-utilized zone. It needs some serious reconstruction to begin, and definately some contacts with missions. Perhaps explain some more of the story of that zone?
-
Wow, just wow. Some time ago, I wrote a long story arc/TF concerning the Family's dirty dealings in Independence Port.
Looks like I just might be able to make it, now. It will be really cool if we will be able to do things like add pets in-mission.
Pick an archetype and powerset, and that character gets inserted as the NPC you have to rescue. Kind of like Arbiter Sands in the faultline arc, when you first meet him.
And being able to create instanced outdoor maps would be full of win too- I would love to see Family and dockworker NPC's duking it out on the waterfront, and my heroes getting to stop the war. -
Nice to see a non-DOOOOM thread!
And I like the costume sets button. It sure will make finding things a lot easier. I remember a friend of mine uttering one of the DUMBEST excuses not to add "too much more" to character creator. He said that with too many choices, people would get "bogged down" in the costume editor, and would take forever to make their characters. Is that really a bad thing? People who just want to get playing will whip up something simple, whereas people who want to play with the costume maker will take their own sweet time, regardless of the parts they have to play with.
The costume sets button helps counter my friend's objection, as well as making it easier for anyone, newbie or not to try out several different costume sets to see what they like or don't. -
I'm surprised they gave scrappers the fire sets. They will be interesting to see in action, scrapper-side. I've got a fire tank who I enjoy, this might make me consider re-rolling him.
I was kind of hoping for ninjitsu for scrappers though, that would be fun. Or electric armour/melee for scrappers and tanks.
I'm not horribly disappointed though, because I have heard that these are not the only powers that will eventually be ported over- this is just a start. So I'll wait and see.
I'm also hoping brutes get access to broadsword eventually, that is a fun set to play!
And plant controllers? Hella cool! -
I'll be interested to see the Hollows now- I know that prior to the safeguard travel powers, I avoided the place like the plague. Now I'm fine with running missions there, once I have the temp power.
But these changes sound like things that really needed to happen to make the Hollows less of a turn-off. It's a pain to have to go all the way back to Atlas to train or make the hospital run. Overall, these changes sound like a good thing. -
I'm definately interested to see the details of this. More missions to make the run from 10-20 more interesting is always a good thing.
If my higher ups can use the O-portal to try them out, it's even better.
I would love to know if there's earnable rewards in this, badges, or whatever. Sounds cool! -
Love the level-up insp, health, and end boost! Many a time, I've wished that would happen in the middle of an intense fight!
-
Those roman costumes are awesome! I just hope that they're not fiendishly difficult to unlock, or that the unlock is account-wide, or something like that. I've got many characters who are lusting after those pieces!

... and of course, save San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge!

