Suggestions & Ideas: Where Both Come to Die
omgomgomgomg! can u lok at tihs thread and this ad this?
(See how annoying that would be? Now imagine that happening every time somebody posted. That's what happens to the devs around here.)

Open Archetype Suggestion thread!, Kirsten's Epic Weapon Pools, Feudal Japan, Etc., Alignment specific Rularuu iTrials!
If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
It now occurs to me that Arbiter Warrant never specifically said he read the forums more than he posted.

Another problem with posting in a thread that proposes some kind of change: once the devs do that many players will adopt the belief that the proposal will be developed in some fashion in the game. Simply saying "that's a neat idea" is the equivalent for many readers to pre-announcing the feature and, if the devs decide not to do it, almost guarantees a "What ever happened to this suggestion" thread later on.

Never underestimate players ability to take what the devs actually say and twist it to their own unrealistic interpretation.

This.
having seen many notions from this forum work their way into the game over the years, I must disagree with the OP's thesis.
But that didn't stop the thread title from giving me a morning chuckle. =D |
I give the dev team credit they can't give us everything we want, but they sure do try to please the players.
There are some things I wish they would add and have posted in this section, such as a Sports Pack and more Targeted AoE recipes, but they have a better over all vision of the game and are privy to things the player base isn't.
Overall they have done an excellent job in implementing player ideas, both in forum and IRL.
Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

I strongly suggest that you add them... or PM me what they were then so they can be included!
(Curiously, Elusivity is not listed on the Paragonwiki list of player suggested features. Actually, I don't see any of mine there at all, except for Martial Arts which wasn't unique to me.)

Actually, a dev posting that something is "a neat idea" pretty much guarantees that if it isn't implemented someone will start a thread with the premise of "The devs said we would get this! THEY LIED TO US!"

I just added to ParagonWiki my big non-beta suggestion that got implemented...that all auras having a combat-activated option. I also still have the PMs from Noble Savage to prove it was my suggestion that was implemented to any Doubting Thomases...
I strongly suggest that you add them... or PM me what they were then so they can be included!

...and it is still SO COOL - I use combat-activated auras on almost all of my characters!

Elusivity (as a game mechanic) is definitely mine. Making the defense procs non-unique - particularly LotG - is definitely mine. The Issue 7 critter accuracy changes are likely mine. Oh, and making invention reward drop floating text messages color coded by rarity is actually mine (and I was amazed no one suggested it before me).
I strongly suggest that you add them... or PM me what they were then so they can be included!

Both Elusivity and the critter accuracy changes made at least one appearance in S&I at some point before implementation, although neither was introduced there (defense procs and reward text occurred in I9 beta).
Also, I'm not sure if it should count, but when BaB first posted that power customization with the current engine would probably take more work than it was worth, I posted a public reply that said while I couldn't speak for the time it took to modify art resources, the mechanics of customization could be done by doing X, Y, and Z. Although my terminology was messed up, X, Y, and Z are exactly how power customization work today**, and BaB did give me public credit for having mentioned it long before it was actually implemented.
** Today, I would describe X, Y, and Z as creating a mode that indexes one of a set of VFX files that contain alternate effects for the power, and also sets an animation bit that activates higher priority animation sequences. X, Y, and Z were modes, VFX arrays, and optional sequence bits, in that order.

It should also be noted that nearly every new powerset since Freedom has been at least very very similar to something mentioned in Suggestions and Ideas, although in some cases also elsewhere, since they have seemed to be focusing on the most asked for stuff first. The extra travel pool powers are also remarkably similar to ones first suggestion in a thread on the subject here. Long distance teleport was actually an idea brought up there, although others may have suggested the same things first.
