Timeline of Events

Hey guys,

Is there somewhere I can find a timeline of recent events (First/Night Ward, DA, Praetoria, etc)? Normally, I'd refer to Paragon Wiki's Hero/Villain Story Arcs page but 1) that doesn't account for the new TFs, trials and such, and 2) it doesn't appear to be up to date (No Habashy/Twinshot stuff, or any of the solo Incarnate missions from DA). I'm a bit of a stickler for running things "in order".

Thanks.

Generally, the "timeline" follows the leveling progression. However, given that the Devs keep giving us lower level content that reflects "current" events, it's really hard to make an accurate summation.

For instance, the Admiral Sutter TF is level 20-40. That's a pretty wide range. It ALSO takes place "during" the I-trials, where the level 50 folk are taking down the BAF, Lambda complex, etc (leaving Primal Earth's defense in the hands of the level 20-40 folks). At the "same time", the Praetorian characters are either helping the Resistance or the Loyalists, but there's no sign of Cole's invasion or the Primal's attacks.

Also, Galaxy City is obviously an established area with a history and was "just" destroyed. However, a character will start there, go on the road to 50, and let's assume they're not power-leveled: Prometheus will refer to it as a "recent" event, even though it's been 50 levels and several months to several YEARS based on one's own personal cannon. This "recent" event takes place canonically before statesplate's death, even though everyone in the world now acts like he's dead. But then you do the SSAs and he's alive... until he dies. Which is... before? After? The level 50 arcs.

In other words, don't worry about it too much, it's a mess XD

As for the new stuff:

BAF
Lambda
Keyes
Underground
TPN
MoM
DA Arcs
DD trial
Magistrium

I actually saw a picture that shows the timeline pretty well, hang on let me find it.

EDIT: Here we go:

If ever there was a more appropriate combination of avatar and post content, I'd be amazed.... =P

My guess is it's roughly in chronological order of release. Here's my best stab at it:

  • All 1-20 content introduced since GR.
  • Rift enclosures. (Praetorians go to Primal earth.)
  • 20-29 tip missions, Drowning in Blood, Issue 17 & 19 arcs (Keith Nance/Jenni Adair/Roy Cooling; Dean MacArthur/Leonard/Vincent Ross).
  • 30-39 tip missions.
  • 40-50 tip missions.
  • The Instant Army (Tina Macintyre, new arc).
  • A Hero's Epic (Maria Jenkins, new arc; impossible to place post-retcon because Penelope Yin (as a member of the Freedom Phalanx), Battle Maiden, and Mother Mayhem are all in it.)
  • Power Overwhelming (Mender Ramiel).
  • Alpha Strike (Apex Task Force).
  • The Praetorian Offensive (Tin Mage Task Force).
  • The Sky Is Falling (Admiral Sutter Task Force).
  • Wizard's Weakness / The Fire and the Flames (Mortimer Kal Strike Force).
  • Behavioral Adjustment Facility trial.
  • Lambda Sector trial.
  • The first round of Praetorian invasions.
  • Keyes Island Reactor trial.
  • The second round of Praetorian invasions.
  • First Ward.
  • The Underground trial. (Statesman is still alive at this point.)
  • TPN Campus trial.
  • Night Ward. (At least starts before MoM; it makes no sense to free Katie from the Seer Network after dismantling it.)
  • Minds of Mayhem trial.
  • Who Will Die.
  • A Clamor for the People. (Penelope Yin Task Force.)
  • Pandora's Box. (Guess based on the presence of the Talons of Vengeance, who were severely weakened in Dark Astoria.)
  • Dark Astoria.
  • Dilemma Diabolique.
  • The Emperor's Sword. (Belladonna Vetrano.)
  • The Last Line of the Law. (Emperor Cole's personal story.)
  • The Magisterium trial.

A lot of those can slide around fairly easily, and some of the ongoing ones can stretch a bit.

Yeah I figured some things would look about like DarkGob's pic; wouldn't be a true comic book game if it didn't. But thanks for that rundown. Back when I23 dropped, I'd read that Night Ward took place after both First Ward and DA, but later read in another thread that NW was actually after FW, plus those two span 20-39 where DA is 50+.

I kinda just wanted to make sure I didn't run something that would spoil something else, since I'm about to start running the iTrials on my main.

Now, if a city of heroes 2 were ever to be developed, this would be good justification for implementing the phasing technology up front to help reflect this evolution of the storyline....also, an ability to select where in the timeline one would want to "start" (i.e., some might opt to start in galaxy city before it was destroyed, some in outbreak, some just pre statesman's death, etc.).
