  2. When I form a Keyes, I specifically advertise "all ATs". I don't bother checking if there is 'enough healing.' I tell everyone to fill up on green inspirations, and if they 'die' to go to the hospital and refill on green inspirations.

    My Keyes have no problem dealing with the pulse.

    That's not the case. *Damage* to AM increases the damage of the Pulse. I drag AM around all the time with Darkest Night, an anchor debuff.
  3. K, I'm now siding that the 'foot' is really 'cape'... but it does mean Statesman's cape makes a drastic turn near the bottom... maybe it's from Synapse fanning the air with his feet off the ground.

    Also, there's a triangular indent in Citadel's back. Probably from were one of the pointy ends of Manticore's cowl's rubber hair overlapped it.

    Indeed, that's why for my Dark Control, I tried to go with a different set of Controllery controls other then the type of Controls already in Dark Miasma. Controls around the theme of being in darkness/lights out.

    Looks like he got erased but they forgot to remove his quiver or his foot.

    The real question is where's Sister Psyche? She's the usual poster gal for the game.

    Or, it could just be that they do Double XP twice a year on average as a regular practice to keep retention and get lapsed to resub?

    And I highly, highly doubt there's been a significant amount of unsubbing since the FREEDOM announcement as you suggest. Why would anyone unsub now and be totally locked out when they can wait for FREEDOM and unsub then and enjoy Premium access?

    If anything, the boards are full of "hey, I'm back!" threads.

    With a Few Micro Purchases: 100% of Powersets and 95% of Content.


    So... where exactly is this split going to take place? Praetoria? Is there really a "Praetorian Community" in the first place? Only totally Free folks will be excluded. Freemiums can buy their way in.

    Will the community split be End Game Content? Yes. But with up to 95% of the game available to Freemiums... that's OK with me. Besides, I bet within a year that today's End Game Content will be purchasable anyway.

    Dark Assault

    Edited version based on comments below, with less copying of Manipulation and more combining Dark Blast and Dark Melee and stealing from other ATs APPs:

    • Blast
    • Smite
    • Gloom
    • Shadow Maul
    • Night Fall
    • Fearsome Stare
    • Siphon Life
    • Moonbeam
    • Darkstar (a weakened, non-nuke version of Blackstar)




    Dark Control

    (Assume that -ToHit is added to everything and all Damage is Negative)

    • Tier 1: Midnight Grasp as a Single Target Immob (see why I took it out of Assault?). I made the Damage moderate instead of minor since it is melee.
    • Tier 2: Soul Storm - Single Target Hold
    • Tier 3: Soul Tentacles - Group Immob (Tenebrous Tentacles could be used, instead)
    • Tier 4: Dark Cloud: Take the Cloud/Fog from the indoor Croatoa ghosts-in-the-office-map and use it like a summoned pet. Since it makes things dark and cloudy it has these effects: -Perception, -Range, -Fly, -Speed, Confuse. Confuse is there because the foes are swinging blindly and it becomes the source of damage. This pet should have the AI of Tornado. It might even gather the foes together with the -Range and Confuse.
    • Tier 5: Umbral Slumber: Location based pseudo-pet with a continuing sleep effect that puts foes back to sleep after they are awakened. Thus it will leverage the same mechanic introduced by Static Field in the Electrical Control set.
    • Tier 6: Umbral Torrent: KB control and damage!
    • Tier 7: Quiet of the Night: a PBAoE Placate. Substitutes for an area denial power... can't touch this!
    • Tier 8: Pitch Dark: Like Illusion's Flash, except that the foes grab their eyes because of a black blob in front of them.
    • Tier 9: Shadows: These are the lieutenants from Dark Swan's missions. They're black colored fire imps, but they have Dark Blast and Melee attacks.

    Merits are not Experience... so, nope. Although, Influence and Prestige isn't XP, either, but they're doubled...

    So, just XP, INF, and Prestige. This includes such type rewards from badges, and mission and arc completions. It also works on Leveling Pacts.

    But not iXP, AE XP.

    You're seeing a very, very small number of players *guess* at November and December. And their *guess* is based on pretty much nothing. Nothing the Devs have said. Nothing based on past history. Nothing based on inside knowledge. That's pretty much the definition of a clueless guess, because it's based on precisely zero clues.

    And just because other player repeat such baseless guesses doesn't mean it has any more validity than the first time such guesses were made.

    If you have something worked out on Mids, export the block here so we can tweak it.

    I'm not a redname, but I know how to read press announcements from rednames. If they don't announce free reactivation, it ain't happening.

    Since the last, combined Double XP and Free Reactivation, there have been three weekends where we've had one or the other, but not both. And free character transfers were only included because they had extended the free transfer period (actually, I think they just forgot to shut it down) and were about to shut it down right before the 2x/Reactivation weekend, so they said, 'what the heck', and extended it for the weekend. Free character transfers were never intended to be part of a Double XP or Reactivation weekend.

    The Servers took huge hits on the combined weekends and caused the establishment of the hated Server Queues. Even with the recently increased capacity of the servers, it doesn't make sense to tempt fate. Besides, by separating the two events, they can have more events and entice people back in more subscription periods than having one, big blow-out that annoys the currently subscribing.


    Here is the history of the events:
    • July 21, 2006 - 2xXP Only
    • January 26, 2007 - 2xXP Only
    • June 15, 2007 - 2xXP Only (coupled with Referral Program)
    • February 08, 2008 - 2xXP Only
    • Thursday, May 22 - Reactivation Only
    • July 18, 2008 - 2xXP Only
    • January 23, 2009 - 2xXP Only
    • July 31, 2009 - 2xXP Only
    • October 8, 2009 - Both 2xXP & Reactivation
    • March 4, 2010 - Both 2xXP & Reactivation (free character transfer end date was extended to be active for this weekend)
    • Thursday, October 7th - Reactivation Only
    • January 27, 2011 - 2xXP Only
    • Wednesday, May 8 - Reactivation Only
    • July 28, 2011 - 2xXP Only
