Master of Magisterium (6-30 @ 9PM EDT)

This Saturday at 9 PM EDT I will be hosting an attempt at the Master of Magisterium badges. The attempt will be by sign up here so let me know if you want in. More information will be posted as the trial shapes up.

OK, now that the post is up and we are getting responses and people, I will add some details to the plan. Saturday night we will probably do 2-3 runs of Magisterium. We will focus on different badges each time to help solidify the chances of receiving them. The first run will be practice. We will aim for badges, but the main goal is to have the league practice on Tyrant/getting out of the way of the flow lightning. First off!


Requirements and other considerations:
Please be 50+3
I would like it if you would have Hybrid unlocked and slotted.
Please get at least six Ultimate inspirations. (We will not use these on the practice run)
Team inspirations are encouraged if you have them.

Here is a breakdown of our current strategy:

For the first phase we will try to defeat 250 IDF as quickly as possible. Everyone proceed to the area in between the barricades and
cars, at which point Tanks (and anyone with taunt) will herd as many IDF as they can to the main group.

For phase two we will split into three teams and each team will take one of the AVs. The team leaders will be responsible for calling out
the percentage of life left. If your team leader says stop, please stop attacking. Pendragon’s Absorption and Chimera’s Teleportation can cause difficulties, so be aware.

For phase three things get a little simpler. We beat down Black Swan. If she spawns a portal, close it.

The last phase is slightly more difficult. Our first time through will be a good practice run. Main goal here is when the air crackles, leave
melee range. As soon as the flow lightning hits, jump back in. Lore pets should be available twice in the battle if we summon them right
off. For the first time through we will use the Quills to take the lights.

Second time through it will get hard. We will NOT attack the lights. Do not use the quills. Here is where we will use Ultimate inspirations
to level shift through the fight. If you have team inspirations, please use them as well. I will try to have some team inspirations on each team. If it looks like we are not going to succeed without using the lights, I will take them out. No one else is to attack the lights.

Sign me up. Ironblade is 50+3 and has Hybrid at tier 4. I have a ton of Ultimates. Been burning through them trying to get The Really Hard Way badge.

The badge for not letting Black Swan have 6 portals up at once (Shadow Master) is EASY. Got it without even trying or thinking about it. Don't plan on a run for this badge. You'll get it without trying.

The badge for wiping everything but Tyrant within 8 minutes (Ready to Rumble) isn't too hard. As I recall, we failed it once while learning the trial, then did it in 6-1/2 minutes on the second try.

The badge for killing the 3 AV's within 5 seconds (Triple Threat) is harder, mainly due to Nega Pendragon's shield (i.e. the new Absorption mechanic). I'd say there's a strong likelihood of not getting this on the first attempt.

I don't have the badge for taking out Tyrant using 12 Lights or less (The Hard Way). This badge was made much harder by the fact that the Lights were massively bugged and only affecting 16 random targets instead of EVERYONE. This was fixed in Tuesdays patch. This is the only badge you should need the Ultimate inspirations for.

On any run that you're NOT going for The Hard Way badge, I can bring someone else. I have 9 other toons at 50+3.

Anybody get a successful response to the "Ready to Rumble" petitions?

(For those who weren't there: We successfully defeated Black Swan within 8 mins. Then, in the last phase, we defeated buffed Tyrant, but debuffed Tyrant never spawned. Therefore we essentially failed the trial. However, we were awarded the Hard Way badge [iirc, we were awarded that badge right when we defeated buffed Tyrant.] But we did not get Ready to Rumble.)

I just heard about my petition. We apparently did not beat Black Swan in time. They said we beat her in 8 minutes 10 seconds. I do not agree, but if that is the case, that's the case. Due to all the bugs I think I'll be running this again soon. If anyone has a different experience, post it please.

I wonder if the GM looked at the right run. The one we all crashed in after beating Pendragon, yeah, I can believe we didn't beat Black Swan in time. But the one in which Charlie Brown Tyrant did not appear: we didn't crash in that one and think - but won't swear in court - that we did beat her in time.
