My husband made a cute robot defender character named Pink Taxi Bot back in the day... You know, before there were jetpacks for lowbies, and they needed help getting around.
Well one of our SG mates had a great idea for a villain version, and so Pinko Taxi Bot was born. Pinko is a red and yellow colored corruptor, with a hammer and sickle emblem. He does not have teleport, and is inclined to call anyone who asks for a teleport a "capitalist pig."
[/ QUOTE ]
...that doesn't make sense. He should do it for free, since we're all comrades, and the regular taxibot should charge a fee because of capitalism.
Tell them I said to change their behaviours.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think Pink is all sweetness and generousity and wanting to help fellow heroes, while Pinko is pretty much a jaded obstinate [censored], who would take any excuse to be beligerant to other villains. Neither of them really "make sense" from a purely political standpoint, but that's kind of part of the fun. -
I like what you did with her body in the second one, but I think I like the style of the head more in the first one. I think the hair looked better a little wilder, and I want to say that the facial features might be a little too heavy with the smaller head area. She looked a bit cuter with the smaller nose, etc... I don't know... I think the first face looked like it had more attitude.

That's really cool. She's got a lot of attitude in that picture.

Save up some money, pay for an artist. Because you know, you get what you pay for, and if you're paying nothing, you'll get...

Husband (Blue Wrecker) and I will be popping in for wherever the M&G is held. We can't attend PAX this year, but as we live in Seattle, and we're hosting a couple CoHers, it'll be fun to hear the con stories!
Also, if any of you over the weekend stop in at the Pike Place Market, come on down to the comic store Golden Age Collectables and say hi to me! I'll be the forlorn girl behind the counter since I have to work allll weekend. Not really. I usually do have a Deer-in-the-Headlights look on my face though. Tourists'll do that to you.

Nice! A CoHer at Golden Age. I never knew...
My husband and I go to breakfast at Pike Place market every so often. We'll stop in next time. -

You should definitely come to PAX. We're gracious and nice in person, I swear. And if anyone tries to harass you about "nerfs" I'll hit them with my stick!

It's a trap!
Put the stick down, I was kidding!

Alright but I'll be annoyed if BaB comes all the way out to Seattle to hang out with us, and someone wastes all his time whining about the hover animation or something.
See for the typically Seattle experience, we should waste his time with, I don't know, maybe discussions of microbrews, and our pets, and a ton of geeky stuff.

Like the importance of layering. Or perhaps the "correct" ratio of milk to espresso in a skinny grande double almond mocha with chocolate whip.

Mmm coffee... I hope BaBs likes coffee. He's sure to get a ton of opinions on the best coffee spots in Seattle (not Starbucks). Although they have great coffee in the Bay area too, though I'm not sure about San Jose in particular. -

I would love to see a redesign for the Shard to make the stories more engaging (make it co-op too!). That's probably my number one wish for the game right now, as the Shard has so much potential currently being wasted on bad design.
I'd also love to see some short arcs that add flavor to the backstories of different zones. I'm thinking of more custom outdoor maps that grab subsections of zones. For example, an outdoor map of the Talos dock area, expanding on Spanky Rabinowitz's christening of ships.
I mean you could look at just about any of the exploration badges for fodder here. Take a section of the surrounding zone as a instanced outdoor map and give it some mission content. -

Here's my Virtueverse page for my main villain: Payback in Spades
He's EM/Electric. If you draw him, go heavy on the electric, as that's sort of the focal point of his backstory. He has a pretty simplistic but (I think) distinct costume. I'm always interested to see what people come up with for him. -
Londer and I are at the Con right now, recharging our laptop in the back of a meeting room while waiting for Terry Moore to speak. We've been here since Wednesday (well we did sleep, but other than that we've been here). We've mostly been haunting Artist Alley and talking to independent and small press folks. We'll even have some commissioned artwork of our CoX characters to share with everyone later.
The Con is a ton of fun, but wow it is massive. I'm sure we'll be running into some of you when we swing by the NCSoft booth later. I'll be the one rolling around in a wheelchair with a FREEM shirt today. And if we don't meet any of you today, we'll catch you tomorrow night! -

Hey Ex!
I don't know if its been asked or not, but is NCSoft going to make any announcements concerning City Of at Comic Con??
[/ QUOTE ]
They did at PAX last year, so if that's any indication then yes they probably will have something to say at the conventions... -

I heard back from Rock Bottom Brewery, this is what they had to say:
[ QUOTE ]
I am glad you have found interest in Rock Bottom for your dinner event. I have several possibilities for your event but need to clarify some details first. The spaces I have available are dependent on the time you want to start dinner. If you want to start any time before 800pm I do have my private room available that can hold a maximum of 50 people for a dinner. If you can start after 8pm I have a wonderful space in my upper dining room surrounded by bay windows and capable of seating up to 70. We would need to choose a limited menu for your group and all checks would include tax and a minimum gratuity. I have attached my banquet package for you to look through the various menu options. If you have any other questions please let me know.
[/ QUOTE ]
Any thoughts?

I wish I remembered how many we had at the Elephant and Castle last year. I want to say that it was probably 50 or less, but honestly, I'm horrible at estimating these things. Is there anyone at NCSoft who kept track?
Limited menu sounds fine, but I'd doublecheck and make sure that they're sensitive to people's dietary differences, etc... I know, this is Seattle, which tends to be open to variety, but I'd hate to find out that there weren't any decent vegetarian, or low fat, or whatever, choices on the limited menu. -
Updated Payback in Spades now that he's 50. Still not a ton of content, but I promise I'll add more in the future. Now I just need to write more and convince Londer to draw more.