I would SO do that! /Signed 1000x over!
Golden Gate Bridge is one of my favourite things in the world right now- I have a rivet from it, even
Heck, I would make a Golden Gate Bridge toon and have a friend help PL him for something like this- the GGB gets its butt kicked in enough disaster movies, how about getting its own back? -
I knew they would be doing the invasions again some time. I'll be sure to get a few characters on to take part in the nukage
-
Another one here who wants tuxedo-jacketed males to be able to use wings..Iron Angel North would kill to be able to do that!
-
Count me in as another one disappointed in the wedding gift mission. I was hoping that there would actually be some incentive to complete the mission- perhaps unlocking those roman costume parts, a badge, a temp power, something, anything.
Instead I got nothing. I'll run the villain-side mission once on my highest villain just to see what it's like. But there's no reason for me to do it with anyone else. The concept of the mission is interesting, but I wish there was incentive to do it.
Instead of the contact saying "Oh thanks I get to keep my job", it would be cooler if she had said "Sister Psyche and Manticore are extremely grateful to you for getting their wedding gifts back. As a thank you gift, they asked me to give you this- insert name of costume piece, badge, temp power here."
As for the forced cross faction teaming, I wish they would change that. Perhaps a really good buff of some sort for having an opposing faction member on your team, but at least if none are present, the mish would still be do-able. -
I am loving the deluxe tux- two of my female characters are now wearing it.
Aveda of Flame is looking downright gothic in hers- red coat with black embroidery, chaos leather top, bridal miniskirt, with angelic plus tights underneath. Very lolita-goth if coloured and mix-and-matched right -
I just tried the pieces out on my scrapper, Chay'vara. She is now thoroughly loving her new fancy tux jacket, black with gold embroidery. And she's also loving the short black scarf with it. So two capes, essentially.
Cost of account upgrade- $9.99
Cost of tailor session- Fee waived
Being able to break the "one cape per player rule"?- Priceless. -
I bought my upgrade as soon as I got the email..Love that female tux jacket, and the "with skin" costume options are lovely. I would love to see more like these in the future- they look like clothing, not body paint.
Now if we could get a proper fortunata butt cape, I would really be dancing. Heck, I would pay for that too! -
I just bought the upgrade, although I have not yet had the time to log in and check out the costume parts.
The "with skin" options for the ladies look amazing, as does the tuxedo coat and skirt. I'm going to have some serious fun playing with these parts, I promise I won't do any Kill Bill clones. Why the heck would I want to make a clone when patching together all these bits into something original is SO much more fun? -
Even static hair models like hard candy and glam would be nice to have male-side. Not the EXACT SAME styles, but similar length would be nice. So my men-folk can have long hair and a trenchcoat like their female counterparts.

I don't think there will be issues with shipping Ol' Recluse where Customs is concerned. I've imported weapons into Canada before. Bottom line- if it's not prohibited by Canada's laws, then you can usually import it. A collectable statue? No problem!
I do wish they would at least state that they'll ship anywhere in North America, though. Good call on the UK auction idea too. -
Great idea! That Lord recluse statue is hella nice.
I just wish they would offer international shipping, even if it was an extra few dollars for the winning bidder.
Being an ebayer and living in Canada, it's a HUGE annoyance to see something I really want, and then read that it ships ONLY to the US. -
Thanks for the responses, everyone
For the worst of the torture and other parts, I plan to describe mainly the aftermath- what the PPD finds afterward. Horrified whispers and rumours, that sort of thing.
If the stuff you guys are describing got through without being modsmacked, I think I'll be fine.
The torture I am referring to is nothing compared to the atrocities that used to be committed in medieval europe- more like mafia goon-stuff. -
I've got a great idea for a story about one of my new characters, with some other alts of mine making an appearance.
It concerns one of my villains and how they fell from grace- you see, they used to be a hero until something bad happened.
But before I start writing, a question. Just how far are we allowed to go on this board, content-wise?
I'm not going to curse every second word, write stuff that belongs in Penthouse, or describe every act of violence in CSI-like detail. But the story does involve an assassination, and torture. Like I said, I won't describe things in bone-crunching detail- it's more the aftermath that we see. But how far is too far?
I love reading things that people come up with, I want to contribute my own, but don't want to inadvertantly go too far either. -
I'm hoping to lose some weight next year, and I'm even thinking of taking up powerlifting (Eat that, all you muscle-on-women haters!), so hopefully by next year, I'll look much better in Iron Angel Aveda's body armour Luckily, skyscraper incarnates prefer robes to bikinis, so even if I'm not perfect, loose robes generally cover a LOT of sins, body-wise. So if time and funds permit, I'll try it next year. I might even be able to get somebody to pose as a Tsoo sorcerer- I've already got the skirt
-
Pretty sweet Whoever did the voice acting there, kicked butt big time!
-
StarCrosser did a wicked job on that costume of hers, Kudos
I'm going to have to do Iron Angel Aveda's outfit for next year, all that armour's going to be fun. -
I'm sure I can come up with some hilarious ways to faceplant..Hamidon Dance party, re-enactment of the last battle for Eden, etc. Hmmm..Think I should organize a few things?
