Yes, they said Celestial is going away and being replaced by the mecha set. If you want a citation, go find it.

My thought on any Tier 9 set is, "Yay! I get to use it as soon-ish as it comes out!"

Anything after that, I don't really care.

I've said before in other threads of a similar nature that I'd sooner have more pieces in more hands as soon as possible, as the "special"-ness, for me, is more about how you use the pieces rather than the fact that they're limited to any subset of people, other than buying a set that they like enough to purchase.

My biggest thought of costume sets is that I'd rather that they'd just sell everything directly over the Paragon Market, because I want to see what people are capable of making.

Contradiction. The argument to your first sentence, is your second sentence.
Howso? Far as I understand, the definition of 'exclusive' applicable here would be the one about the group of people that something is available to. Currently, access to celestial is exclusive to the group of people who are tier 9 vets. If it gets put into super packs, access is exclusive to the group of people who can buy super packs on the market. If it just gets put into the store, access is exclusive to the group of people who can buy the set itself on the market (in either case, you could put a VIP lockout on it, as well). In both of those latter two cases, the group of people for whom it's possible to obtain the set is the same. That's what I meant by 'super packs aren't any *more* exclusive' - if it is possible for you to obtain the set under one scheme, it's possible for you to obtain it under the other.

That's why I'd rather it just go into the store. It'd be possible to obtain it either way, so from my point of view all putting it in super packs would do is make the process more annoying.

Why?

I don't want anything else they're offering for my tokens at the moment.

I have the costume pieces I want, I'm not interested in the other consumables, and there isn't anything else TO spend the tokens on. Perfectly good way to spend tokens. My only other options are to hoard them for the next tier 9 costume pack, or spend them on crap I don't want.

At least the Super Packs will give me something I can make use of.

I wouldn't say tokens are terribly wasted on super packs but if you're purely looking at it from a point value perspective they are lower on the list than enhancement boosters. Whether that's relevant to you or not depends greatly on how badly you want enhancement boosters compared to the other things you get in super packs, but after buying a colossal pile of super packs I found that the one thing I was at risk of running out of in the foreseeable future was enhancement boosters. One could easily say that this is my own fault for becoming a pitiful booster addict, of course.

Didn't spend additional money. Nitpicking is pretty damn weak. Look at what else we get on top of those tokens. It's still a fair deal.

Only if tokens were all we got for our subs. But there's also Incarnate content, VIP-only zones, VIP powersets, free access to the SSAs, and other such perks.

No. You have to buy the pack of cards to get the gum.
Yes, but you're not paying the whole price of the pack for the piece of gum. And, let's face it, the gum is crap that nobody really wants anyway. But, that's beside the point. Bundling in an extra with the product being sold doesn't mean the cost of that product is the value of the extra.

Your logic here is ridiculously flawed and, frankly, childish in the extreme. Did that cheap plastic whistle in your kid's box of Froot Loops cost $4? No, the cereal cost $4 with or without the whistle. Thus, the whistle was free.
