Good luck with both getting the armor via petition (I agree you should be able to get it) and with hearing a success story, tho I don't expect many people if any tried to get it at the last minute. I think it's far more likely that they decided that they could wait for the devs to release it later like they promised. It's not going away permanently.
If they deny the /petition, I'd ask (politely) that it be escalated to a senior GM and send a PM to the members of the OCR team (Z, Freitag, HitStreak) and ask that they assist with getting it corrected.
You can get the exact spelling of their names from the Community Digest page.

Any time a GM kicks you up to a supervisor type GM, you get the escalation notice.
When someone human looks at it, and has the ability to deal with it, you get the "Investigation" notice. IN my experience.

I also sent a petition on Thursday. It's now monday and the token has yet be applied. I'm guessing the support staff have had several hundred of these petitions and are working their way through them. Be patient, if it's not done by wednesday, then it may be appropriate to enquire on the status of your petition.

Hold tight, as long as you have the initial petition before the 5th and are eligable for T9 rewards by then you should be good. I just got an e-mail from the staff saying that it's been unlocked for me. They must have had a lot of people that had waited to get it and didn't make it in time.

mine showed up last night (june 4).I had to wait a few days and was getting worried, but it happened.
I put my request in on Sunday and have it now.
