I'd love to see this added to Mids, would you?

Is this like an aberrant behavior or something that I should feel weird about?
Lol, no. My first 3 1/2 years in the city was on a low end comp. I recently moved up to a med range comp that can handle windows AND the game client. But my habits are to consider IF the game is on, thats all I can have.

But if you have MiDs open, it is easy to keep an alt build (or alternate enhancer build) updated with your progress in game towards getting your build done. Cheers.

There are systems out there that can run the game, but not the game and Mids?

As someone who is near the same, if not worse boat altitis wise as you sound Rangle, I'd use the feature you recommended, as recommended, but it wouldn't me for me a MUST have addition. It would definitely help me out, though.

There actually is a "shopping list" feature... look under Window -> Recipe Viewer. It brings up a list of all your powers and the enhancements you slotted in them. It even shows a list of the salvage needed, the buying cost (crafting table cost for common IO recipes, and I would assume the vendor cost for DOs/SOs), and the crafting costs. You can see this for the whole build at once, or you can check just the powers you want to see that info for. You can then copy what you selected to an ingame helper window, or to the clipboard for pasting into a text file.

Unfortunately it doesn't allow you to check or uncheck just one slot at a time, it only works per power. It also doesn't retain check status if the file is closed... so you'd have to keep the file open the whole time if you want to track progress solely by that method.

However! This could* make it a much simpler request than previously believed, since it may* be just a matter of adding per-slot functionality and state retention to this feature, as opposed to creating a whole new feature.

* I am not a programmer, and know not of which I speak.

I for one would be more than happy to see a feature like you're suggesting... ripped out notebook pages and free-roaming post-its do not make for an "organized" system.

Oh yeah. My 3 or 4 year old laptop can run the game itself just fine, as long as I don't crank the graphics up too high anyway. It's the extra memory required to have both the operating system AND the game accessible at the same time, that starts to cause problems. One thing at a time? No trouble at all. Start tabbing around all over the place? At best it lags, at worst it crashes.

Speaking of alternate slotting, what's the keyboard shortcut you can use to flip to alternate for just one power? I used to have a whole list of Mids shortcuts on my other computer, but that machine's long gone and now I can't find that list anymore. It'd be downright awesome if anyone could point me to it.

Bolded for emphasis.

While Rangle's idea of some kind of highlight function would be a great visual, I'm more of a list person. I'm not really crazy about the way the current "build list" works. I like my lists simple.

The current "build list" divided out by power is... tedious for shopping purposes. A simpler list would lay out the enhancements alphabetically, with a check box next to each. If I need 3 health enchancies, there would be 3 listings for health with a check box next to each of them. A descriptive line of salvage needed would be bonus, or maybe even an alternate list for salvage shopping... dunno... just tossing ideas 'round.

Creating this function in a small popup window that you could optionally give "on top" status would be very useful while in game.

Saving the changing status of the list with the build would be key.

Oh lordy, you do not want to see what Rangle's desk looks like! lol

I'd also like a little "notes" field associated with each build where I could type a quick reminder to myself, such as "investigate dropping Aid Self" or "can replace Set X with the purple set if I get the money" or what have you. That might be too limited to hold all the info for the purpose outlined in the OP, however.

Yeah no doubt. While it can be useful, it's not what it could be. Hopefully a nice simple layouto like you suggested could be implemented at some point. I wouldn't ask right now, hehe... but in the future perhaps.

I would definitely like this feature as described. Would it be possible to allow the "alternate enhancements" feature to only work for individual enhancements within a power to accomplish something similar?

Create the build, Then Flip out the enhancements you already have to to their empty, "Alt" slots so that I would know to "only" get the enhancement still showing. Once I have collected the full set for the power, I would then flip to the "Alternate" option on the whole power, thus indicating I don't need to get any more I.Os for that power.

Wouldn't mind having this as a feature.

One thing that popped into my mind, not sure if it was mentioned earlier, but if you don't want to print your builds, what about using screenshots pasted into something like MS Paint? Just cross over the IOs you already have and overwrite the save.
