Quote:I am not buying the technical difficulties line.Buying points grants Tokens on the spot, and the original goal was to grant all Tokens on the spot for multiple months when you paid for your subscription (but this wasn't able to be done for technical reasons). So it doesn't really make a lot of sense to have to wait a full month to get your token if you subscribe, due to the obvious intent.
Obviously they can assign us tokens.
If they wanted, they could have assigned us the tokens we were due and then taken care of the accounting behind the scenes.
The only technology needed is a ledger book or one of its digital counterparts. W/e adjustments to the system could be made in the meantime and then adjusted accordingly to account for what has been handed out already.
They have just chosen to inconvenience us instead of themselves for w/e reason. Not saying that they didn't have a very good reason, mind, you--just that the very god reason isn't because it was technically unfeasible. -
If not enough people will buy the item @ price X then they may lower the price.
I am actively not-buying a number of items.

Quote:the observations you're making may be more informed than some others', but it's not hard to find examples of similar things which work much better than what we've been given. So, even the comparatively uninformed reach the same conclusions.I've been around the block so many times I've worn a groove in the sidewalk. Every system I've ever written has audited everything. I do it even when I'm told not to do it unless there is a security, privacy, or regulatory reason not to, and even then I log everything I'm allowed to log. I log the fact that the system is logging.
I've not commented on the store implementation and the related reward tracking systems too much, but that's because what more you can say but that those systems suck. When I think about what you're supposed to do instead of what's actually happening, as a professional I'm half embarrassed, half furious. So I try not to think about it too much.
I still think I could do a better job in PHP in a weekend. And I'm not just talking about the in-game store, either.
These assessments of the systems add to the sense of wonder about why we were given what we were given.
Was it just poor performance?
Is there some method or ulterior motive to the madness?
****-up before conspiracy, of course. But, one can't help but see the potential of the problems to milk the cash of the impatient. And seeing that, there's a certain compulsion to wonder if the problems are wai. I don't have access to any sales data of course. But I expect and suspect that a number of transactions occurred which may not have occurred if players had gotten their points and tokens closer to launch of Freedom.
This answers "cui bono?" but doesn't tell us if it's appropriate to ask that question.
The apparently different answers that been provided by staff to identical questions from players adds to a vague sense of suspicion of the company on the part of the players.
eg Do they know what they're going to do about these things? Why can't they communicate their plan internally well enough that it can be communicated externally? Are these things happening on purpose? etc
Idk what will happen on the part of the company nor on the part of the players. However, I suspect that the outcomes are not going to be as optimal as they could be. They may even end up being a net negative. idk.
I really enjoy CoV. -
Quote:At McDonald's, if you're unhappy, you can go most anywhere and get an adequate subsititute.Well since it has been over a month and no tokens. Why not just give everyone a token now, and continue to fix the problem. The worse thing that would come of this is some people may get a free extra token, but you keep your PAYING customers happy. Come on people even the shift manager of McD's knows when to give out a free fry or soft drink.
But, there's not anywhere else you can go to play CoX. -

Quote:Well, sooner is better than later and late is better than neverThe day before my bill date is the 6th. The day before I got my Points this month was the 11th.
The day I was told "in a few days" by a Senior GM was 2 days ago. After that I asked the GM to give me an approximate reward date and was told:
The day I was told the 28th by a Senior GM was today. -
Quote:I forget where exactly I got my info. I think it was from a Zwil post or something. Iirc, They're due on the day before your bill date.I had 2 senior GMs tell me differently. One said "next couple days" and the other said the 28th. I do recognize both the GM names as really high level CS Reps. That is one of the reasons I'm annoyed, because these particular GMs don't usually stonewall players.
Who the hell knows? -

Quote:It does give one pause, don' it. A pause in which we may wonder, "Why?"I really, really, really don't understand why they didn't do something infinitely more simple.
From there, it seems natural to be tempted to wonder if the complicatedness was brought into existence for some purpose. -
I'd like to see some new sets added to the power pool.
Tempt me away from my favorites. Make me have to weigh my decisions carefully.
This is something that could have a positive impact on all toons -

For exemplaring, everything is first adjusted to 41.5% if it's higher than that. So upping your lvl 50 IOs wouldn't help you one whit for malling down.
at least not for single attribute IOs
If you're talking sets, then the lvl 50's would get you more enhancement when malled down than the lvl 30s
But if you want to keep your set bonuses, then the lvl 30s would be abetter choice as you could keep your set bonuses to lvl 27 -

Quote:I am not one of them, but...However, I'd love to hear why the powerset gurus out there feel Willpower is so great.
WP is nice because it's easy. Set it and forget it.
A layered defense is less likely to have some sort of cascading failure or some sort of mob that just does them in by exploiting the set's weakness.
So WP is decent in several aspects which leads to it being pretty good in general.
Even though the def and res numbers are higher for other sets, the regen and HP of WP allow it to make up for that deficit. The regeneration helps against all damage types.
Once you start adding IO bonuses, having all that HP and regen underneath really, really makes a difference.
Softcap is great. Softcap w/ awesome regen is even better. -
Wouldn't it be cool if there was some way to see and know if your accounting was correct or not?

Quote:LOLI wonder if right before we get the tokens Celestial Armor is removed from the list.
They will have been up for how long at that point?
30 days?
You may well be right.
Quote:You would think that they would make sure the perks for paying were working why else pay?
We're left with incarnate content. Apparently some of the incarnate powers are not functional now though.
And access to Exalted.
Other than that, I am not sure what benefit there is to remaining a subscriber.
If I want more points as a premium, I can drop some cash AND GET ALL OF POINTS AND TOKENS IN AN INSTANT.
I can't really change anything on my account until my sub expires anyway, so I have that long to see what will happen on their end. -
Quote:Yes, until they began to try and sell us stuff. Idk about MMOs in general, ut I think most other businesses, it's been demonstrated that allowing your customers to view a catalog is a good idea for promoting sales. The counter argument to that is that the fan-led sites are often able to devote far greater time and effort into producing that kind of documentation, wheras for the company that produces the game there's a cost they are unwilling to spend a huge amount of $$ resources on.
-
Quote:I didn't think it was so bad until I started trying to give them my money. It's pretty sad, but the in-game and official site documentation really pale compare to the player-made stuff. I tried to find info on what got rewarded for completed tiers for a preem friend of mine and couldn't until I looked off-site.
It's weird to have company trying to sell me things and not making it easy. totally unused to that. -
Brutes who are going to do what?
Goals determine the criteria for judgment.
The criteria determine which secondary to pick. -
I try to have a value very close to my attack chain's end/sec
Doesn't have to be equal to or greater than, but that helps. A very slow leak is alright--you only need enough end to get you through most battles. -
Quote:Too bad there's not a catalog of the merchandise that they're trying to sell.I'm guessing that Paragonwiki will have it eventually if they don't have it now. One useful trick between beta and live they changed how they are displayed in the store and now they are displayed by the lower level of the set.
I wish it were easier to give them my money. -
Where's a list of which enhancements are available in store?
