River Song on NCIS?

I saw the preview of next week's NCIS and the shorter version, not the one here ended with the reveal of the "mysterious woman" as actress Alex Kingston aka River Song. When DiNozzo asks "who are you exactly" and she replies "your worse nightmare" I burst out laughing simply because of a fleeting thought of a Doctor Who or at least a River Song crossover with NCIS.

Are your episodes delayed from the States? I think I recall weird dancing on one of the Tuesday detective shows.

She's appeared on episodes of both CSI and Law & Order: SVU before as well. Except her first appearance as River in DW happened before I caught her in reruns of those other shows, so like you I immediately said "River!!" when I saw her onscreen.

As long as her first line on meeting Gibbs isn't "Hello Sweetie!" I think we'll be okay.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

You are correct, she played Dr. Elizabeth Corday surgeon married to Dr. Mark Green. I so loved that character.

Personally I feel like NCIS has gone downhill since they ran off Donald Bellisario as showrunner. An appearance by River Song might actually make the show worth watching again.

I was hoping for even a little Doctor Who in-joke like her other aliases. Oh well.

Seems to me, and with Criminal Minds as well, that they're focusing more on the characters in the last year or so than the plot, which is what I'm really interested in. Having some character development is fine, but it might be taking up too much screen time these days. I really felt that way with the latest Criminal Minds episode: they came in to the location, pondered for a short time, made the correct assumptions in a few minutes, then went door busting. Do they ever bust into the wrong person's house? It was just too quick and done. NCIS puts in a few more twists and turns, but not many.

Oh, and did anyone else stand up and cheer when Gibs punched out the pedophile?
