Hello there, I'd like some help. I recently moved from Vigilance to Virtue. Concerning the new base of our SG, i'd like to built a X-Men's Cerebro like room. Problem is that I don't know which item could be used to create a spherical room with a pedestal in the center, giving a good feeling of heights.
I'd really appreciate your help.
Thank you in advance for your answers

Example : here

Les virtuoses de la Cyberlgion !
Atmox : Corruptor Rad/rad lvl 50.

you could simply use tables for the walkway, but IDK HTF you're going to make a round room!

You could use the "Ramp" stairs for the lower/upper curves of the room. You'd be viewing them from the interior, so the intersecting areas would be less visible.

It's not going to be a true sphere, obviously, but probably as close as you can get it.

Best of luck with this... would love to see it if it becomes a reality.

Ok thanks, should I use "Grated ramp" to obtain a better result ?

Not sure of the name, but that's probably the one. I know there's a newer looking "tech" ramp item, and an older looking ramp. Either might work.

You'd have to use a whole bunch of desks. It wouldn't be perfectly smooth, but it'd work since it'd be big enough.

It'd be smooth widthwise, but heightwise, it'd be blocky, since we still don't have x axis rotation.

You could try it with the (off) florescent light fixture (the narrow one). It would take scads of them, but since they are one "click" tall instead of a desk's 3-4 "clicks" tall, it would give greater controll over the Z-axis curveature of the room.

I tried my hand at it...

In general, I'm not that pleased with the outcome. I may try to make a stairway leading to the platform, to center it in the room more. I don't know. The tech ramps alone don't really smooth out the room, light fixtures or desks would be worth trying, if you have the time.

Don't really have the time to build an example, but this would be my thought process...

Since we can now angle items by increments, I would start with a basic circle of ramps, instead of just lining the room edges....

Start with a tight circle on the lowest level, go up a "ramp level" and make another wider circle, go up another level, make a wider circle...
Make one level a transition level, with flat wall items... cabinets, maybe.
Next set of levels, turn the ramps around so the backsides show, leaning inward.
Make each circle level smaller, going to the top.
Build your floating bridge to the middle of the room.

In general, this is what we're aiming for, yes?

Hmmm...

Perhaps if you split it into two rooms, so that you can place the door/ramp at the appropriate height so as to center it in the middle of the room.

I'm not following how this could be split between two rooms, what with the '1x1 doorway' that must be between all rooms.

Given the limited maximum height inside a base, I think that would limit a spherical structure to a 3x3 footprint, or maybe a little smaller.

Simple. Take a room bigger than what you actually need, and make a faux wall (out of cabinets, or whatever) in between the entrance of the room and the rest of it. Then, you can make the opening in the fake wall halfway been the floor and ceiling.

Dude! That's sweet, i might have to do something like this now. My SG Mate would love something like this for our base.

Nice work! If you're ever up for the challenge of a more "sphere like" room, I would suggest using the Large Dome (under Arcane) as a guide for where to place things. It helped me create a circle shaped room.

Ah. When you said "split it into two rooms", I was thinking you were saying to spread the "Cerebro Room" across two physical rooms. I misunderstood your meaning.
