I honestly believe everyone will have different opinions on this matter.
Therefore a solution will never be made...

I want them all.
All choices seem so cool, how can I choose?! -
I didn't know posts this far back still existed. I was seriously confused when I read the OP's post. Checked the date straight away, and was happy to see they didn't give AB its Disorient back

I know you are right in what you say, S_F, yet I think that using things as Damage/Ranges, which are easy enough to get, were a very nice way to have *some* disparity between different characters. It's still not overpowering, since the Cones are all limited to a maximum number already. Either we stack mobs to get the odds in our favour, or we use something as extraordinary as a Hamidon Origin to do the same thing -- Devs have always said they wanted to discourage herding, so it seems Dam/Ranges were a step in the right direction there
Perhaps it does not fit into the Developer vision of how every power is supposed to be perfectly balanced in comparison to other powers, but it sure did create some diversity, albeit on a very minor scale. -
Personally, I have an easier time hitting multiple targets with Headsplitter than I do with Shadow Maul -- part due to the fact I play Broadsword for almost two years now, but also part due to Headsplitter's cone being a slight "line" as opposed to Shadow Mauls width. If targets are standing behind eachother, it's extremely simple to hit the one in the back while hitting the one in the front too (Headsplitter allows a 'larger' distance between both targets than SM does).
Still, I think Headsplitter's cone is just the cherry on top of an already awesome power. Even without any form of cone, Headsplitter would be a most brutal attack. I would not consider Shadow Maul without its cone as such. Shadow Maul's animation can feel so tediously long, that *not* hitting more than one target is almost not worth it. -
[ QUOTE ]
Some of those tiny cone powers are realy single target attacks, that, sometimes affect more then 1 target as a bonus. But, it shouldn't happen all the time. Nor should you feel like you wasted it when you don't hit 2+ targets, but when you do great, more power to you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Headsplitter is a good example of this. Damage/Ranges really don't make me hit *more* targets -- they just make it easier to get more bang for your buck from the cone. That and hitting something while it really is blatantly obvious it's not in Melee Range is just fun as hell. -
[ QUOTE ]
HO's increasing Range was a bug.

But such a fun bug
My Headsplitter weeps for the loss of its Damage/Ranges come Issue 7 -

I'm with DarthMord. I don't trust that the buff to MoG would compensate for the nerf to potential regen. And Castle said they're going to change MoG at some point, just that it's not a priority. Maybe someday it will make it to the "Soon" category.
[/ QUOTE ]
And then get an upgrade from "soon" to "sooner than soon"? Seems this will take a while indeed -
On one hand I'm interested in seeing MoG (and perhaps IH) getting a tweak/fix, but on the other hand I'm so happy they're *finally* leaving Regen alone for once.
I'm enjoying it as it is now, without having MoG btw (that power is still really silly) and I'm still a little worried that if they ever make more tweaks to Regen, Quick Recovery is up for the chopping block next (considering the reasons the Devs gave why Brutes had no Regen and Stalkers no QR).
Edit: oh and I justed joined that channel "the regen lounge", to check it out, yet there's completely *noone* around but myself -

My understanding is that there's a cap to the HP buffs you can get, without any accolades dull pain slotted 3 heal will put you at or near that cap; if you have portal jockey & freedom phalanx reserve accolades then you're over the cap with dull pain active, so an additional 5% HP accolade won't affect the DP value, but it will affect your base (non-DP) hit points.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bah, I hope that's not the case -- some people suggested on test that the accolade still has trouble functioning -- otherwise, I'd be disappointed.
More HP is more Regen, and one can never have enough of that -
I just noticed that TF commander, doesn't seem to work in conjunction with Dull Pain. I just got on test, and got booted right away, so I didn't get the chance to see if it actually boosted my HP without Dull Pain, but *with* Dull Pain, I noticed no changes.
Should it not increase both DP's and Recon's Healing factor, as they're both based off of full HP? I might be wrong here, but I was so happy with another HP Accolade -- I almost thought Regen actually got a boost here.
Edit: I also noticed NO increase in my total HP with DP running. With the new Accolade, I should at least see a slight increase in my total HP + DP, even if DP were based off of standard HP, not modified by Accolades. -

When I am extremely bored I like to try really dumb things out, so far a group of friends have confused several monsters/av into fighting each other. The first one was when diabolique fought infernal, and she kick his butt hardcore.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see you had Diabolique fight Infernal too. Some friends and I did the same thing, but Diabolique did NOT kick Infernal's butt, but rather the other way around. She did not have a chance at all. He hit her consistently for 2000-2500 hp per hit. We had to keep her held when she was almost defeated, to prevent her from using her PFF.
Infernal hits Diabolique with Pendulum
Infernal defeats Diabolique.
I cannot imagine her defeating Infernal ... I am inclined to say it's not really possible with the amount (or better yet lack) of damage she does.
The only other AV battle that is usually possible is Siege vs Nightstar btw. At least, it used to be, perhaps AV's follow the players to other floors these days.
Edit: added screenshots -

