How many people fit in Atlas Park?

I wished that we were able to get all of the players who protested on every server but that...would of taken a long time.

I was told that Virtue and Freedom were Full and Infinity and Justice were pretty packed as well.

That's the final version, not the draft that was posted here earlier.
Dude.

Doooooood.

That is awesome. No, really, not the tired, overused version of that word. I mean it in the dictionary meaning of "inspiring awe".

I just shared that all over Facebook with links to this thread.

The composite video has semi-viral potential, I think - it'd look impressive to any gamer, even if they'd never played CoH.
The only change I'd suggest would be to use OminousVoice's version of the Atlas Park fanfare, as it carries a bit more pnuch than the in-game one.

Eh. While I agree with the "added punch" bit, as an actual player (as opposed to someone who has never seen the game), I think using the real in-game music is perfect. When I first played this game that music used to give me goosebumps.

Remember that this sequence was only recorded because Samuraiko wanted something like that for her video.

[Broadcast] Johanna Sinclair: you know, I really wish there were a way for me to merge demofiles
[Broadcast] Johanna Sinclair: without all the hassle of copy/paste
[Broadcast] Doctor Leo: merge how, 'chele?
[Broadcast] Johanna Sinclair: it'd be awesome to have like 500 people standing on the stairs
[Broadcast] Johanna Sinclair: 'layering' all the instances of AP at once
[Broadcast] Doctor Leo: you know I can do that :P

Her rendered version is going to be full 1920x1080 (my client crashed trying to render at that resolution) and probably will have a much more "punchy" soundtrack. I just posted this isolated scene so people could go through it carefully and find their character; the actual sequence plays 3 times faster.

Leandro - Samuraiko...I'm just blown away by what you've done here. The Virtue Vigil was one thing (or rather 33 things) but managing to combine that scattered presence into one shot like this?

Awesome, just awesome.

Just think about it - every single hero in that video has a story. Every one is the product of a creative mind, wanting to see a heroic idea come to life.

When Marvel killed off Captain America a few years ago, the media ran the story almost as an affront, as if part of our collective culture was being taken from us, like a dream was being killed.

There are THOUSANDS of dreams in that video, all refusing to be killed off.

Because you cannot kill a dream.

Comicbook companies know this, which is why they keep bringing heroes back to life after killing them off. Now we have to convince NCSoft that the same is true of our heroes, our dreams. And this video if a piece of PR genius - if a picture paints a thousand words, then a video like this paints a million.

I salute you!

Don't even ask me to find where it is. Because the placement is random every time I run the script, and because I made each entity name its ID so I could debug my script, I have absolutely no idea where any characters is, besides the four I placed manually. But every single one of them is there, somewhere.
ROFL I would never ask you to do such a thing. What you managed here was epic enough. And I'm proud to know that she's in there somewhere. [She, being my toon of course ]

Pretty sure I found my Mr. Science at 45-46 seconds in, black & blue tights(Metallic actually)/helmet on the far left, very close to the front. Love it.

This is just awesome.

Well honestly for us, multiple pans across the crowd at the same height off the ground so everyone can find themselves in that video. It doesn't have to be a continuous pan but several pan passes, including left-right and diagonal, the could be cut together to not only emphasize the shear size of this crowd but the variety of unique looks of each and every person there, a major strength of our character creator over other MMOs.

Samuraiko has the finished demo code, and I don't know what she plans to do with it. I'm not doing anything else with this giant crowd until her video is released; I already stepped on her toes enough, but I wanted this scene to be out on Unity Rally day to give something for the media to point at and go "that's how many people supported the rally".

Again, I greatly appreciate this, Leandro!! And I think that was a fantastic call, and job, to release it on the day/night of the rally. It was a perfect cap on it for myself. I'd spent most of the afternoon and evening in Atlas Park (I showed up early to have a looksee, and found so many others and... well, we all know what happened, hehe).
Watching the video afterward, with my wife (and fellow CoH player), was a treat and really made us feel good.
Thanks again, mate!

What you did was awesome Leandro.

This is just a case of Monday morning quarterbacking of someone who actually got off their butt and did something that was cool from someone who simply showed up but had the good fortune of getting a rather noticeable shot of me at the start of your video.

Was that Ascendant on the phone?

I think I saw someone I used to team with on Champion as well. Or at least someone who looked a lot like him. I kind of regret missing it, but there was a Champion server thing at the same time.

What she is using it for is part of the #SaveCoH video in the works for Titan Network. Thanks to the joys of job searching, parents not understanding that "I'm busy" means "I'm busy" not "I'm busy but feel free to bother me anyway", prepping for visiting in-laws, and trying to film other stuff, it's taking much longer than anticipated.

HA! Thanks for putting the winged characters in the air of the final-final version. Because my Virtue guy happens to be one of my few fliers, I finally found myself. Front left side, from about 1:30. A tiny orange-and-black lightning bug would never have been visible otherwise.

Too awesome. Any person not moved by that video has no soul.

Even if nothing else comes of it, that was a truly epic piece of work.

It would work really well as a victory video...

I am kicking myself in the head now for not putting everybody with Rocket Boots in the air, too. That would have given me 51 less people in the grounded crowds, which sorely needed the extra space.
