Time Travel - CoH History

With all the time traveling and alternate dimensions and such going on, I would love to be able to do Ouroboros (or other) missions that would take us back to all the events that happened before we started playing.

I wanna fight alongside Atlas in IP and try (and fail) to save him.

I want to see Galaxy Girl as a character, being a hero, saving lives.

The first Rikti War. Where Sister Pyche was hurt and all the heroes fought to repel them.

I'd LOVE to be a member of Hero 1's Omega Team. To see what happened, before and after they entered the portal.

I want to take part in the first battle the original Freedom Phalanx fought.

Villains could watch Lord Recluse take his first sip of the well of the furies and later form Arachnos.

They could play the fateful events that led to Ghost Widow losing her life.

There is just so much awesome stuff in the history just waiting for us to be able to see, experience, and partake in. And maybe....just maybe.... thanks to the whole phasing thing where our actions make a difference, maybe we could actually change the outcome of one of these. Save one of the heroes....

Definitely. It'd be cool to do a mission set in the 1930s (guessing) when Paragon City Hall was under construction. No skyscrapers, lots of green space, older cars parked where the Atlas statue now stands. (It probably wasn't built until the late 1940s at the earliest.) We'd also get to find out what Atlas Park was named before Atlas died fighting Nazis in 1941. I can see a sort of Back to the Future-type thing where there are soda fountains and baseball diamonds where some of the skyscrapers are now. Maybe a mom-and-pop general store version of Wentworth's. (How cool would THAT be?)

It'd be a nice bookend opposite the destroyed AP we see in the future.

Brass Monday
Talos Vs. the Chimera (Not Praetorian Manticore)
The task force that was originally sent to destroy Shiva.

I think these would be fun to play as content.

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

Brass Monday is a big one I want to see. Would also like at some point to see Talos (CoH's cross of Gigantor with Captain Marvel) and his final showdown against the Chimera, or being able to go underground deep enough to find the pair still locked in battle (now how'd that be for a set piece battle? You've got two hundred foot tall titans still duking it out, while you're running around trying to stop the bad guys from letting Chimera out). Would love to see some of the fights from the forgotten groups of the 1950s and 60s. We get a fair amount of stuff that tie into the 1940s, but rarely anything from the post-war decades.

Or maybe seeing the Dream Doctor in action in the 1930s, first taking on the Circle of Thorns, cultists and monsters with his newly formed Midnight Squad. Heck, there are references in some arcs to weird stuff going on even into the 1920s, such as the discovery of a Cult of the Shaper cell in a coastal Massachusetts town and it's subsequent destruction by naval gunfire (i.e. Innsmouth). I love pulp and two fisted action (I'm in a pulp/gold/silver age RP group for crying out loud), and I'd love to see some of this stuff.

I understand why stuff like Brass Monday is tricky. The devs have said as much, that when they came up with Ouroborus Brass Monday was at the top of their list of things they wanted to travel back to. The problem is that realized showing the early 1930s means some pretty heavy resource creation. They'd not be able to recycle many art assets to build the environments or enemy groups, and that's a lot of work for a one shot mission.

However, given the recent focus on the Signature Arcs and the unique environments created for them, especially that of WWD7... who knows? I wouldn't entirely rule it out now. I'd love a big set piece fight with 1930s Nemesis.

I would enjoy seeing the adventures of Breakneck.

But ONLY if Troy Hickman scripted them.

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

It would take some excellent writing to make this something that would fit into the lore. However, if it were done it could be exciting...

If you tried to save a hero and couldn't the forums would once again explode into the cries that they did with Statesman and Psyche.

I think the best route would be some kind of stabilizing mission. The players are sent back in time to make sure that events take place the way they originally did (for better or worse). Possibly a malevolent time traveling entity is screwing with the time line?
