Quote:Making these ridiculously stupid posts of "YEAH WE ROFLSTOMPED THEM HAHAHAHAHA" On a public forum shows several things. The matches we seen yall rofflestomped them...and yall refused to fite us last night...we asked you several times.
1) Being a respectful competitor is something you have no interest in. All you really care about is running your silly little mouth and trying to make yourself seem big when in all reality, no one really cares what you have to say.
Like seriously, who would want to take you seriously or even practice with you when you're talking all this stupid garbage in a public forum (and arena chat).
"Yeah man that one time we fought RAFTW, we were totally like roflstomping them it was terribad!!bahahahah" (but a week later we lost to their jump team)
2) Either way, bringing up previous non-official matches to further inflate your somewhat little ego is bad form. Not only does it go against your constant notion of "I really don't care what anyone says", it further shows your blatant stupidity and very limited IQ. Provoking other players with your nonsensical comments is a sure way to singling yourself (and your team) out of getting practice matches with other teams.
Please sir kindly refrain from typing on that keyboard and save us the time and energy of reading your garbage.
Like I take Frost Elf D more seriously, and that's saying a lot.
Also...
Quote:Those matches were not the jump team, we were testing out some other stuff. And you didn't see them.
As for you killing my tank one time. First of all it wasn't an official. Second of all I have never in my entire pvp career died 14 times in one match. Ever. Never. Even if I was afk rubbing one out I couldn't die 14 times in one match like you did. Perhaps I should get pff on my tank so I don't have to worry about learning how to evade -

CIGAL VS EP
Match 1
11-9 CIGAL
4-3 CIGAL
6-12 EP
I received this tell from an anonymous person on EP before the matches tonight.
[Tell] -EP Team Captain: you going to watch me wreck you old team tonight?
Despite the fact that we lost the last match by a rather large margin I'd hardly consider that a "wreck"ing. And also considering it was only one match. Either way, good fight EP

Stalkers-
This is a pain. For PvP balance issues this whole AT is a problem. On the one hand, they are (as of now) impossible to see, unless the stalkers attack or enter an area in which dmg will unhide them, and they do a devastating amount of UNRESISTED dmg from either critical hits or AS. On the other hand, while being visible, their survivability is dubious. This, IMO, was a mistake to bring to the game and now the matter is a tough one of what to do with it. 3-4 Spines stalkers coordinate one target, while completely unseen, Crit Impale, target gone, and move on to next. How to counter that? Well, exiting the zone is a great way to do it. Gone Rogue will have Stalkers on both sides and have VEATS on both sides. VEATS, who have higher perception cap, will be sought for that perception, among other things. This will turn VEATS into prime targets for the stalkers, all of them. Gone Rogue might turn into VEATS Goneā¦ Farmed. Who knows?

Quote:I will go slow for you cause you seem a little simple. When you ask a question you end the the sentence the a question mark. It looks like this ? just so you know. When you make a statement, like you did about your feelings toward your question you end it with a period. It looks like this . just so you know. We still on a the same page? Then lets continue.
This was the question. It was answered. No problems so far.
Moving on.
OOOOO, what do we have here. A declaration about how you feel toward what is going on in your question. Saying its not right is you complaining that you do not think its fair or working as intended. There is no reading between the lines. No assumptions. You yourself put out there exactly how you feel about it.
Now lets cover what I was replying to earlier, which had nothing to do with either of these.
Now see the cute part here is, you have stated that making assumptions makes people look ignorant. Yet here we are with you making assumption about an at and how it plays and posting about it on a public forums. Care to guess who is really looking ignorant atm?
I like the part where you try to redirect like you didn't mean what you said and I should have assumed you meant it different in the same post you tell me not to assume. Clever.
Also lets grab one more of your gems.
Making a post about not complaining and then complaining in the same post is awesome.
One small piece of advice. Before you ever hit submit reply ever again. Read what you wrote and make sure its what you really wanted to say. At least then when you get shredded in public you can at least think you did the right thing. Instead of backpedaling and double talking and looking like a dipstick. Which is what you are currently doing.
Thanks for playing, have a good day. -

It's pretty obvious that the OPness of this set is SO IMPORTANT that it had to be addressed ASAP.

Please kindly remove @Alpha-Zulu from the roster.
Thank you. -
Everyone's gonna be bringing Tier 3's.