[ QUOTE ]
Seattle Rock Bottom is not particularly well set up for this, they don't have separate rooms, just differing levels. We'll make too much noise for the other patrons (they were our default restaurant a few years ago for pre-theatre dining).
Additionally, as of the last time I was there, their menus have changed and the prices went up ($23.00 for Spicy Macaroni & Cheese with Andouille Sasuage or cajun chicken & a salad), and that may be a bit much for some of the folks coming in. Granted, that was two years ago (after continually declining service culminated in me sending the same meal back three times, we stopped going), so I could easily go back and check.
I'll also look around and see what else is in the area.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Bellevue one also had different levels. We occupied the upper level and it went fine. -

I emailed Rock Bottom today, so we'll see what they say, if anyone else wishes to try and book space for approx 50 people or so on Friday night, feel free to start looking. Please make sure they understand this will be an informal gathering that will be supported by people paying for dinner and drinks.
Any questions shoot me a PM or email at exlibris@ncsoft.com

And separate checks. It seems some places would rather not have the business of 50 people if it meant 50 checks.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Rock Bottom in Bellevue was cool with this two years ago, so hopefully the one in Seattle will be as well. Overall, it sounds like Rock Bottom is a good choice.
Londer and I will buy a couple pitchers for all to share. -
You know I felt some sympathy for people on high pop servers that got locked out last time, because we for the most part, weren't aware that would happen. Now, for this double XP weekend, people should be ready for the possibility and figure it into their double XP plans.
Yes that means have an alt ready to play on a non-high pop server. You can always transfer that alt to Freedom or Virtue later. If you're planning something with your SG or friends, try planning it for non-peak times.
Personally, I play on three servers. Virtue is one of them, but I'll probably only play on Virtue in the mornings. My double XP plans involve alts on multiple servers. -

Cheesecake! HMMMMMM
[/ QUOTE ]
I love the Cheesecake Factory, and it is really conveniently close, but do they have like a room or some sort of area they can set aside for us?
I'm assuming that we'll want enough space that we can move tables around if necessary, and get a fairly large group of people within chatting distance of each other. The place we met at two years ago (when PAX was still in Bellevue) was pretty much perfect. We took over most of their upstairs area and reconfigured the tables so that most of us were within talking distance of about ten or so other people.
Elephant and Castle was too tight, and there wasn't any opportunity to really mingle or get to meet anyone except for the two people who happened to share my small table. -

Hopefully, the helmets will be male and female.
[/ QUOTE ]
No.. Only the Widow helm is available for females.
Also, I'm a little disappointed the vet rewards are starting to be recycled. I'm surprised they didn't let you choose one of 2 other temp powers given out - like the holy shotgun or the bow & arrow from Croatoa...
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. They should add some of the other temp powers as alternate choices. Like the bow & arrow, or the sword from Croatoa... or the holy shotgun, or the voidhunter rifle, or even vial of bees! -
[ QUOTE ]
Hey gang,
I have been reading along today and just want to report it is fully in the community hands on this event to organize a get together.
We had to make a few choices this year, and PAX while getting some of the same goodies as Comic Con will not be getting an official party or get together.
So... all that said, where do WE want to party?

If anyone can suggest a place that's close to the convention center that would be awesome. Preferably a place that has ample room. Last year's was rather cramped. -

She did last year, or maybe it was the year before. She works with Tabula Rasa so she was there promoting that.

Sweet! Hopefully she'll be there again.
Although she may start to believe that Londer and I are stalking her. We're not... really... -

Mexican food is everywhere. My favorite downtown is Pokez (specializes in Vegan and Vegi. Very hipster though. I also really like Broadway Taco Co. downtown.

Wow, small world Hobo. My brother used to work part-time at Pokez. -

*cries* why couldnt you all be in Seattle instead?? Emerald city comic con I can travel to, Cali is a bit too far for me.
side note, its not really fair people in cali get an in game item others wont have access to. isnt that kinda geographically biased? would be fair if you offered them at all city's cons one year.
[/ QUOTE ]
You do know that they come to PAX every year right?
So us Seattle-ites will have our own Con goodness to harrass the NCSoft folks at. I just happen to be going to *both* SD ComicCon and PAX this year, so I can bother them twice. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have a similar question along the same lines. We have tickets for Friday currently but as I look over the web I'm wondering if we don't need to get tickets for Thursday as well. I'm afraid one day just won't be enough to see everything.
So would you suggest grabbing tix for Thursday as well. Our wedding should be over with around 9:30am so I figure we can get a full 2 days in at the comic con and bump the zoo to Saturday ;-p
Also does anyone have any suggestions on parking...I have never been to SD before so I'm not sure where to park. I know on their website they say to park at the Mission Valley stop.
[/ QUOTE ]
It would probably be wise to get Thursday tickets as well. That way you can get your bearings on Thursday before the complete craziness of the Friday crowds.
I haven't been back to San Diego in a few years, but it sounds like parking at the Mission Valley or Fashion Valley mall, and then taking the trolley to the convention center is the way to do it. Parking downtown should be avoided if you can help it.
Also, if you've never been to San Diego before, you and your partner should stop in Hillcrest at least for coffee or lunch or something. It's the heart of San Diego's LGBT community, and home to some good restaurants and shops too.
