Then there's that whole having to deal with other living people thing.
Your siege defense tactics for starters. You are relying on weapons that can do a lot more damage to the user than to the target, especially to the unprepared and amateur, weapons that also have their basis in large part, on causing fear and pain to the target. You're trying to use traditional defensive means to fight a non-traditional enemy.

The best defense is being prepared for the 'Worst Case Scenario'; avoiding being outnumbered and possibly overrun in a position that's difficult to escape from or defend with limited weaponry, assistance, rations, supplies and/or knowledge.
So instead you're advocating items and tactics that are difficult, if not impossible to get? As well as being more hazardous to the user and his surroundings than to the enemy?

No plan survives contact with the enemy. You cannot be prepared for all contingencies.

There's just too much going on to rely on going solo with a machete/crowbar, ninja skills and Max Brooks. (Especially if we're talking 'Return of the Living Dead' zombie types )

lol, debating zombie apocalypse tactics.
No one said anything about being solo. Small groups work best, with there being an equal mix of male/female, preferably married if possible, no children.

GREAT!!!! i'll come with you, and bring my machetes. Yogi can't come, he'll be in a tank, with a fire pit on top, whittling arrows.....

Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.

I think we can postpone the zombie apocalypse warnings for awhile.

two things:
first, there can't be a "new version of LSD", LSD = lysergic acid diethylamide, so it's either lsd or not. at best it's a horrible facimile, that apparently makes you strip naked and eat peoples faces. there can be some bad side effects from lsd, but i don't think face eating is one of them.

second, i think discounting the initial cause of the zombie apocalypse as designer drugs in bath salts as an impossibility is a mistake, sounds very plausible to me.

third, (i know i said two things, but just deal), because you seem to be trying to suppress the truth about the end times, you will not be allowed to borrow any of my machetes!

Thanks for the update. Well it's a good thing that I've been working out and sparring. Let me know if you guys want me to tag along but I will warn you I will not be the hero...I've seen plenty of horror movies and I very well know that Zombies find Dark meat to be very tasty. *BURP*

awwwww, come on, we can call you Tater "token" Todd.
actually, i've always wanted to test that theory, by screwing with the monsters/bad guys, i say we get 5 or 6 black guys, baddies will have no idea who to kill first, all the good guys escape while the baddies wander around confused or argue over who gets it first. it's a good plan!

Tell me about it.

Looking into what it would take to up the amps on a typical stun baton/cattle prod to make it 'lethal'. 1amp to kill a normal human; ?amps to off a shambler with a prod to the face?

Sounds like the Ol' South Park the movie play! :P

I agree though I always wanted to test that theory as well. Maybe if you get a black guy who is immune and also gifted with high regeneration lol. The perfect Tanker!

What about vinegar or lemon juice super soakers? Getting Lemon Juice on an cut is BRUTAL and zombies have plenty of open wounds no? It might backfire though...I might as well Taunt them by wearing a Steak Necklace.

Not necessarily, T-Dogg is going into his 3rd season on The Walking Dead.

Switch the insecticide in a crop-duster to a propellant then dust-n-burn? Low tech carpet bombing.

T-Dogg is a joke...a fluke lol. He's just there to keep the suspense up because we all know that he should of been dead by now according to horror movie law :P

Ok, Yogi?

You're not Frank West. You haven't covered wars, you know.

So how long until we have more zombies than living? I have a plan but no supplies yet and still havent figured out who exactly of the people i know would be reliable and not just extra weight.

"Extra weight" can be useful in certain situations. Such as needing a distraction for the zombies so the useful people can get away. Just be sure to give the extra weight a liberal dousing with steak sau...err...zombie repellent.

Infection would be quick during the first few days as people will assume "zombies" are just a news invention/hoax. The sheep won't recognize it till it's far too late. It'll probably be along the lines of an exponential curve that'll reach a plateau eventually. It also depends upon the countermeasures used and whether or not countries can keep their borders closed. Obviously, places like Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa are boned. New Zealand, Hawaii, Australia, Japan, some of the Phillipines might hold out longer if they can cut off incoming flights and freighters. However, that'll only last till the drifters and the ocean-walkers reach their shores.

Me, I'm headin' to the Caribbean if it happens. Get a boat, load it up with fishing gear, seeds, some tools, basic medical gear, books, solar charger for my mp3 player, and some barbed wire. Find me a nice little island with a sheltered cove to store the boat, set up a barrier fence on the beach to keep out the ocean-walkers and any potential pirates. Build a nice little shelter, plant some crops, and ride out the apocalypse in paradise.

We're thinking similar.
