"Received the Atlas Medallion Badge": Looking for Council Mobs
A Moonfire TF would be a good place to start. Level 23 is minimum.
Citadel TF is also decent. Level 25 minimum there.
-Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein.
-I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. - Galileo Galilei
-When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. - Thomas Jefferson
The Moonfire TF will get you a good fraction of the 200 you need (usually 80-100 of each per run, IIRC). Tobias Hansen's arc (level 25-29 contact) has several missions full of Vampyri, as well. You can find both wolves and vamps outdoors in the swampy part of Striga, although they may be a few levels too high for you yet, and the Vampyri only spawn at night.
I sometimes get these badges by accident just from running a bunch of regular Council missions while leveing up, but that usually happens at a much higher level (in the 30s or 40s) if I don't focus on it specifically.
Moonfire is -glorious- for this, get a full team for it. One mission is nothing but wolves, the next is nothing but vampires.
And yah, the swamp areas have lots of them, wolve by day, vampires by night, in large spawns.
Moonfire is more like 180 of each. A quick hunt in Striga afterwards will get you it ASAP.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
Moonfire is one of my fav TFs, in part because of this. And on a full team of 8, Bullets numbers are pretty close to the mark.
But, if you don't want to do a TF, or can't for some reason, just keep plugging through the Striga story arcs and you should end up being pretty close, as almost all the later Stiga arcs are council.
Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Moonfire sounds like the best best to do this quickly. I'm guessing soloing her TF isn't recommended.

But, no, I'd not recommend it. It's a fairly fast and fun enough TF that I don't find it's too tough to recruit at least the minimum number, and running it with others will be a lot more time efficient.
Well, you'd need fillers to launch it solo, I think minimum size is 6 if I recall correctly, but it might be 5. At lvl 23 the AV at the end might be pretty challenging solo, but if you're careful, the rest should be doable.

AV? You mean Archvillian? I was messing around with Hero Corps notoriety settings and told it I preferred to fight Archvillians and not have them drop down to Elite Bosses. Is that going to be a problem? Should I go back and set it to the default?
In a task force, the AVs always spawn as AVs, even if your personal settings say to spawn EBs instead.
If you just want to get it done, another option would be to team with a kindly lvl 50 so you'll get sidekicked up to 49. Then you can just go about Striga and slaughter wolves and vamps with relative ease. They wouldn't even have to be in the zone with you.

especially the mission to destroy the capsules - stand near one and you'll get your 200 vamps many times over if you really want them.
Mind of Gaia lvl 50 Defiant's first Mind/Storm 'troller.
Deadly Doc 50 Dark/Dark Corr
and lots more on Pinnacle,Union and Defiant
I used to go to Striga and beat on warwolves and vampyri in the swamps near the graveyard once I reached a level when they were gray. It was boring, it didn't provide any xp. But it was very boring, especially since vampyri only spawn at night, so I've stopped doing it.
Now I don't bother to go out of my way to get the badge. I find that if you do Council radio missions, you wind up getting the badge in short order, plus you get a lot of XP. It's probably easier to drum up a team to do radio missions than to get someone to commit to doing a TF, or even drag themselves all the way to Striga to do regular missions. And Council radio missions with warwolves and vampyri are available all the way from level 20 to 50.

As a note the Task Force AVs will always be AVs no matter what settings or team size you have.
I'd recommend it. While it is possible to solo an AV it generally requires a pretty high end build and/or specific powersets that can provide useful debuffs. I wouldn't recommend trying to solo any AVs unless you really know what you're doing.

Also, I have XP turned off right now to avoid leveling and I'm still getting badge credit for killing werwolves (why must they all spawn so high level?!). I've actually yet to see any vampires.
I think I'll try the radio missions. Thanks for the suggestions.

I ask this here because, if this is the case, then wouldn't being sidekicked up to 49 mean no XP from the mobs in Striga, and thus no defeat credit?
that sounds like a bug.
Relative level doesn't affect badge progress.

Does the fact that a mob is too low-level to give XP affect the counting here?
|
Now, sometimes there are exceptions, oddities, and bugs. For example, as I mention in this thread, the Failed Experiments in the Sutter TF don't count toward the Escapee Badge.
As a result, she's just hit level 11 after finishing off Kings Row and a good chunk of The Hollows, and managed to collect the "Kill Skuls" badge last night (defeat 500 Skulls). Her count was around 450 when I started last night, and I was checking her progress frequently. And she didn't seem to be getting credit for defeating Skulls who didn't grant XP (or who wouldn't have granted it if she'd had "Earn XP" enabled). That is, she was level 10, and her count would increase when she defeated Skulls levels 6-8, but not when the Skulls were level 5. |

At level 22, I would just run the Striga Island contacts. You will get lots of what you are looking for plus some pretty nifty temp powers upon completion of the arcs. The Wedding Ring for one. Talk to Stephanie Peebles to start the arcs.

Do those count? They're not standard Vamps, IIRC (no xp, might be no badge credit as well)
|
No. Level has no effect on defeat badge progress. You can be +49 to the enemies and get kill credit.

Hello, there:
I'm trying to get this accolade for the endurance boost, and wondered what the best/fastest way was to kill 200 each of Warwolves and Vampires. I'm level 22 right now, and I've yet to find any of these creatures either (1) in large number; or (2) not yellow, red, or purple.
About how long would you expect killing 200 of each of these mobs to take?
I would appreciate any suggestions. I've done all the exploration and history badges for this accolade. I've turned off gaining experience for now but I'm seriously considering turning it back on until I'm at least level 25. That should keep me from out-leveling anything in Talos, Striga, or Independence.
