Assassin Strike delay?
I've only noticed it on Staff, but it is isn't every time. Sometimes the damage effect goes off right away, other times there is a delay and other mobs become aware of your presence before the damage finally goes through.
Don't I know you???
AFAIK it's a staff bug since beta.
Ok, so I am not the only one noticing this. I did beta test Staff but I was only lvl 7 at the time and I didn't notice such delay. Oh well.. no biggie. It's only mildly annoying.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I think it either used to or still happens with Dual Blades as well, and may happen with other sets. When I was playing a DB Stalker I'd have mobs hit me as the from-hidden Assassin's Blades was going off before the damage was dealt. I deleted her a while back and haven't read any complaints about it recently, so I'm guessing it was fixed for that set.
I think the issue is that the delay on mobs noticing you isn't offset by the draw time if the weapon isn't already out, so there's an overlap from when the mob notices that you're attacking and your damage is dealt that lets you get hit. I haven't analyzed it a great deal, though.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Its not just with the assassin strike. Alot of the staff effects have a delay....long enough that i can sometimes do 2 more attacks and jump away before the starter attack does anything.
I have not seen this happen on any of the other stalker sets either.
Getting a weird 2 second delay is just plain odd looking and makes it difficult to play at times....because sometimes you miss but dont know that for number of seconds....other times you hit....but you dont realize you have killed the target...thus end up wasting attacks you didnt need to use.
Also if no one noticed the staff attacks sometimes use more energy then their listed value, not sure why they do that either.
I've noticed it in the past with Kinetic Melee...and for non-melee attacks Beam Rifle.
It might be a case of the attack sets that have special mechanics, such as applying buff stacks or checking buff stacks or disintegration tagging, and so forth running thru detection logic that slows the damage resolution.
I'll try to pay more attention to Street Justice, Dual Blades, Titan Weapon, and so forth suffer from similar issues.
Assassin's Staff's damage delay only happens during Hide. Guess it's because of the lack of the weapon-draw animation.
Either case, SOMEONE FIX IT. Please?
I've noticed this happens when you activate AS without the staff already drawn, if the staff is already in hand prior to activation of AS (as in following BU) then you dont get the hit delay.

Sounds like a programming oversight leading to a reproduceable bug.
This tiny delay has caused Guile proc not to fire off immediately. If I que up an attack right away and it starts before Assassinated appears, the "hidden" proc may not appear. I know this has happened to me a few times. So now, I have to wait until Assassinated appears and then use another attack. Kinda annoying.

So I finally have time to play my new Staff/Elec tonight. I heard about the delay bug but wasn't sure if it's just text delay or lag. Well, there is definitely a delay when I use Assassin Staff from hidden. One time I even get hit right before the enemy dies, so it's not just a delay in text Assassinated.
Do other sets have delay too or it's just Staff?