Quote:They can't. They don't know how to PvP nor do they care to actually understand how PvP works.I'll leave it to black_barrier and macskull and the other great PvPers to pose the questions. I really wish the development team would actually invest in PvP.
"I'm going to test out the new I13 PvP in the arena with a team build ice/kin controller in a duel!"
Yeah that worked out so great.
Quote:Originally Posted by Cyber_nautI agree something is 'horribly broken'.
I would submit these reasons why this 'horribly broken' situation exists. One, the pvp revamp was TERRIBLE, thereby reducing player interest, and the drop rate is RIDICULOUSLY low, thereby destroying most interest that dynamic might have created for pvp.
Quote:I don't. 2 hours 8v8 means nothing to me. 26 kills vs. 11 kills means more, but still is not enough information to make any sort of judgment on the validity of the drop rate.
If 2 teams go at it repeatedly for 10 minutes in the arena, but one team keeps completely hammering 2 toons on the opposing team, the chance for a drop is low. However, in order to Win the arena match, it would be in one team's best interest to attack the weakest link on the opposing team. So it pretty much boils down to A) Keep farming the same target over and over so you win but at the same time you pretty much kill your chance at getting a PvP drop because you're farming one person or B) Attempting to spike other characters but you run the risk of not winning if the other players you are spiking aren't as easy to kill (tankers/brutes/scrappers for example)
Quote:Inflation is rampant. Things going for more than the market cap is obviously a problem, considering the market cap is supposed to be the individual wealth cap. Obviously, something is quite horribly broken there.
Quote:Originally Posted by CastleTake too many risks at once and have them all fall through and your company is belly up.
Ya'll took WAY too many risks/changes with the I13 PvP changes and basically ****** everything up. PvP was not made any more fun or easier. Nor was the bar for entry lowered. In fact it was raised and made harder.
Bitter ice blast does PATHETIC damage in PvP. Hell Ice Blast (also Ice Assault for Dominators) in general is just plain bad. Yet attacks such as Fossilize and Laser Beam eyes do far more damage than powers in a primary powerset.
Do I also need to mention entire powersets (or certain powers in powersets) were basically made useless thanks to PvP 2.0?
No sir, despite what you and the dev team may think. You did not fix ANYTHING with PvP 2.0, you just made it infinitely worse and have done close to NOTHING to make it easier for newer players to understand the mechanics of the new system.
If you're going to try and give the illusion that you're making educated well thought out decisions/changes to PvP, then take your own advice and make changes that make sense.
Lastly, if any sort of "rep" or "experience" or "token" system is going to be implemented for rewarding players something for kills in PvP, perhaps you should try copying the idea Sony used in their MMOFPS Planetside.
The amount of XP that was awarded to a player when they killed another player in PvP was based on several factors.
The amount of time the person who was killed was alive.
How many players they had killed before they themself were killed.
There was also a bonus awarded for killing multiple players at once. If you had managed to destroy a vehicle that had 5 players in it, you got a pretty hefty bonus. Obviously something like that wouldn't really work unless, we put some sort of timer on it but then we run into the problem of it being brokenly exploitable.
Another issue that might arise would be, what about support type classes that really don't "kill" stuff. How do they get awarded?
Based on amount of healing/buffing/debuffing a player would do, they would be awarded a certain amount of "Support XP". This wasn't nearly as much as killing someone, but it was still an amount that was worth getting in the end. -
Boxing, tough, weave, and fast healing aren't going to help you any in pvp.
Pick up Combat jumping, super jump, invis and phase.
Personally I'd skip Bone smasher all together to pick up a patron attack. -
Quote:- If you remove the critical effect from stalker patrons, AS needs to be buffed. Either through raising the base damage or lowering the DR curve on damage for stalkers. Back in the day, one hit after getting AS'd meant you were dead on a squishy. The interrupt time on AS should be used when calculating the base damage.
Agreed. The damage dealt from sharks is pretty OP. Why AS when sharks does just as much damage as the central damage dealing power of the AT?
Sharks needs to do less and AS needs to do significantly more. As it stands, getting ASed isn't nearly as threatening as it once was.
While we're looking at sharks and how much stupid damage they do, take a look at powers such as fossilize for tankers. It does more damage than Bitter Ice blast and Ice blast. Something is horribly wrong here.
And of course, Placate is still broke on stalkers.
The manner in which objects/characters are rendered in the game engine puts stalker players at a disadvantage in PvP. From a distance the graphics engine has to render the stalker and you can have a general idea of where they're standing. As you get close, they'll disappear completely.
Brute fury needs to actually be looked at. (The ghetto "we accidentally fixed it" doesn't count.)
Quote:In what way does being capable of 2 shotting a squishy make it smarter? No AT should be able to do that. 3 shots, sure as that at least gives noobs a chance to survive for a few seconds. Increasing their damage makes AS the I Win button that so many people already feel they have.
I agree that something should be done about AS, as there are way too many bad Stalkers that can't manage to do more than spam Impale, but increasing the damage isn't the best way to do it.
The placate proc going off 100% of the time in Will Dom in blasters also needs to be looked at.
ARENA
I'd also suggest adding MORE arena options. Being able to turn off DR to certain items such as Recharge and Healing powers would be great. (And yes I want an "i12" option)
The respawn timer is retarded. The player that died is put at a disadvantage. While they're waiting for the timer, their teammates are down one person.
Perfect example. 2v2 match, Offense + Support VS Offence + Support.
Support toon on one team dies. Respawn timer of 15 seconds pops up. Mean while, offense is attacking and spiking the other offensive toon while he buddy is sitting for the respawn timer. Another retarded feature about the respawn timer is that it's inconsistent. In one instance you'll get a respawn time of 10 seconds, the next will be 7, the next 15, the next 5. Either you should have a set respawn timer or NONE at all.
Back in i12, you could click respawn and you still had the several seconds of "unaffectable" status.
Give us the option to choose between a respawn timer or a "Click to respawn" button.
Scoreboard
A scoreboard you can bring up while in the match would be ideal. Also a scoreboard that tallies up all the kills/deaths in real time. (Yes I can add, but just about any other pvp game that has a scoring system has a scoreboard that adds the kills up).
Observers
Need to be faster, and have more perception to see the stealthed arena players.
BTW Thanks for the stealth nerf to PvP drops. -
What are your in-game Globals?: @Nappy
What characters do you have on Freedom?: 50 Ice/Rad corr, 50 ice/kin corr, 50 stone/stone brute
Are you willing to respec into a PvP build?: yes
Are you willing to roll a new character if needed?: yes
Briefly describe your PvP experience: I can pvp -
Quote:Make an AT that doesn't suck so much in i13 pvp.It is unfair to MMs who can't move at the speed cap, unless they want to get out of BG. Stupid melee toons KEEP RUNNING AWAY AT ONE HP and I can't catch up to them or I'll get one shotted. Increase travel suppression higher so the wussies die.
Give your kind regards to Castle and Positron. -
