Fixed. Paragon City has got to be the worst city on Earth. The hospitals are the size of apartment complexes, there are no ramps anywhere within the city for the disabled, the fire department consists of one man with a hat and a few backpacks, the jail leaks prisoners like a piece of tissue paper under a waterfall. The list just goes on and on.

Quote:Only a small handful of people actually complained about the blaster changes. Everyone else, aka the majority of the CoH population, eagerly waited for those changes. I24 was, like, a hugely anticipated issue mostly because of those changes. They didn't "destroy everyone's" concept of blasters, they only destroyed yours. The "FIX" for blasters was a perfect recent example. After 8 fricking years finally blasters were getting improved. IMPROVED MY Fing aunt Fanny. No No moving blaster's stats up a little so they are in line with all the other ATs is too simple. The devs have to show how brilliant they are and DESTROY EVERYONE'S concept for their blaster.
Hats off. -
Quote:CoH was pretty awful when it came to the female model, yo. The lowest you could slide the chest slider for females is a C cup, and you have the ability to make them absolutely enormous. The waist is, by default, unnaturally tiny, and only near the largest setting does it look pretty normal. The female walk animation makes your character look like they're walking down a runway at all times, and the run animation isn't much better. And lets not forget that entire stretch of time where, in every new costume pack we got on the market, the men would get coats, vests, etc. while the women's only option were revealing corsets and collars.I suppose my biggest objection* to the B&S female characters is the character model itself: the basic anatomical framework is just absurd, even more ridiculous than the proportions available in CoH. Well, that and the ridiculous walking animations and such... It's kind of a given that any game with an extensive costume selection is going to have "tart-o-rama" possibilities. It's kind of a given for the market.
This game was made by horndog men and it shows. -
Quote:Calm down.Sounds like thou fairest Fansy has a couple alt accounts he suddenly found the need to post with.
I call b.s. I would also like to remind everyone once again of all the other b.s. formerly spewed on these forums. Remember all the false rumors that have had to be debunked publicly by not only our own overworked mods but whole other development houses as well, who shouldn't have to interrupt their own business to do that. And it's all because some weirdos are so desperate for attention that they have to sink to this nonsense.
Honestly, the absurdity gets more extreme with every week that goes by. NC already said "fahgetaboutit, period, end of story." If they weren't going to hand the reins over to a then-still-together Paragon Studios at the peak of the SaveCoH campaign when they were taking the most damage, they're not going to get involved in any half-baked scheme with unknown underlings later.
Fansy should be banned, to be honest, as should the other false-rumor mongers. Take your entertainment from such a dufus if you will, but don't anybody believe a word of it. -

Quote:You just said "Our system sucks, but because another game does it worse that makes ours perfect." Yeah. Now lets translate this to a game like WoW, go try to get the end-game merit-thingy they use to progress for end-game armor in a team in random dungeons.
Then do the same solo... oh wait: they dont let you even do ANY progress towards that solo.
Quote:If having a solo path that was equal to the team path would detract from the team path that means that those people who moved on to the now equal solo path were not in the iTrials for the teaming but merely because it was the path of least resistance. Why not let teaming stand on its own merits instead of browbeating the community into it. If it was fun people would be doing it. If you have to coerce people to do it a redesign might be in order.
Quote:The super long drawn out story lines going over multiple issues was a poor idea (Praetoria, Coming Storm etc). These plots should have been no longer than 2-3 issues. When you get 3-4 issues a year a multiple issue arc is not a great idea.
This should have been the standard for all content in the game. One issue per storyline. Maybe two issues for massive things like the Coming Storm. Not the six issues of Praetoria we got that introduced characters that had no meaning while completely ignoring ones that did, created entire new zones from scratch that became dead within weeks, answered questions no one asked, was filled with plot holes and inconsistencies, and overall lacked the quality and impact so much of the older content had in abundance. -
Quote:Have you played the end game of most MMOs? CoH is nowhere near as "grindy" as them. The ONLY end game "power" that a solo or small team cannot accomplish is Hybrid. Had CoH lived...there was already plans for a small team/solo option for Hybrid.Quote:Well considering most people team - that kinda makes business sense to cater to those people. It was never about persecuting soloers as much as they like to play the martyr role. I did the solo path on one of my toons (Well ok Duoed with a friend) and had no issues getting all my incarnate stuff.
Running just one Underground Trial (which takes about an hour and a half) earned me the remaining 90% and even got me about 5% into the next two Incarnate Powers.
That was Matt "Positron" Miller's vision. The disparity between the two examples above is absolutely ridiculous, but the guy did not care one bit. He actually said he didn't even expect solo/small team players to want an endgame option and was completely surprised when players complained about the forced league content. Which is funny considering CoH has been giving small team/solo players regular content and quality of life improvements for 6 years. Hell, Praetoria is practically unplayable on a large team. And this has always been a draw for CoH; that, if you wanted, you almost always had the option to play it solo.
And this is just one problem of many with his end game Incarnate system and overall "vision".
Quote:You are right that pvp has ALWAYS been borked in CoH...which is why on my wishlist of a CoH2 ...pvp never exists. -
I completely disagree with that. Sure, he may have been around the longest, but that doesn't mean he always made smart decisions. He actually became pretty close minded as the years went by. I really feel like a new CoH could easily survive without him, and maybe even do better with fresh blood. We could get an actual endgame that doesn't punish small team/solo players, or force the player to grind as badly as ours did. Not to mention implementing a better PvP system and getting a lead designer that's actually familiar with the lore.

Quote:It'd help if folks stopped posting in that forum, though, considering so many people were forced to no longer be VIPs and are excluded from discussions. And also... yeah, we know.

I live near Detroit and even we're getting harsh winds. All day it's been ridiculously and constantly windy. Nothing dangerous at all, though. We're probs getting small leftovers.
-
Eh. Matt Miller wasn't CoH. I'm sure we could still get a good spiritual successor someday without him. Possibly one without the Incarnate path mess.

You put a negative spin on the game ending. I put a positive one on it. That's kind of the definition of a Debby Downer, bud.
-
Or instead we win and save the Earth, bask triumphantly in our glory, give a memorable heroic/villainous speech, then proceed to enter battle against our enemies, the villains/heroes, in a never ending war for justice/power as the screen fades to black and the words "The End" roll up.
Honestly, don't be such a Debby Downer. -
We're ending like we began; fighting the Rikti.

Quote:Agreed. They could've used someone that isn't such a massively important NPC within the game. If they wanted to stick with the Vanguard angle, make it Guassian. He's not obscure and is well established, but at the same time he isn't so important that he's the leader of the entire freakin' group. Especially considering he's the head of Vangaurd Intelligence and Tactics, it'd probably make the most sense for him to be the spy.Yeah, I wasn't crazy about that one either, but it was a distinct possiblity. Truth be told, I'd rather it be someone known than a new character like they seemed to be leaning towards at the end of it. A new character would be too obvious and/or feel shoehorned in if they wanted a double-agent.
