Armor activation times
At least I don't have to go through the 5 minute boot up sequence of my WP tanker each time I log in to them now.
Other than being a vestige of the one armor at a time era I don't see any "fun" reasons for the long activation times on normal defensive toggles.
Yeah, my DA tank laughs at your activation times. I spend almost 30 second toggling, 10 of those seconds are me rooted to the floor.
Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.
That's been bothering me for a while too. I've wanted to post about normalizing all toggle armor activation times across the board. I'm not sure if that's a balancing factor that the devs care about and that's not an argument I feel like having.
As long as it includes normalizing the Leadership toggle cast times as well I'm all for it.
I support this cause and would vote for a candidate including it as part of his platform.
FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.
I think everything in the Leadership pool are the worst offenders.
I think the best solution would be new tech that causes self rezzes to immediately toggle armor powers within the set.

This should not include offensive toggles.

This has been bothering me ALOT lately. I've always thought that should be a "Power up Button" on sets with toggles. Activating them all at the same time in a reasonable amount of time.

- To Each His Own
Instant cast times for non-offensive toggles would be awesome. Also, remembering non-offensive toggles for say, 20 seconds after defeat would be great.
Finally, I would be able to use an Awaken, get up, and NOT die instantly because my toggles would be up!

A great way to make it through a potential team wipe that was due to just a smidge too much DPS incoming and would give everyone a chance to recover without an annoyance run to the hopsital. The option would then be a tactical retreat to the hospital or mop up the leftovers with a minor blip in forward momentum.
My gripe for today - some defensive toggles take too long to activate.
I'm playing my level 50 Fire Brute, and tend to use Rise of the Phoenix rather proactively and frequently *cough*
Its great to have a self-rez that does damage and grants 15 seconds of immunity, but those 15 seconds get eaten up very quickly by reactivating my shields.
Fire Shield - 1.67s, the high end of acceptable
Plasma Shield - 3s of staring at the floor palms down doing nothing, required as my main mez protection.
Tough - 3.1s of unladylike chest thumping and howling
Weave - 0.67s, a quick bob and we're going.
Combat jumping - no activation time at all?
Add another 1.5s for Healing Flames and whatever for some inspiration gobbling (ornage and purple) and thats over ten seconds of standing there, often getting beaten on again if there are ranged enemies nearby.
The part that bugs me is that the animation times seem pretty much random, looking at Red Tomax.

Dark Armor has 1.17s for all defensive toggles.
Electric Armour gets a couple of 0.67s and a 1.17s for its main defence.
Some other sets get 3s clunkers: Invincibility, Integration, Evasion and Rise to the Challenge.
So three sets with a self-rez seem to get a 3s+ animation to turn on their main mez protection again (Regen, Fire, Willpower). I doubt this is by design, or there to serve any important balance issue.
It would be great if these could be normalised like the Tier 1 and 2 blasts were.
