I don't see Valdermic on there ...he's got a Wicked scrapper for a Hero
And what about "that chap" who does the Europe community liason stuff?
Hey Athyna, yeah I left myself totally open on that one, but Pat Boone? Come on that's just masochism -
Hello and welcome to 3 pages ago... Nice of you to make it

Yes, it has been considered. It's one of the main problems, in fact.

Here's the Solution then: Expand the Custom-Mission tools and scripts to focus on dozens of different ways to win scenarios. ...And make the rewards for those custom missions Salvage-Based rather than EXP based.
See it's not all "fighting" in general I think people get sick of and call a Grind, it's the combination of needing very specific ratios of Damage, Damage, and more Damage with just enough Defense and Healing sprinkled in to get by.
Expanding the Objectives of missions and combat further could really open the daily-grind up to new ways for people to build their Heroes/Villains on Concept and play them successfully on Concept instead of on EXP/Hour reality. And that starts with tailoring a WIDE variety of shorter missions to every AT's specialty and unique traits with special Scenario scripting and Plot-based conflict. Sure it could result in Exploits or "Farmable" Content but that's why you reward Salvage instead of XP. ..And hell, if that Works, then apply it to some of these TaskForces that everyone hates to do currently *cough*Positrons*cough*
OR, Here's another idea: Allow players to "plant" common Salvage anywhere they want in any Zone they want... and over time it will grow into better slavage depending on how Crime-Free they manage to keep the Area surrounding that spot. Other players might be able to sweep in and snake it, but even that will encourage zone re-exploration and that's also a big time-sink. Keeping a zone cleared of certain mobs could also spawn urban renewal or repopulation by citizens who reward the Player with Salvage. -

And some of us are literate enough that we can read very fast and type very fast. Just because you might have trouble w/ teh internet and th3 readig, d rest of us r not as misfortunate.

Speaking of allacrity, I hear SoundGarden named a song after Your
internet relations, SatanicHamster. It's called "Burden in my Hand"
Now look, I could point to how ForumAddict#1 and ForumAddict#2 registered after me but have several thousands more posts... but all I want to point out is how we should compare things on their individual merits and not let Nostalgia into the equation. There's always room for improvement on an original even if we don't always agree with the direction it goes in.
Example: Say friggin Nickelback or LinkinPark or somethin' gawdawful covered Thick as a Brick ...it would be a travesty for some of us, but it would still endear the original intent of the peice to a whole new generation. I think Game-Theory is the same way and applying some habbit learned in D&D GM'ing or whatever -- to a 3D real-time simulation simply for the Nostalgia of it all makes no sense either. ...kinda like old geezers sittin round all day talkin bout how it should be when they ought to be askin what they can do to help the new generation focus on something fresh. -
Hey you got a problem with double Underscores, pal?
-
Yeah but I don't see what they need a "CEO" for. I'd think the Executive Producer title would be sufficient enough for most smaller Studios. ...I mean they don't even have a permanent HR director right now(If their website is anything to go off of)
A name I'm suprised I haven't seen yet is Poz and Pohsyb... both Programmers and likely the people most impacted by whatever feature-creep and bug issues rear their heads and make up a majority of gameplay discussion on these forums. -
Booyah! That one gets my vote. ...Simple... clever... and appetizing

Think in terms of Castling in Chess.

LMAO! Given Statesman's "handling" of some issues, he's going to wish he'd never said that -
That crap is scaring the hell out of me and I *Like* most Nekos

I've asked him in PM what kind of imagery (super-hero partciularly) he prefers, but he never answered. Perhaps he just thinks of himself as very Linear minded, one step up from a pawn so to speak. (Oof, bad Chess pun) ...and doesn't want an Icon.

What do you know, you spend all your time posting on a game forum. When was the last time you even went to a rock show or movie?

Good CD, btw.

Second one is better

Oh, and I hate 98% of the songs Queens of the Stone Age have ever performed...the albums only flaw -

Geko remains isolated in his arcane cave o' nerf. Jonyu and Castle feed him a Regen or Invul every once in awhile to sate his thirst.
[/ QUOTE ]
...but he ain't gettin no damned cookies anytime soon. Regens are still a dime a dozen, no one will miss them. Cookies however...are a rare commodity that musn't be shared with foul little sneaks. -

That's a horrible idea for team play. A single empath controller or defender's healing is already horribly difficult to overcome
[/ QUOTE ]
I wasn't aware landing a single hold on a defensless squishy was "horribly difficult"...
Ever try recruiting a Dominator? Hell, get an Ice blasting corruptor, they make even shorter work of them. I mean really, how dumb do you think I am? "Oooh, big scary Empathy Defender" ...just shuttup -

