Trick Arrow without the Bow

I love the Trick Arrow set, but sometimes the bow just does not fit in with my character concept.

I wish we had some alternative delivery system for the effects.

Possible alternative animations:

Deck of cards-- throw a card, the effect applies on impact.

Grenades-- already have the animations for this

Flying disc--already have the animations for this.

How about an atlatl?


I used to fiddle with my back feet music for a black onyx. My entire room absorbed every echo. The music was . . . thud like. The music was . . . thud like. I usually played such things as rough-neck and thug. Opaque melodies that would bug most people. Music from the other side of the fence.

Awesome idea, I love the visual appeal. But a real atlatl set should include a few melee attacks with the atlatl as a club! Would make for an awesome barbarian themed toon.

As to the OP, I completely agree Trick Arrow needs some alternate animations and those are great suggestions.

I would like to include Baseball Bat with (Trick) Ball to your list.

ive actually advocated the idea of making a trick arrow set that functions with the rifle model so AR users wouldnt have to deal with the redraw but have the same functionality

i am also in the group that would prefer using a gun over a bow with trick arrow since we already have several existing models for gun using TA powers such as the glue grenade from PPD equalizers and the emp grenade from longbow spec ops and the disruption grenade from the longbow nullifiers

I'd settle for just using the throw animation we have for taser/mutagen/throwing knife/etc. with the effect afterwards. Same range as those even. Be great for Batman/gadgets type toons.

They should do this with every power.

Fire from a Flamethrower gun.

Energy from a Ray gun

Arcane Traps instead of Tech Traps. EG creepy spikey bugs instead of caltrops. Arcane Glyphs that explode instead of time bombs.

Lighting from a wand or staff..

I'd rather have the current ranges from those powers. The others are too close, and Batman seemed to have pretty good range on his gadgets.

Id like something simple like a crossbow.


Rockshock (Druid Tanker), Medicat (Combat Medic), Dwarf From the North (Ice Mage), Rocket Gal (Energy Blaster), Graveborn (Undead Mastermind), Streeker (Punching Speedster), Op. Sidewinder (Recluse's pet Spider)

A deck of cards? I mean, that'd be great and all. But if marketing really wanted me to spend money, they'd save the card theme for a melee secondary (somehow) or an epic power pool. So that I'd have a reason to buy Staff Fighting. And the card set, wherever it goes. So that I could play Staff/Cards. No reason.

Maybe they should make another Class -- Melee Primary with Support secondary.

well we already have the nemesis staff which is a decent dmg ranged attack. just new ranged attacks for sale that throws various objects, like knives, cards, rocks, cars, bodies etc etc with the same numbers as the staff

That's another idea. I'd rather have the option to get the effects of Trick Arrow without the bow animation which reallyd doesn't go well with say... assault rifle, dual pistols, etc.
