-kb proc in Force Bolt
I must be out of the loop. When did(will) this IO come out? Is it a new set or something?
Too many alts to list.
It should be out tomorrow as one of the rewards for the Summer event.

Hmm. It seems like it would turn Force Bolt into a single target Jolting Chain.
LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

For an Ill/FF I would put that piece in Phantasm.
You can control when you use Force Bolt. Phantasm is an idiot about when he uses Energy Torrent.

I kind of like force bolt the way it is. I've recently been playing my FF/DP defender with hopes of respeccing her soon, and I find it useful to send a foe who peels off the tank's herd and comes after me right back into the AoE area around the tank that everyone else is targeting. But to each their own.
And here I was enhancing the KB in my Force Bolt. If I'm hitting something with that, I want to knock them out of threat range for just a bit.

The economy is not broken. The players are
The point is that they aren't changing the power. It's a proc. If you like Force Bolt as is, slot it as you normally would. If you'd prefer to keep knocking something down without flinging it all over the place, now you'll have that option, too.
I'm sure it's been stated, but my big question is.... Is that proc a unique? Or can it be slotted in multiple powers?

Honestly...if i were going to slot the -kb proc into something...it'd be something that's AoE...like Explosive Blast (or whatever that power's called). I'm not really concerned with the ST kb attacks. In fact...some of them i'd PREFER to be kb instead of kd. It's the AoE stuff that gets a bit aggrivating to me (and most others, too).

That'll do, pig. That'll do.

Mostly, I'd agree with you. I'd put it in an AOE, too. Or a persistent ST attack. Tornado comes to mind. I think it's an AOE but it seems to mostly home in on one target, so I might put it in there to keep it more aggressively stuck to one target, as opposed to having it fling something out of the way then re-targeting..

I definitely plan to do that right after I get one in Tornado on all my stormies.
Edit: If only it wasn't Unique, I'd SO be running off to make a Fire/Storm troller right now...
I wonder if this would make it worthwhile to run with Repel on a Kin.
EDIT: Nevermind.... I forgot it had to do damage. We need a generic kb to kd for this and Wormhole.

I talked about this in the Controller thread which you were part of, but Repel and Repulsion Fiekd in Force Field used to be capable of bouncing enemies in place if an enemy exceeded you in level. They were both specifically flagged by the developers as exceptions to the purple patch to prevent this from happening. This makes the situation with Bonfire becoming the premier knockdown patch (100% chance every 2 seconds as opposed to roughly 57% in Ice Slick and 51% in Earthquake as explained in that thread) really intriguing, if "did you test this?" is a synonym for "intriguing."

The IO's interaction with Bonfire frankly makes the long discussions and give-and-take in the recent Gravity feedback thread farcical. Like I said over in the Controller thread, the devs have a hard job and I respect them, but all the time spent balancing powersets seems realy pointless to me if they are just going to go "whatever" when creating IOs.
I'm looking forward to dropping the -KB IO into Force Bolt in my Ill/FF. Force Bolt already provides helpful, though situational, soft control. But with Force Bolt doing knockdown instead of knockback, it may become my go-to single target control power for most bosses.
