I've entered and super excited!
This is a really cool premise for a contest. I've entered, and I'm really excited to see how this turns out.

Whoo hoo Applied & am so Excited, even if I don't get picked! The Bases on a Budget contest was fun & this one promises to be intrguing!

I think the requests for pix is to help gauge what category you might fall into. If they state up front that no experience is required, then you can be sure that rookies can safely enter and can well be expected to have the same sort of chance at getting in that a pro would.
From what I have seen in the past, P.E.R.C runs things clean and fairly, and doesn't simply pick the best entrants they get. Everyone has a shot.
This of course is all just my observation. Someone from P.E.R.C. will hopefully clarify the point soon. In the meantime, don't hesitate to enter out of fear you may not be good enough or because you don't have pix to show.
I entered the contest, and I didn't attach pix. I'm not worried that this will hurt my chances at all. I think (hope) I have just as good a shot at getting picked as you or anyone else does.

I will clarify this point. Basically we are looking at a number of different things for potential contestants. First and most importantly is enthusiasm and desire to enter and participate in the contest. The creativity of answers and a clear passion for base editing or a passion for trying something new are key here. We also realize that not everyone is as good at expressing themselves through writing and may prefer to link to selected pictures to show their love for base design. We do ask about previous work or "why a contestant feels he/she should be chosen" because we want to make sure we get a variety of people: some very experienced, some moderate, and indeed some that have little to no experience.
In our last base contest "Design Challenge - Bases on a Budget" we had at least 5 contestants who had never tried base building before. They were very excited to try out a new portion of the game and it was a lot of fun to see their bases! One of them even won an Honorable Mention and one received a Judge's Recognition.
In the next base contest we will make sure to stress the point that passion and desire to enter are indeed the most important factors.

I would up doing much better than I expected to in the last P.E.R.C. contest - maybe you will too.
Plus I wound up meeting lots of great folks in the base community and got to tour some amazing bases; that by itself was worth it.

I was
Day 1: all I could do for the first day was organize the items then shift and organize again, then went to bed lol
Day 2: shift and organize, then organize and shift then went to play another toon for a bit lol
Day 3: thought i deleted something only to panic and realize i just moved it to the entranceway for room lol
If your gonna play follow the leader just make sure the leader is taking you where you want to go.

Awesome! This is more or less my standard object selection! Except for all those stairs, and the books.. and those three tech pillars, and what about those big electron thingies and how many barrels?
Okay, maybe this isn't exactly my first choice of objects
