Yep, I got my Fire/Mental all slotted up on beta and have played around with him a bit. I was really surprised how much extra resistance I had added onto my build by accident, and the snipe/nuke changes are awesome.
Yes, I24 would have been awesome. Blaster lovers should at least spend some time on Beta playing around with the changes between Sustain, Fastsnipe, and the changes to the invention system.

I24 *IS AWESOME*. Come play it on Beta, it's great!
I neglected to mention, /Dark and /Ice also got a very nice recovery/regen buff along with the other sets. Pretty much EVERY blaster combination is much better than it used to be!
...you DO realise none of that is hitting live, right?
I can't even be bothered logging into the regular game for double exp weekend.
EDIT: And yes, I AM Bitter that my BR/NRG blaster wont become worth playing, making the 89 hour and 640 point expenditure a waste of time AND money. Can't even be bothered to spec him for trolling in PVP.

Yeah, i'm leaning towards playing Beta in November. I want to play new Skulls arcs etc, but I also want to team with friends/sgmates and play my current toons. So much game, so little time...

I downloaded the betaprogram but can you transfert a toon from a live server to the beta server ? and how ?
Can you respec it ?
You can copy (it's not a transfer, your character on live servers is unaffected) a character to beta here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/charactercopy.php
And yes, you can respec characters on beta. If you don't have any respecs saved, you can buy them from the market for 0 points.

The Beta server is the final version of the game that anyone will ever see - you will never have another chance, come play blasters on Beta!
- Respec tokens can be had free from the points store
- All IO sets can be had free from the points store (no farming required!)
- Incarnate slots and abilities do not have to be farmed up through repeated Trials (just pay inf basically, which you can copy over from live)
Your only motivation for doing stuff is PLAIN OLD FUN, of which there is still a month's worth to be had blasting the crap out of stuff. Are you nuts? Are you stupid?

I did this a couple of weeks ago. I24 is like playing Blasters on stupid-easy mode. Glad this game ended before breaking one of my favorite AT's.
Not only is the Martial secondary set great - a bit broken to be honest - but LOOK LOOK:
/Devices' Cloaking Device is now Field Operative, which grants a large buff to recovery and regeneration while also still granting stealth; and Targeting Drone easily enables instant-cast snipe 100% of the time!
/Electric's Lightning Clap is now Force of Thunder, which grants a large buff to recovery and regeneration in addition to its amusing knockback effect!
/Energy's Conserve Power is now Energize, a fairly large self heal click that also still applies a large endurance cost discount!
/Fire's stupid 'taunt aura' now gives very significant selfhealing per second and buffs recovery!
Add to this the many changes to IO sets (they got really free with smash/lethal resist), new story content, and that you have no reason to farm merits or money to obtain the good stuff (IOs are free from the Beta points market) - oh you're not VIP? That's okay, get an invention license from the points market and see what you were missing out on with all that IO stuff!
ARE YOU DUMB? ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! GET ON BETA!