There was a period of time in November/early December where no count was being tracked or even stored for datamining.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I was told twice by GM's no progress could be found under my toon's name. Needless to say, I was not happy, as I launched the rocket a full 6 times *right* when Warburg first appeared on live servers.
[ QUOTE ]
1) The badge will have a meter on it. It will be retroactive for how many rockets you launched in the past (i.e. how many you have credit for).
[/ QUOTE ]
I am going to assume this does NOT apply to those missiles launched during the period mentioned in the first quote? -
Unstoppable can't be "detoggled" but chances are you died cause you did loose all your toggles. Unstoppable is pretty good, but unslotted still not completely able to withstand all damage alone.
The Nullifiers actually hold you for 1/4 of a second, regardless of Status Protection or -Buffs. It's so silly, I can't even begin to describe what I think about that. -
So, Positron, can you at least confirm (or have tested) that the Longbow Nullifier Disruption Field Grenade for very high level Longbow Nullifiers (lvl 38+, might even be 40+ only) is currently bugged? I don't have a problem with Longbow per se -- they are hard, but not impossible -- but the fact that those Nullifiers can hold Brutes & Stalkers through their Status Protection (even when stacked with other forms of Status Protection effects) with *one* application of a power that has a completely different function than holding AND is AoE on top of that, is just ridiculous.

The Wardens are just insane
[/ QUOTE ]
The Invul/SS Wardens are very well capable of one-shotting anything not a Brute. They were given KO Blow for some reason, and easily do over a 1000 damage with that attack alone. My Stalker got one-shot by them at least two times, while not even Infernal managed to one-shot me with any of his attacks.
It surprises me they didn't give the Invul/EM Wardens Total Focus and Energy Transfer so they could properly one-shot Brutes too ... -
[ QUOTE ]
-At level 40 gain an AoE hold that can punch its way through a Brutes protection. Thats a bit rediculous.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know this one, it's the Disruptionfield Grenade you're talking about, and it punched right through my Stalker's status protection WITH Increased Density going too. This can only be a bug. The power itself is supposed to give a negative Res modifier, not be some unresistable magnitude hold.
I've made a post about it on the bug-boards, seen other people post about it too, but as of yet, it has not been really picked up by any programmer/dev. It's highly annoying and kind of breaks lvl 40 longbow, as soon as there's a lt amongst them. -
The Energy Transfer health loss still kicks in alot after using Placate. Especially if one uses ET *right* after Placate, then the health loss always seems to take place. So, either this is "working as intended" and ET's health loss is only supposed to be countered when truly hidden, or it's a bug.
Come to think of it, ALL Stalker attacks have a 20% chance to do a critical when a target is held, so why doesn't ET have a 20% chance to avoid health loss when a target is held? Seems only fair, no? -

From today's patch notes:
[ QUOTE ]
Tasks
* Villains who have used the respec granted by the first respec trial will now be properly granted the respec from the second trial.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, there was something hinky with these accolades. Hope it fixes Leery.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had the same thing in mind, but I went to see Leery after the patch, and he still refused to give me anything. -
[ QUOTE ]
So basicly, you need to have a respec left to work with Leary, interesting.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, yes & no. At first, the MM had only done one respec (the first one) and hadn't used it. We started doing his Leery missions and they worked just fine. Now, when he turned 37, he decided to use his respec, so he could sell his enhancements. After he used his respec, Leery stopped giving him missions. We then did the second respec trial, to see if an open respec was the thing that unlocked Leery, but this didn't work.
So, from what I gather, only having an open, unused respec can unlock Leery (at this moment). The minute you use a respec, no matter if you have another open one left, he stops giving missions. So I think he's bugged atm. -
[ QUOTE ]
New theory:
Leery requires you to have both un-respecked badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not how it worked for this friend of mine (the 37 MM). He had only one unused respec (not having done the second one yet) and he could get Arbiter Leery's missions. In fact, he now (after using his respec) has a mission from Arbiter Leery stuck in his missionlog. We finished the mission, but he cannot clear it out of his log, since Leery won't talk to him anymore.
Edit: in fact, I'm quite certain that this can't be true. This level 40 Brute, who has only done the first respec too (but not used it) could do all Leery's missions (we did them last night). -
Something's up with this Leery. A friend of mine (a level 37 MM) got Leery as a contact, after having done the first (the lower level) respec. We started doing Leery's missions and managed to do three of them. He then got to level 37, used his respec, and all of a sudden, Leery has stopped giving him missions. In fact, Leery now says, what he says to anyone not meeting his requirements, whatever they (now) may be.
I tried to get him myself, but having gotten the first respec and having also used it before I tried to get Leery, he gave me his 'speech' right away.
Another guy I know (a level 40 Brute) got Leery once he got to 40 *and* had the first respec active. He still hasn't used this respec and he can do Leery's missions just fine.
Perhaps having a respec and not using them is the key here? Cause we did another respec, just to make sure we each had an active (useable) one too, and Leery still doesn't want to give me missions, or continue the arc for the MM (whose contact bar is halfway).
There's definatly something wrong with this contact, and my best quess is either they changed the requirements for Leery *during* the time my MM pal was doing his missions *or* he's plain & simply bugged. -

I've never heard of a level 32 Scrapper power doing a triple Critical (or a quadruple critical for that matter).
[/ QUOTE ] You just gotta believe in yourself _SWA_...
[/ QUOTE ]
If only it were that easy. I'd believe my Headsplitter(s) would do triple criticals *all* the time -
[ QUOTE ]
and some rare time 4xDamage (when both crit chances kick in at the same time)
[/ QUOTE ]
I've never heard of a level 32 Scrapper power doing a triple Critical (or a quadruple critical for that matter). The inherent chance each level 32 attack has (Headsplitter, GD, EC) only adds to the normal chance of doing a critical hit. In all my time with playing Scrappers (which is basically all I did) I've never seen a triple or quadruple Critical. Ever. -
