Hey guys, I'm looking for a secondary to pair with TW. I know some people have paired it with Elec, Fire, and WP. I have a Staff/Elec, a SS/Fire, and a SS/WP so I'm not looking to re-roll those secondaries. I'm looking for something that can handle a lot of aggro since TW has many AoE powers. I'm going to be doing a lot of herding. I'm not looking to farm with this toon but I will run countless iTrials. I've that TW is end heavy so I'm going to need a secondary that's light on endurance. I'm not a big spender so 500 mil is about the highest i will spend to IO this toon with.

Thanks for your answers and suggestions

Try Willpower. Very endurance light toggles, extra recovery, layered defenses.

Regen goes very well with it. It's light if not the lightest on endurance (only one toggle in the powerset) when paired with TW. And you dont need much IOs to survive. 500 Million is plenty.

Dark Armor. Yes, its endurance heavy, but it is so worth it. Dark Regeneration is the best heal in the game, and you have a smidgen of defense to start with, and stack Defensive Sweep with. Not to mention great resists, including ludicrously high resistance to psionic. Not to mention all the extra mitigation from the mez toggles.

If you can get your hands on a Theft of Essence (chance for +end) you can average a 20% end gain from ten targets, basically making Dark Regeneration free.

The blue bar will be an enemy to beat, but if you do the rewards will be astronomical.

Totally agree...but not on the cheap...

OP: If you want to see a TW/Dark build, there's another TW thread asking about an unlimited budget TW build and recommendations, I posted my personal build in that thread...you're welcome to look it over if you want to go Dark Armor. It is amazing...but costly to run effectively...especially mine that is min/maxed for damage and survival.

Be patient and wait for Bio. Build for recharge (use some A-merits for LotG's) and some +HP. I think if you're trying to keep it cheap, chasing defense numbers will be out, but with 60% global recharge and some added HP, you'll be doing pretty good. Again, A-Merits will keep that cost down and if you wait for Bio to come out, you'll have some time to save up 10 of them. Get five +5 recharge sets, that won't cost too much either.

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

oh right forgot about bio armor. If it makes it to live server the way it was a few days ago on beta, then it might be worth the wait for you.

I considered this but wouldn't the constant redraw be awful on TW?

There actually isn't really all that much redraw when your build is finished...you only use the clicks when you get into trouble...too many people make this out to be far worse than it actually is...and since fewer people play regen these days, the myth is self perpetuating due to ignorance/inexperience.

Do u mean end game with def? The regens i leveled up use heals alot because of aoe and the lack of decent res and def. I think the only time i didnt use heals was in maybe +0 missions. Though most people lvl +2 and +3. Aoe will tear you up.

Another vote for Titan Weapons/Willpower. It's a monster from the moment you step out of the tutorial to the moment you slot your last t4. However, since WP's off the table I'll throw my support behind /dark.

Dark has never appealed to me. I like the regen thought though. Can someone post a TW/Regen build for me please. So I can get an idea of what the set will look like.

This should softcap or be extremely close to S/L/E/N with one small purple...if you use enhancement boosters to boost both (one at +5 and the other unboosted might get you there, but I prefer to err on the side of caution) of the recharges in hasten to +5 you will be perma there. Dull Pain is permanent, Instant Healing is up 51% of the time and running all toggles you have 5.0 net end recovery counting the 3 perf shifter procs (4.4 net w/o the procs)...that should fuel TW with no issues whatsoever. Happy hunting.

Wow, that's a great build. Very nicely done, but that's not in my 500 mil range. I need a build that insider close to the 500 mil.

I played around on mids earlier and I can't seem to come with anything.

Planet J, thank you for the build but could you see what you could come up with that's way cheaper. I appreciate your time. I really suck at making builds. It took me almost a full year to get my SS/WP brute to a build that suited me.

Thank you again guys for your help.

Replace the Panacea with Doctored Wounds
Replace Armageddon with Oblvion
Replace Hecatomb with Crushing Impact
Lose the Pvp +3% for the moment.

It's around 500 million without the purples/pvp sets - with the heavy recharge already slotted the purples are getting you about 15% over the above oranges, which has minimal effect on the heal recharge rates. Especially since you'll rarely be using said heals.

Use alignment merits to get the luck of the gamblers when you can and voila - an affordable build that will give you a taste of what the pvp/purple one is capable of. If you like it, then you can work towards the monster final version. Grab the pvp +3% def first if you go that route.

The 3% Defense PVP IO is most certainly the most important of the pieces you'd lose...and you can get a level 50 one for about 200-300 mil right now...perhaps less if you have some enhancement converters lying around.

Without that, you'll be about 29-30% def to S/L/E/N which puts you close but not quite softcapped with a purple insp.

-E- I have a feeling once you've played it, you'll want to see what it can do with all the purples and such...

Yeah, I know I will. I'll probably end up building this toon the way your build is. But I just need something cheap ATM.

I do have a quick question though:

Can regen be sturdy with out building for defense?

If I was to maximize rech and damage then I could kill baddies before they have a chance to kill me.

To an extent. That extent being when Moment of Glory is up to take the alpha. Which it allows you to do because of all the defense it gives.

The higher you build your natural defenses the less you have to rely on moment of glory to survive alpha strikes and the less clicks you need to make to keep fighting. The less you're hit the more powerful your heals become - if it takes an enemy group 3 seconds to have you hit reconstruction your reconstruction is overshadowed. If it takes an enemy group 3 minutes to have you hit reconstruction your reconstruction is overpowered.

Maximizing recharge and damage to try and kill enemies first is a Stalker's game.

All the power sets have good survival end game. I just don't see the point of regen without a taunt aura, damage aura, +hit, +recharge or +damage buff.

I only noticed people rolled regen back in the day for pvp because everyone was the same lvl in pvp zones.

Just my thoughts on regen, dont want someone to hit 50 then regret it.

I know you do not want to reroll a WP brute, but I think it is a great set for TW. With Titan Weapon you have to maintain momentum and a regen is a very clicky powerset with MoG, IH, Recon and Dull Pain; however, WP is not. I like the toggle on and forget set so I can focus on my attack chain and not lose momentum.

Integration is the taunt aura..and it's stronger than willpowers taunt. In fact the taunt is as strong as invulnerable on a brute. Only Scrapper/stalker regen doesn't have it.

The only armor with +tohit. Is Inv. And there are only 3 sets with a damage aura...

Regen is strong. VERY strong.
