Seriously, what's with the red color ?
This looks better like this:

We could start a friendly contest:
Create a doctor/companion/monster and take a screenshot with the police box.

No, no, you see, In CoH, Optimus Prime is blue and runs the black market, while the TARDIS is red. It's like one of those bizarro worlds where stop signs are green.

Maybe it's a Glasgow police box! Those were red, if I recall

(seriously, the BBC trademarked the image, so it's in ye olde intereste of not getting sued)

You're right, I forgot about that, I believe there was a problem between BBC and the Police at some point, about this trademark.

Actually I used to pass one in Glasgow. It was the classic blue.

BBC tried to trademark it.

They got slapped down.

You would think so, but according to Wikipedia it actually worked.

In 2002 the Patent Office ruled in favour of the BBC, pointing out that there was no evidence that the Metropolitan Police—or any other police force—had ever registered the image as a trademark. In addition, the BBC had been selling merchandise based on the image for over three decades without complaint by the police.

Correct.

Remember, a trademark doesn't necessarily mean 'we are the originator & owner of this design/word/whatever.' It means "we want to use this likeness in a specific field of business to represent ourselves."

The police had never registered the police box in a way to indicate they believed it was their exclusive likeness in any field and had allowed toys, signage, and other media to be adorned with it long before anyone thought to register it as a trademark, so their objections weren't that strong.

I'd forgotten all about that. I need to go track it down and take some screen shots for my desktop at work or something - that's in Night Ward, right?

Yes, except it's red.

On a related note, on reading up on the article, I realized that the Police Precincts in Paragon seem almost more like Japanese Koban style police 'boxes'. (which are indeed, not boxes at all except in the vaguest sense)
