  1. I would gladly recommend A Tangle in Time (2622) for Sila.

    Canon Fodder

My arc, The History of Statesman (219484) consist of almost all custom mobs, and despite the name, disregards canon almost completely. Feel free to give that a try.

I would also recommend @guvnor's Challenge of the Splendid Pals, chock full of customs with great writing.

This arc was surreal but fun. I waffled between giving this 4 or 5 stars. The final mission being weaker than the previous missions, plus not understanding why TIEM MASHEEN did any of this in the first place, ended up making me settle on 4 stars.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Had complaints before of a more interesting final mission, but this pushed me. Hefty update tonight! Motivations are straightened out and mission 4 is conveniently relocated in scenic Detroit! But it's gonna be more than just a map change... expect things to be a lot more hectic.

If you haven't tried it yet, now's a great time to give it a whirl!
  4. Thanks for the review, PW!

His motivation at that point, admittedly, was personally undecided. Thanks for catching that, I updated his dialogue and clues to make more sense. Heck, I just gave the last mission a makeover, hopefully it'll offer more of a unique experience.

    Overall:
Interesting plot, even though I didn't like my toon portrayed as a nutcase. Nice custom mobs. I'd avoid having multiple instances of patrols/guard groups/etc. having the same text.
The addition of the Clockwork King didn't make any sense to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

...Maybe it would make sense if you actually finished the arc? You left out the last mission, IIRC.

    Blight - 140423

That whole cape incident left him a bit crabby.

Anyway, I'm glad this arc's finally getting the attention it deserves. It's a favourite of mine.
  7. I hope it works like auras where darker colors would make them less visible. Goodbye ice armor
  8. Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed both arcs! The reason I repeated the conclusion was because I didn't want teammates to miss out on text that only the leader can access. Now that I think of it, I could use some extra kilobytes...
  9. Citizen_Razor's review of the History of Statesman.

This was a very well-done story arc. The “Lawd Nemesis” group was clever and well-designed. I didn’t see any typos. (Doesn’t mean there weren’t any, just that I didn’t notice them.) The story was amusing, and the internal story-logic was consistent. I enjoyed seeing the twisted history of Statesman. There was an “A-Story” (the inaccurate history of Statesman) and a “B-Story” (the Mender Lazarus part), something that can be difficult to pull off given the limitations of AE, but the architect managed to pull it off very well. I also really appreciated the little touches and details that were put into this story arc, such as all of the animations making it very easy to find the objectives, and all of the custom bios.

  10. All my arcs should be manageable at your current level. The History of Statesman is a humor arc while the other two are more serious. Feel free to check them out below.
    vvvv
  11. I recently gave this arc a sizeable update. On top of some bonus NPCs, you'll be much more involved with Lazarus' musings rather than watching him from the sidelines most of the time. Hopefully he won't detract too much from the main story.

If you haven't played this arc yet, now would be a great time! I'll need some fresh minds to see if the arc is still clear to follow and understand. Let me know what you think!
  12. That one base in the Imperious Task Force. You know the one.
  13. Following suit:

    The History of Statesman (219484)
    4 missions - Comedy - Heroic - Levels 40-50
  14. The Splendid Pals trilogy is the closest thing I can think of.
  15. @Wrong Number : Nice job. Especially nice work on all the customs. Your humor review will be up in a bit. WN

And here's the review. Thanks for the feedback! http://boards.cityofvillains.com/showfla...ue#Post13629049

@Tahlana : Best [SPOILERS] ever haha! Very fun, loved all the customs. The dialog was hilarious. The last mission was a little weak (maybe make it more interesting? (if you have room)) but the ending was great.

Well, I can spare a few kilobytes... (It's been topped off at 99% after this update.)

@Lazorman : Hahaha, History of Statesman was brilliant! I loved your parodies of the various minions (wow, good job cramming that many customs in!!). So many laugh-out-loud moments, like the [SPOILERS] gauntlet, haha! And I saw what you did there with Statesman [SPOILERS]! And you even managed to even mock the [SPOILERS] cliche. Well done, sir. 5 stars

@MrCaptainMan : Top banana! Really funny all round. One thing - the first debris pile in the final mission was soooo sloooow that I assumed there'd be a special prize clue drop for doing them all, so I felt a little disappointed, even with the amusing last glowie nav message. Very good arc, though. Comedy Gold. Your writing shines.

I was thinking of having them spawn a large Statesman-only ambush, but I think it might clash with the lore a bit.

@Aehaed : This is awesome! Unfortunately I had to abandon it after the second mission, but I hope to come back to this someday soon. 5-star.

    You won't be disappointed.

@Katman65 : What can I say you certainly entertained me thanx and Gratz very good story.

@Archdemon : Purple text is a bit hard to read. TIEM MASHEEN still has default bio...I was expecting something funny. Overall though it was very funny, with well-designed customs.

    @Boltcutter : educational!

    @Noght : Big Fun. Kudos.
  16. Thanks for the review, Glazius!

Wow. What are these things I have to destroy? I don't think I've ever seen them before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They're portal generators from a Vanguard arc IIRC.

Also, all these lesser dictators look like Mikes to me. Do they look like Mikes to you, or more like Vegas?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Depends on which side of Pearl Harbor you were gunning for. They had to switch names around to confuse intel.

    [ QUOTE ]
Aw. No sendup of the final speech of The Great Dictator? I guess you're going to be really tight on space here, but even so.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, he wasn't exactly remembered for his voice... But I'm sure you've experienced the full extent of his 'slapstick'. Then again, he DOES speak in this movie. Looks like I have some research for movie night.

These transmissions from Lazarus are completely hilarious. Nice lampshade hanging there. No, seriously, I love it.

There's nothing funny about 'The Coming Storm'.

Aw. I was hoping for like a crappy souvenir from the future or something. for actually participating in this interactive fundutainment.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Definitely after I15. I'm still waiting on that filesize reduction.

    [ QUOTE ]
Detail - *****. Read the descriptions. Seriously. Read them all. The more you know already, the funnier they'll get.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or better yet, DON'T read all of them, so you get an inkling to play through this arc once again. Preferrably after a week, when rating permissions are refreshed.
  17. I have run The History of Statesman (219484) on a large team several times with great success. All the mobs are custom but they all have their primary skills set to normal (no +dmg at all) and are given a normal regen secondary (which is nothing but 2 crappy passives, essentially no secondary at all).

Best of all, not only is it entertaining even without all the reading, it's educational too.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, if you want to tie a custom group into the history of an existing one you really need to study your CoX lore and keep your facts straight and concepts logically consistent.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or you can tag it with [NCMA] and be on your merry way.

Speaking of which, I played through the MacGuffin Delivery Service and sent you feedback in-game. Hope you have as much fun with this arc as I did with yours.

  19. Go ahead and try The History of Statesman (219484), looking forward to your feedback. Keep in mind that this arc is swarming with tributes, so if you don't understand something chances are it's some sort of reference.
  20. I think Eclipse Over Paragon (64609) can qualify. Feel free to try that out.
  21. I gave some feedback on Teen Phalanx Forever earlier this week, so if you can provide some for my new arc The History of Statesman (219484) I'd appreciate it very much.
  22. I just put up a new arc recently, The History of Statesman (219484), you might want to try that.
  23. I have just uploaded a new arc, The History of Statesman (219484). Be sure to try it, it's educational.

    Agreed. Totally awesome.
  25. Altoholic_Monkey, I just took down Blargrimmar Wants You! (4572) and replaced it with The History of Statesman (219484). Go ahead and do the same to your list, it's still a long arc with less than 100 ratings.
