Does anyone know for sure how far these enhancements will mal down?
Is there any place to go to find out this sort of information? -
-
Only some of the missions are selectable. The rest are not.
Is there something I can do in the meantime while this gets sorted? -
I build my exemping toons with a lot of lvl 25 and 27 IOs.
A lvl25 dual attribute enhancer is @ the threshold for being affected by exemplaring down to as low as lvl 21.
So, I decided to make the cut off for full IO set bonuses and full attribute enhancement @ lvl 24. So all the single and triple IOs end up lvl 27 if I want to keep the set bonuses.
Where I don't need set bonuses and I am using multi attribute IOs, I use lvl 43 triples and lvl 50 quads so that I can have full attribute enhancement all the way down to lvl 21.
Iirc, 4 lvl 50 IOs @ 24 works out to about 3 lvl 50 IOs worth of enhancement. So Haste etc get a 4 slot instead of three.
And then there are purples and PvP IOs. -

Quote:For the reasons you note, perhaps they will offer purchasable customizations one day.This. It irks me to think they may just make entirely different sets from this point foward when ever a new idea comes up.
...
They could charge for alternate animations. I'd pay for a pack of alternate animations and the ability to color my PBs powers yesterday.
Quote:I'm a vet with a couple of claws I enjoy playing and I think the animations could be improved, but most of all, I agree with BrandX. Now that we have animal costumes, I would love to be able to give my lion torso character big savage lion claws instead of metal blades. -

Quote:I have more than one character that I built largely with lvl 25 and lvl 27 IOs. The difference in the stats between those levels and the max level IO for the sets are real, but not large enough to be worth more than being able to mal down. A lot of the smallness of the differences is due to ED.IO sets don't *need* to be replaced in any case, at least in the sense that they don't go red. I slot up my characters with IO sets around the mid-30s, and I never replace them. The values are close enough to the level 50 values that I've never seen the point in it.

That's an important and powerful caveat.

In many other industries these things would be addressed in a more customer friendly way--lagniappes and little perks and whatnots.
I wish MMOs had the same kind of customer service ethic that other service industries do.
The day will come when MMOs get that way. The first ones to do so will reap the profit of it. -

Quote:I thought I saw a screenie of BaBs goofing off somewhere standing horizontally on the vertical surface of a building to make a point about something or another. It can't. Vertical surfaces in the game are not programmed or designed for characters to walk or run on. They would have to go through and alter literally every vertical surface in the game in order for wall crawling to work.
Does anyone else remember that one that's in the memory hole somewhere? -
Quote:I don't think it's related to a company's seriousness so much as to the ease with which a consumer can find an acceptable substitute for a company's product. I mentioned elsewhere that if we could pick up our toons and leave to play our toons somewhere else, then the MMO industry would be as responsive as other industries in a similar situation. If a serious company made a mistake(s) like the one(s) under discussion you would get real personal mail, over the printed signature of a senior officer of the corporation, and including a gift certificate.
It would be nice if Paragon Studios and NCSoft had a standard of customer service that approached that level.
As per your example, you could have gotten glasses that were more or less just as acceptable to you at a different place of business.
But you can't play CoX anywhere else but here. -

kinetics / sonic defender
claws / dark brute -
I always want to do something during that 30seconds too.

Quote:Well, besides the waiting, you also get access to incarnate content and access to Exalted and maybe one or two other things that you can't buy with points. I think. I haven't checked any list to see the details. Maybe there's some more stuff, idk.Just not seeing the added value of a continued subscription.
Other than that it seems most everything else is purchasable.
I am having the same thoughts about subscribing.
Because premiums get their points right away, they are able to get more value out of their point because they have more time to play with what they can buy with them.
Getting my entire allotment of points in a lump means that for all of the next year, I will be able to enjoy w/e I want to buy with point as soon as it come available. I will be able to enjoy the items for the entire duration. That means more value, imho, since I will be able to have more enjoyment of the items [more time to enjoy the items].
I'd love to see the devs live up to the challenge that they have given themselves by making a subscription more worthwhile than a big pile of points by adding so much more [/i]useful and appealing[/i] "content" that "comes with" VIP [as opposed to available for purchase by VIP] that it's silly not to be a subscriber.
I had some ideas the other day, not for items but strategies, but I have forgotten them at the moment. -

They have in effect a monopoly on w/e their game is. If you want to play CoX there's nowhere else in the world where you can get it.
That's some of what separates this industry from other service industries. In many other industries, the products and services are more easily or more adequately substitutable. Part of what makes MMOs less fungible than some other services is the investment in our characters. It's not just the awards an rewards that our toons have earned--those could theoretically be added to a new char somewhere else--but the learning curve and time spent acquiring information, experience and technique that is often very context specific to the game in which it was acquired.
That all implies an interesting business model for MMOs--what if NCSoft or Paragon or whoever, licensed their MMO to different franchises who administered the game? You could play Company A's MMO1 or company B's MMO1 where company A and company B would be platform providers of a sort perhaps providing a platform for games from multiple MMO makers. -

Quote:I have every intention to take a look at this option as well.Does anyone know if those who are purchasing Paragon Points directly are getting their Reward Token for every 1200 points properly? Because if so, this system has been so messed up lately, that it has me thinking I'd be better off cancelling my VIP subscription and using the sub money to buy points each month instead.
Upon cursory examination, it looks like an acceptable trade-off.
14,000 pts buys a lot of stuff for someone who is tier nine.
