Regarding the troll face - did you read the subject of the thread and see where it was posted?

I was getting attacked and I replied with animal cuddles and hugs. I get your point: make sure I am as bloodthirsty and nasty as humanly possible when it comes to replies, instead of making light of the situation, or else you will give me that label.

There is no hope - I love this game, and it is done forever. Instead of letting people move on after the mourning period, there are a few that fight to drag on the pain and invent new ways to say something that can be perceived as a way to keep playing CoH. I wish people didn't have to be that acidic.

Well if they succeed, you're welcome to not come back and continue playing. Thanks!

Seriously, the way he's been sitting up in his ivory tower, passing down holy edicts that the game is doomed and others are fools to even think of trying to save it is really starting to push me into the Save CoH crowd. Hell, it's even making me think I might have been wrong about GG. Yeah, I think he's that bad. Eek.

And if they hurt themselves, that's all they've done. They are not attacking you or any of your ilk in any way (aside from maybe GG, and seriously, go nuts at her), but you see fit to demean them for their audacity to hold hope.

The only real difference between you and me (from an opinion standpoint at least) is that I don't feel the need to tell somebody they're stupid for attempting a project that I don't think will succeed. Even if it doesn't succeed to their current expectations, they'll gain experience which they can apply elsewhere in their careers and lives. And for some reason, you think that's a bad thing.

Unless I miss my guess and he actually IS the sort to do vanity searches on himself on these forums, I think we're pretty safe. He's settled in nicely in a few specific threads--and of course the Victory forum--so the odds of him coming here are pretty low.

Though if he DOES... it's your fault, dude.

Hey man, don't get crazy on us here. Opposite ends of a spectrum and all that. There's plenty of room for sensible people in the middle.

I felt it was an acceptable risk on my part.

Absolutely. Shackles are being wrapped around all community members as we speak so that they don't play other games.

What makes you think that anyone is treating the saving of CoH as a prophecy that has no alternative but to become a reality? That's not hope. If that were the case, it wouldn't even be called hope, because there'd be no need to hope for it. It would be a fact, and we'd all be laughing at you for daring to suggest otherwise.

99% of the community is somewhere in the middle. Some have moved onto other games. Some are still playing this one until the end. Others are working on Plan Z. Despite what most of the naysayers probably think of me, I stand somewhere in the vein of cautious enthusiasm.

The funny thing about all of this is, members of the "anti-SaveCoH campaign" are the ones going around stating opinions as fact. You say it WILL NOT BE SAVED, and all hope is pointless. But you have nothing on which to base those claims. Only speculation.

All I have been arguing for is the POSSIBILITY that it will be saved. What I have NOT done is go around telling anyone that it WILL be saved. That makes me the more reasonable one, because I admit that it might not get saved. And admitting it might not get saved, is much more reasonable than going around saying it definitely won't.

Holy cow, I actually have vague memories of watching that as a kid. No wonder I have messed up dreams.

That animation would have been done by Richard Williams, the animation direction who also worked on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also responsible for a plethora of commercials both in the United States and Europe. Check them out!

25 years to make.

Then viciously cut down by the distribution company, redubbed and the original cels thrown away.

Also, since so many animators worked on this over the year many elements showed up in Disney's Aladdin.

I'm sure you'll see Jafar's inspiration almost immediately.
