Wow. Just... wow.
I almost can't believe that it's been over 8 years, and I'm saddened that it will end this way.
The Guardian community has been *awesome*, and it's been both an honor and a privilege to be part of it. I've met a lot of fantastic people, some of whom have become very close friends. I feel like I know many of you, after talking to you regularly all these years.
Thank you members of Guardian for all the fun, the silliness, the memories, and all the cookies. (there's been a lot of all 4)

This game, this server, helped me through a lot of hard times growing up. I played off and on the past few years after being a long time subscriber but was recently ready to hop back on for good.
And now this.
Unstable Ion-Level 50 Kinetics/Radiation defender, Guardian.

I'm honestly shocked by the suddenness of this announcement.
Though I have characters on just about every server, the ones I had on Guardian were always my favorites thanks because of the great community this server has cultivated. My fondest memories of this game were always because of the fantastic people on this server. Running SpeEdens, winding up in a lowbie villains mish on a lvl 41 hero, or the shenanigans we got into in the Guardian global channel, you guys were the ones that made it AWESOME. if any of you want to contact me my steam name is gwj1018, and my XBL gamertag is g2xuj1018.

I have played on Guardian since the day the server opened and have met and fought beside some of the finest folk. I'm so deeply saddened by today's announcement. It hasn't sunk in that in just a short time it will all be over.

This saddens me beyond belief. The game and the people I've met through it mean so much. My characters seemed like members of my family.

Don't know if anyone remembers me or our Supergroup Evolution but Guardian was my server and for a good chunk of time my home away from home. I'm sorry to see it end like this. I'm still wondering how I'm going to leave my avatars behind, just gone into the digital ether.
It's not the way a superhero should go. Thanks for the memories Guardian.

Man, I've been through this once before when GameAmp (the best MMO website) shut down waaaay back when... and I was an Admin for City of Villains there! I have enjoyed playing, faceplanting, and arising victorious with all of you. Guardian IS family. Perhaps somehow they (or someone) can get a lone Server up for this game somehow, somewhere. Until then I intend to send this game off "the right way". Time to play!

Losing CoH is like losing a family member or leaving a close group of friends. While I've found ways to react to seeing close friend leave the game and still keep in contact and keep meaningful friendships, CoH is where it all started and I'm shocked at the sudden announcement. Like many, this would inevitably come around, just I expected more of a cushion and signs it was imminent. Too many good memories and friends to post them all here, but Guardian and the Guardian channel have been too good to me, as it has all of us, over these past 8 years. I'll be sad to see it go, but until the final day when the servers are closed for access, I'm gonna keep playing until they stop letting me.

This sure blows. Kind of hoping to hear about City of Heroes 2 before hearing the shut down, let alone the whole closure of Paragon Studios.
I still play Star Trek Online once and awhile (mostly around new content.) and once and awhile I post stuff on Twitter (@PLLaDeDa) and then there's Xbox Live, PSN, and Steam (PLLaDeDa for both as well, yeah, I'm that lazy.)
I was with the game for a great number of years and it sucks to see this great game and company to go. Atleast I have a good as reason as any to stick my head back into now.

While I know nothing last forever, the suddeness of NC pulling the pulling the plug on CoH, has left me more than a little numb.
This game, and Guardian in particular, has been like a family to me. No other game I have been in have I come across such a close knit community and I am going to miss everyone terribly.

CoH/Guardian was here for me exactly 8 years ago while I was dealing with my mom's pancreatic cancer and her last days in the hospital. [Today] (9/1) is the anniversary of her passing.
I said it before and I'll say it again: you are my family, as much as anyone can be online, and I thank you all for being there for me.

This makes me so very sad, I cannot even express it all. The game has been so many things to me throughout the years. And even though I have been a more off than on player the past 2-3 years, I always knew it was there and waiting for me. Now it's going away and I can't even go ingame to enjoy the last remaining time. (My computer died and I haven't had the funds to get it back up yet) So anyway.....thank you all for the countless hours of fun, frivolity and XP. I will miss everyone!