1. We're looking into the tweak to Endurance for mobs that's affected Endurance Drain abilities. Sorry about that!
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh huh... Something that reduces Endurance Drain effectiveness by 30-50 percent is a "Tweak" as usual.
[ QUOTE ]
2. We'll be putting in a check that prevents "one shotting"; if anything occurs within a fraction of second that brings a player from 100% Hit Points down to 0, we instead give the player 1% Hit Points.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yay! We'll have a whole split second to pop 2 or 3 Respites or just die anyway. ...way to "fix 1 shotting"... now we'll call it One-shotting + Brawl, or 1-shotting + Slug, or 1-shotting + Boxing ... well you get the picture.
Why not use the idea Several posters have already suggested:
Make Health Bars drop more gradually instead of instantly... You might get shot for 99% of your health, but it would take 3 seconds for you to actually die. Think of it as changing all Hits over 500 Damage into DoT's... or Something... Anything damn thing but THIS 1% idea -
Can I be Flippant too? Because I told everyone to check their "battle spam" when this topic was posted in the Training Room. But did they pay attention? Noooooo
Also from that thread:
"A 3 page topic asking what it means, and it means they fixed a typo. The devs must be laughing their [censored] off at us right now -.-"
MM Quote of the Year!!!
Your whole team could wipeout but you guys wouldn't notice because the only thing you ever watch is the orange numbers at the end of your Pet's laser cannons. PEEW! PEW! PEW! *GRIND* PEW! PEW! PEW!! -
Nice update there on your Avatar too Posi, ...looks TUFF, I certainly feel "grey" to him...
Now how about a nice little Influence/Prestiege boost so we can afford all this wonderful stuff we'll be able to do and wear in issue 7 -
My impression of it when it's happened to me is that the Damage is done (usually DoT) but
your health bar's graphic lags behind as well so it just seem like you've been practically 1-shotted -

If the things Blasters and Stalkers can do with EM haven't made us Nerf EM yet, absolutely nothing said here will. Carry on.

would you not object to my statement if I referred to Repulse as gamebreaking and exploitive when combined with brute playstyle?
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh ... ...Umm, Crap, well now you Jinxed it. I SOOOO wanted to do that too.
DAMN YOU AND YOUR LOGIC!!! -
[ QUOTE ]
said Stupid Fanboy:
i think it was more of a "removing repulse from the brute set was less of a balance issue and more about not wanting a completely useless power in the brute set".
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a pretty ignorant thing to say considering you never tried it out. If more people just took the time to learn how to actually manuever and use KB fields, they'd be GLAD to have them on a strong Melee class. My melefender has tanked whole spawns using it and the only thing that's tripped him up was Mezzes and Sleeps. There's no reason a Brute couldn't use it to clump mobs even closer together in a pile and then turn repulse off when they're ready to AoE. But more importantly, it significantly mitigates incoming damage from higher-level Bosses when used right and if there's one thing EA brutes need, it's that right there.
...Just looking at Castle's proposal for I-7, I can almost guarantee EA brutes are still going to be damn-weak against multiple +2 and higher Bosses. Even EA stalkers will be better suited in that area.

The bare legs option for Male and Huge body types has been added to an internal build. It will be coming down the QA path and to a server near you soon.
[/ QUOTE ]
QA?? What's up with that, is there some risk of "dangle" we aren't aware of?
And if you guys wanna make authentic Greeks, you should allow the "fur" pattern with the Toga -
w00t! Pohsyb FTW... Never doubt a man in the Box!
My personal favorite was actually one where I lost. I was on my MA/DA TP'ing ppl and eating Stalkers for breakfast and I notice this Dominator floating 10 ft away in the corner of my screen while everyone else was ignoring me completely. Bam! HELD, then out of nowhere, this Brute zips in and almost two-times me with Knockout and some other attack I didn't even recognize. But before I could use Dark-Regen against him, the Dom finishes me off... I'm like: "Whoah... I gotta re-evaluate the state of Doms now".
My second personal Fav was where there was about 4 or 5 MM's camping the platform above the Heroes' Helicopter and the 3 other heroes that where there just couldn't take them down fast enough to clear the platform. But I ran in with my Ill/Kin scraptroller, SupInivs, Decoys, Decieve, and 10 enrages blarring, and took out three of them in about 15 seconds and nailed the 4th as he was trying to get away up in the tower. (I can 3-shot most of them with Blind-SW-Flurry after a Fulcrum Shift) They didn't come back after that -

W, A, S, D - any combination appears equally effective.

I was going to put up a big sign that said: Don't feed the Troll
...but then Castle posted, and agreed with the troll... *sigh*
It'll probably take a Logic A-Bomb to settle this dispute that only LoS affects the interruption of a melee attack. -

when ignited your pets run away. my fire imps are useless when they ignite oil slick and run away then refuse to ever step where the ignited slick was

Have you tried immobilizing them?
...oh, wait.
Hey Devs, add that to the quality of life issues again: the ability to Immob and KB, pets and bank-robbery NPCs. ...Every Kin and FF would take Repulsion auras if it let them bounce the MM's pet the hell out of doorways.
Any MM's here btw? Yeah, why don't more of you guys take Team Teleport, huh??
It should be a required power for all of you
